Remove the plastic film from face of the
monitor, and install batteries.
Confirm that the green “IN USE” light is flashing.
Attach the linen clip to the patient’s clothing
(out of the patient’s reach)
Adjust the volume control in the battery
compartment, close the cover, and
tighten the screw
TEST THE ALARM: Remove the magnetic
dome from the socket. The alarm will sound,
and the red “ALARM” light will flash.
Adjust the string to a length that will pull out
the magnetic dome to activate the alarm if the
patient attempts an exit.
CONNECTING TO NURSE CALL: Plug a Nurse
Call Connection Cable into the ”NURSE CALL”
socket on the monitor, connect the opposite
end of cable into Nurse Call Station (an adaptor
may be required) and test.
Attach the Velcro strap.
Secure the monitor to back of the patient’s
chair or bed.

Use

This checklist has been developed to help identify common issues that can be quickly
addressed to prevent unnecessary product returns. Please also refer to the product’s
Directions for Use and instructional video on Curbell’s website (www.curbellmedical.com).
If, after completing the checklist, the product continues to malfunction, please call your
Curbell Representative at 888-222-2188.
No power/green “IN USE” light does not blink
o Batteries are installed according to the diagram in the battery compartment.
o Batteries are fresh and/or known to be good.
No alert is given to the facility’s nurse call system
o The connection between the monitor and the nurse call patient station is securely connected and not
damaged (a 1/4” mono nurse call jack and/or an adaptor for compatibility is required).
False alarm occurs
o Check that the magnetic dome is secured in the monitor socket.
o Check that the string length is not too short.
A chirping sound occurs
o Check for a Low battery LED indicator and replace the batteries if necessary.
No alarm sound occurs
o The volume level has been turned up.
