Introduction
Welcome to the line of D-Link® Fuzion™ Broadband Aggregation Routers. Fuzion powered
routers provide downstream and upstream speed aggregation, as well as resiliency via
failover when connected to two to four broadband lines. One router is required for each
broadband line.
Leverage the power of the Cloud using the Fuzion™ Aggregation Service to centrally and
remotely congure, deploy, secure and manage your entire network at a per-site level.
Note: Product features, screen shots, and Fuzion™ Portal are subject to change without notice, and actual
product appearance may dier from that depicted herein. All features and screen shots are based on
current version/rmware at time of print.
Important: Before connecting, you must register your Fuzion™ Router online.
System Requirements
• Internet connectivity (two to four broadband lines, operational and congured)
• Computer with a Windows®, Macintosh®, or Linux-based operating system
• Browser with Firefox 3.6, Chrome 5.0, Safari 4.0, Internet Explorer 8.0, or later versions
Note: your Router includes a one-year subscription to the Fuzion Cloud Aggregation service. After
one year, the service requires an annual subscription.
To properly congure your Router, you will need:

Registering Your Fuzion Router Online
Step 1: Before you can use the DIR-605 router, you must register it online through the Fuzion™
Portal. Open a web browser and go to https://fuzion.dlink.com.
New Customer: If you don’t have an existing Fuzion™ account, create one by clicking Register.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Existing Customer: If you already have a Fuzion™ account, click Log In and enter your User
Name and Password.

Step 2: Once you successfully log in to your router, click Add New Router and select the
number of routers to add.
Step 3: Enter the MAC address and PIN code for each of the routers you want to register.
The MAC and PIN are located on the label on the bottom of the router. Once entered, click
Verify router details.

Deploying: WAN using Dynamic IP Addressing
OPTION 1:

If your ISP Modem/Gateway automatically assigns IP addresses (DHCP service), connect the
Fuzion™ Router directly to the Modem/Gateway.
Step A: Insert one end of an Ethernet cable into the WAN port on DIR-605 rear
panel.
Step B: Insert the cable’s other end into the LAN Port of your existing Modem/
Gateway with Internet connectivity.
Step C: Connect the power supply to the DIR-605. Once powered, the green Power
LED will turn ON. Do not block the vents on the router to prevent overheating.
No additional conguration is required. Within a few minutes the Fuzion™ router will
Auto-Provision and become ready to use.
Step D: Repeat Steps A to C to connect additional Fuzion™ routers. Two to four
routers are supported. One Fuzion™ router is required for each line.
Step E: Skip to Step 5 - Conrming Successful Provisioning to continue.
Step 4: Congure/provision your routers with one of the following two options: Dynamic
or Static/PPPoE. For Dynamic IP Addressing, refer to Option 1 and for Static or PPPoE IP
Addressing, refer to Option 2.

Deploying: WAN using Static IP Addressing or PPPoE
OPTION 2:
If your ISP Modem/Gateway requires Authentication or Static IP Addressing, follow these
steps to properly congure your Fuzion™ Router:
Step A: Connect any LAN port on the Fuzion™ Router directly to your computer
using an Ethernet cable. Connect the power unit to the router. Do not block the
vents on the router to prevent overheating.
Step B: Launch a web browser and type the IP address of the Fuzion™ Router
(http://192.168.3.17)
Step C: Once you enter the IP address, the login screen will appear. Enter your
username and password and then click Log In.

Step D: Once logged in, you will be able to change the Fuzion™ Router’s WAN
(Internet) Interface’s conguration to match what your ISP has provided as the
required connection specic setting.
Step E: Click Save Settings to activate your changes. No additional conguration
is required. Within a few minutes the Fuzion™ Router will Auto Provision and
become ready to use.
Step F: It is recommended to set the router's time settings before continuing. Click
Tools and then click Time on the left side. Congure and then click Save Settings.
Step G: Repeat Steps A to F to connect additional Fuzion™ routers. Two to four
routers are supported. One Fuzion™ router is required for each line.
Step H: Skip to Step 5 - Conrming Successful Provisioning to continue.

Step 6: Read the following information before you connect devices to your LAN.
• Recommended: For optimal operation, D-Link recommends to connect an
Ethernet cable from one LAN port from each router to a common Ethernet
switch. Other devices on your network can connect to the switch for local
networking and Internet access. This method has the best fail over functionality
since failure of any line or router will not aect Internet access by any connected
devices once Fuzion™ fails over to a functional DIR-605 router.
• Alternative: You may connect an Ethernet cable directly between your router's
LAN ports in a daisy chain fashion and use the remaining ports on any router as
your LAN connections. The router LAN ports are auto-MDIX/auto-crossover. This
method does not provide as much fail over protection since a router's failure
will stop Internet connectivity to any devices connected to the LAN ports on
the failed router. Be sure not to create a ring by connecting the last router to
the rst.
• By default, the LAN DHCP will use the network addressing:
192.168.3.x : 255.255.255.0

more information.
Step 5: It may be necessary to reboot each broadband modem after provisioning each of
the attached corresponding routers or after WAN/Internet cable connections are changed
to allow the ISP connectivity to properly initialize. This is best done after the provisioning
process has completed and the DIR-605 has rebooted a couple times as part of the
provisioning phase.
You can verify a successful provisioning and broadband initialization of an individual router if
the computer attached to the LAN port of the router is assigned by DHCP a Default Gateway
of 192.168.3.250. If the Default Gateway is 192.168.3.17 then DIR-605 has not connected to
Cloud portal and it will be necessary to reboot the corresponding modem.
