Clean the oven fully before its first use. Then, ventilate the kitchen well, remove the accessories,
andset the oven toBakeat400 °Ffor 1 hour. Therewillbe adistinctodor. Thisisnormal.
Energy-Saving Tips
• Duringcooking,the oven door shouldbe closedexceptwhenyou turn food.Leavingthe door
closedalso maintainsoventemperature,whichsavesenergy.
• If cooking longer than 30 minutes, you can switch the oven off 5-10 minutes before the end of
thecook time. Theresidualheat completesthe cookingprocess.
• Plan oven use to avoid turning the oven off between cooking one item and the next.
• Whenpossible, cook multipleitems together.
Usingthe Water Reservoir
This feature is used with steam functions:Steam Bake, Steam Roast, GreenClean™,Steam, etc. It is
also used for removing water scale from the oven walls, especially after using steam functions.Fill
itwithwaterbeforeuse.
1. Pull the water reservoirout.
48" range: the reservoir is on the left side, above
the oven. To remove this reservoir, grasp the
handle,andpull.
36" range: the reservoir is on the right side,
abovetheoven. To remove this reservoir,onthe
control panel, press OPEN/CLOSE RESERVOIR.
Pullout the partiallyejected reservoir.
NOTE
• Thereservoir may be hotfrom oven use. Ifso, grasp the reservoir with an oven mitt.
• The reservoir can be fully removed from the range. Check the water level, and add water as
needed.(You mayadd waterwithoutremoving the reservoircompletely.

2. Openthe reservoir cap, and then fill the reservoir
with tapwater.
NOTE
Youcan openthe reservoir byremoving the rubber
cap or by removing the clear plastic top. To avoid
spilling water, filling water through the hole after
removing rubber cap isrecommended.
3. Replace the cap or the clear plastic.
4. 48" range: Push the reservoir fully into the
opening; 36" range: Slide the reservoir into its
slot,and touchOPEN/CLOSE RESERVOIR.
CAUTION
Thereservoirand slot heat up duringcooking.Wear
oven mitts to handle the reservoir during and right
after cooking.

CheckingforGasLeaks
Do not use a flame to check for gas leaks. Brush a soap-and-water solution around the area. If
thereisaleak,smallbubbleswillappearinthesolution.Ifstill unsure,callaserviceprofessional.
Electrical and Grounding Safety
WARNING

• Plugtherangeinto agrounded3-prongoutlet.
• Donotremove theground prong.
• Donotuse anadapter or anextensioncord.

• The range must be grounded, which reduces risk of electric shock by giving the current a safe
path.Therange’scord has agroundingplug,whichmustbefirmlypluggedintoanoutletthatis
properly installed and grounded per local regulations. If you are unsure your outlet is properly
grounded,havealicensedelectriciancheckit.
• Electrical service to the range must conform to local codes, in the absence of which, it should

Installation Safety
WARNING

• Ensuretheanti-tip deviceisinstalledperthe Installation Instructions.
• Usetwo or morepeople to movethe range.
• After unpacking, remove all accessories from inside and around it. (Cautiously handle the heavy
gratesandgriddle.)
• Checkfor partsthat loosened during shipping.
• Havetherangeinstalled/adjustedbyaqualifiedtechnicianforthesuppliedgas type(naturalor
LP). For LP gas, the installer must replace everyburner orifice withthe provided LP orifice, and
reverse the GPR adapter per manufacturer instructions and local regulations. The agency doing
thisworkshallberesponsiblefortheconversion.
• Installation mustcomply with localcodes or, intheir absence,with theNationalFuel Gas Code,
ANSI Z223.1/NFPA.54, latest edition. In Canada, installation must comply with the current
Natural Gas Installation Code, CAN/CGA-B149.1, or the current Propane Installation Code, CAN/
CGA-B149.2, andwith local codesasapplicable.This rangewas design-certified byETLper ANSI
Z21.1 (latest edition), and Canadian GasAssociation per CAN/CGA-1.1 (latest edition).
Location Safety
WARNING

• This range isfor indoor, household use only, awayfrom weather, water,strong drafts.
• The f loor should be level and able to support the range’s weight (about 564lbs for a 48" range) .
Synthetic flooring must withstand 180 °F (82 °C) without shrinking, warping, or discoloring. Over
carpet,placea sheetof ¼-in. plywood or similar insulator.
• Donot hang long curtains or paper blinds on any window next to the range.
• Rangeventsmust beunimpededandsufficientairflowspaceprovidedall aroundtherange.
• Wall coverings around the range must withstand heat up to 200 °F (93 °C).
• If overhead storage is needed, allow at least 30" (76.2 cm) between the cooking surface and the
bottom of the cabinets, or install a range hood that projects at least 5" (12.7 cm) beyond the
cabinetryface.

Cooktop Safety
WARNING
To reduce risk of property damage,fire, personal injury, and death:
• Turn off all unused burners.
• Donotlineanypartof therangewithaluminum foil.
• Do not leave burners unattended on medium or high heat settings.
• Before igniting, ensure all burner components are properly assembled.
• Use the LITE position to ignite a burner, and verify the burner ignites. If ignition fails, turn the
knob to OFF,and wait for the gas todissipate, then retry.
• Whensetting aburnerto simmer, turn the knob slowly. Verify the burner stayslit.
• Place onlycookwareon thecooktop.
• The range is designed for use with a wok and wok ring.
• Always useaventilationhoodwhenflaming food.
• Whendone cooking, turnoff the burner,and immediatelyremove the cookware.
• Beforedisassemblingaburner,ensuretherangeisoffand completelycool.
• After cleaning the burner spreader, dry it completely before re-assembly.
• When assembled, the burner-spreader spark mark shouldbenext tothe electrode.
• Do not pour water into the cooktop.
• Select cookware that is designed for cooktop use and fits the cooktop grates. Burner flames
shouldremainbeneaththecookware.
• Turncookware handlesawayfromtheburnersand front ofthe cooktop.
• Stand at asafedistancewhilefrying.
• Heatfryingoilsslowly.Iffryingfoodsathigh heat,monitortheentireprocess.
• Ifcombiningfatsoroils whenfrying,mixthembeforeheating.
• Use a deep-fry thermometer if possible to avoid overheating the oil.
• Use minimal oil when frying; let oil/fat cool before moving the cookware.
• Do not fry frozen or icy food.
• Lethotliquidssitat least20secondsafter turningofftheburnersothetemperatureofthe
liquidcanstabilize.Incaseofscalding,immersethescaldedareaincoolwateratleast10
minutes, thencover with a clean, drycloth; donotapplycreams, oils, or lotions.
• Centerpots on the grates.Cookwareon rearburnersshouldbe max.9” dia.Oversizedcookware
mayimpede airflow, causing the flame sputter and burn inefficiently.
• Donotwearlooseorhanginggarmentswhen usingtherange.
• Always ensure the controlsare OFF and the grates are cool before removing them.
• Stirsaucesand similarliquids whilewarming.
