Introduction
Your deep fat fryer features a cool-wall body, a removable lid and a dual action filter in the lid for easy
cleaning. The dual action filter in the lid absorbs cooking vapours and smells.
Please read all the instructions before using the appliance. Read all the safety notes carefully.
If you pass the fryer on to a third party, please include this instruction manual.
Unpacking
Remove all packaging from the unit. Retain the packaging. If you dispose of it please do so according
to any local regulations.

Holding the basket
NEVER place your thumb on the Frying
Basket Handle Release button when
moving the basket as the basket may release
unexpectedly and spill any contents.
2. Removing the lid
With the lid half open, you will see the hinge
between the metal and plastic guard. Hold
the lid at both sides and ease the lid off the
spring catch.
Removing the grease trap cover and filters
Grip the catch on the filter trap cover
between your thumb and forefinger. Press
the catch down and lift out the lid.
Positioning the Fryer
• Place your deep fat fryer on a firm, flat, heat-resistant work surface. Steam given off by the
cooking process may mark or damage anything above or around the fryer, ensure these areas are
kept clear.
• In order to avoid possible fire hazards, keep the area above and around the fryer clear. Leave a
clear space all around the fryer, and keep it as far back from the front edge of the work surface as
possible.
• Do not put the fryer or the mains cable close to any other cooking or heating appliances. Do not
place above the stove.
Preparation
Before using your fryer for the first time, you should carefully wash the appliance.
Open the lid by pushing the Open Lid button. The lid is spring loaded and will open automatically.
Remove the frying basket and the lid. You can also pull out the mains cable and store the mains cable
in the mains cable storage.

handle of the frying basket and locate the
basket support in the basket support slots.

3. Washing the fryer components
• Wash the fryer lid, the grease trap cover filters and the basket by hand in warm soapy water.
Rinse and allow to dry.
• Pour warm soapy water into the oil tank and wash it with a damp cloth. Rinse with fresh hot
water and dry well.
• Wipe the exterior of the fryer with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the body of the fryer in
water.
4. Replacing the grease trap cover and lters
• Dry the fryer lid and replace the grease trap cover and filters. Place the plain filter in the trap
first, followed by the charcoal filter.
• Relocate the grease trap cover back into position.
5. Reattaching the fryer lid
Stand in front of the fryer. Hold the lid on each side
and place the lid spring in front of the metal catch at
the rear of the fryer. The two metal shafts in the lid
should be situated right at the plastic housing.
Try to close and open the lid to check if you have
reattached the lid correctly.

Cooking with the Fryer
Cooking with the fryer is a two part process.
First the tank must be filled with the correct amount of oil and be preheated to the correct
temperature. Only when this process is complete should you proceed to the COOKING stage.
PART 1
1. Fill the tank with oil
• On the inside of the oil tank at the back, there are two marks MIN and MAX. Pour in sufficient
oil to reach the MAX marks. Do not overfill.
• The maximum capacity of the tank is 2.0 litres. There should always be sufficient oil in the tank
to cover the MIN mark, i.e 1.7 litres.
• Corn oil, sunflower oil, ground nut oil and vegetable oil are all suitable for use with the fryer.
If you wish you may use solid vegetable fat but this is much more difficult to handle. Solid fat
should be melted in a separate pan before transferring it to the tank.
• Do not use margarine, butter or olive oil. Do not mix different oils and fats.
• Lightly smear the viewing window with a little oil. This will prevent it from getting fogged by
condensation and allow you to view the food while it cooks.
2. Lower the basket into the oil and Close the lid
Slowly lower the filled basket into the oil.
Close the lid of the fryer by pressing down at both sides. This will prevent steam from escaping.
Pull back the Frying Basket Handle Release button on the handle to release the catch and fold
the handle down.

PART 2 - Cooking
1. Open the fryer lid
2. Take the basket completely out and load
with food
Never load food when the basket is in the raised
position. The basket can hold up to 0.8kg of food.
3. Lower the lled basket into the oil
Slowly lower the filled basket into the oil. Then,
release the handle to the recessed position, as
described on page 8.
4. Close the fryer lid
You can check the food through the window. If
you open the lid while cooking, be careful of the
steam that is produced, it may scald.
• Set the correct oil temperature for the food - the frying guide on page 11 will assist you.
3. Plug the fryer into the mains
Plug the fryer into the mains socket and switch on the power at the mains.
4. Set The Temperature
Set the variable thermostat lever to your desired temperature. The power indicator will first turn
red and then turn green when the selected temperature is reached and it is ready to use.

Do not omit the preheating process!
When using for the first time, the fryer may emit a slight odour. This is harmless and quite
normal. The odour will cease after a very short time.

When the Food is Cooked
• Open the lid fully by pressing the Open Lid
button. Be careful as there may be steam in the
fryer and it may scald.
• Unfold and lift up the handle. Raise the food and
shake the basket slightly to remove excess oil.
You can rest the food in the basket in the raised
position by sitting the basket supports on the
basket support slots.
If the food is not fully cooked: Lower the basket into
the oil, fold the handle, close the lid and continue the
cooking process.
Cooking Home-battered Foods
This method requires extreme care.
1. Coat the food in batter and leave it to drain to remove any excess batter.
2. Ensure the correct cooking temperature has been reached.
3. Follow the step’s detailed in Part 2 Cooking (refer to page 9).
Hints on Using Your Fryer
• Use a recommended oil - do not mix oils or fats.
• Take into account the type of food when you set the frying temperature. Generally, precooked
foods need a higher cooking temperature than raw foods.
• If you need to add oil, do so between batches. Allow a short time for the oil to heat up to the
right temperature.
• Ensure there is enough room to open the appliance lid and operate the frying basket.
• Cook food thoroughly. Remember that the food may have turned golden brown before it has
cooked through.
• Use the fryer in well ventilated conditions. All food contains moisture which turns to steam
during frying. Most of this steam escapes through the filter in the lid but be careful when
opening the lid as steam may still be present and it may scald.
• Do not lean over the fryer when cooking food or when opening the lid.
• Check the progress of the food through the viewing window.
