Clearing a bed, chair or floor mat alarm
In an alarm condition the monitor will display the slot number and
a device type LED will light up. This alarm condition will continue
until one of the following events occurs:
• The patient or resident returns to the bed or chair.
• The caregiver resets the monitor. In this case, if the RESET button
is pressed, then the alarm will silence but the alarm will still be
visible on the display. To clear the alarm press and hold the RESET
button until the display clears. The alarm has now been reset.

Call forwarding (”t”) - Forward calls (alarms) to a 3501
ActiveCare Pager.
Ensure pager/s setting “dS=OFF” (refer to pager’s instructions).
Place the monitor into programming mode

Now apply a Caregiver Reset Key to the SELECT 1 application point
until the rst digit displays a“t”.
Apply the Caregiver Reset Key to the SELECT 2 application point to
select the setting from the table below:
Alarm tone (”b”) -
There are two alarm tones that can be selected.
To change the alarm tone, place the monitor into programming mode*.
Apply a Caregiver Reset Key to the SELECT 1 application point until
the tens digit displays a“b”.
Apply the Caregiver Reset Key to the SELECT 2 application point to
select either (tone) 1 or (tone) 2.
*Programming mode - Ensure the LOCK switch is OFF. Press
& hold the PROGRAM button while simultaneously applying a
Caregiver Reset Key to the SELECT 1 application point. The
monitor will initiate a long beep and briey display“PP” to
conrm that it is in programming mode.
To exit programming mode press & hold the PROGRAM button
until a long beep is heard & the display turns o. The monitor
will also automatically exit programming mode after ~ 3
minutes of inactivity.

Area code (”A”) - If several monitors are being used in a facility,
then setting an Area Code will ensure pagers only receive alarms
from their specied area.
Pause setting (”P”) - Allow sta to pause all pad alarms for a
designated time period.
Pad alarm delay setting (”d”) - Automatically delay a pad
alarm for a designated time period.
Pager code (”C”) - for group paging.

3500R - ActiveCare Monitor quick setup for use with cura1cordless pads, mats, buttons and sensors.

Insert 3 x AA Alkaline Batteries and connect the
2404 Plug Pack.

1. Place monitor in pairing mode - Ensure the LOCK switch is OFF.
Press and hold the PROGRAM button for approx 5 seconds. The
monitor will initiate a long beep and briey display“PP” to conrm
that it is in pairing mode. Now release the PROGRAM button. The
monitor will display the rst memory slot “01”.
2. To select another memory slot - (from 01 to 60) you can use the
SELECT 1 and SELECT 2 application points to increment the tens
digit and the units digit respectively, until the desired memory slot
has been selected.
3. Add a device to a memory slot - simply trigger an alarm on the
device you want to add*. If successful the monitor will beep twice
and the relevant device type indicator LED will illuminate.
4. Exit Pairing Mode - Press & hold the PROGRAM button until a
long beep is heard & the display turns o. The monitor will also
automatically exit pairing mode after ~ 3 minutes of inactivity.
*Note: When adding a pad transmitter, turn the transmitter from
OFF to ON for the pairing process (instead of creating an alarm
condition with the pad or mat).
Note: Multiple device types can be added to the same memory slot
- eg pad/mat, door sensor and call button.
Deleting wireless devices from a memory slot
Place monitor into pairing mode (see 3.1 above).
Use the SELECT 1 and SELECT 2 application points to scroll through
the memory slots and once the desired slot is selected, hold RESET
for approx 5 seconds. The device type indicator LED(s) turn o to
indicate that the device(s) are no longer present in the memory.

Create an alarm condition for every device that is connected to
the monitor and ensure the monitor responds correctly.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment and
insert three new AA batteries (supplied).
Replace cover and secure the screw.
Connect the supplied plug pack & switch the power on. Ensure the
plug pack is used at all times during operation. It is strongly
recommended to also have batteries installed. Batteries must be
removed from the device while it’s in storage.
Note: Whenever the plug pack or battery power is connected the
monitor will beep once to conrm that power is connected.

Mounting
The monitor unit can be xed to a wall using the supplied
mounting bracket. Optionally, the monitor can simply be placed
directly on a table or desk.
Use screwdriver, (accepts both Phillips or
flat head) to undo screw & slide battery
cover UP to open.

Step
Configuration - Track, Pause, Delay & Lock
Some of the following features may need to be set up or enabled,
depending on your specic conguration requirements.
Tracking - Can be used to check that all paired cordless pad
transmitters are still in range and communicating with the system.
To enable tracking, slide the TRACKING switch to the ON position.
Alarm Forward - Alarms can be forwarded to a pager. For
instructions, PTO and nd Call forwarding to a pager.
Lock - After programming is complete turn this to“On”to prevent
accidental changes during normal usage.
Area, Pause & Delay - For information about these features, PTO.
Insert 3 X AA alkaline batteries
into battery compartment.
