5 Safety Instructions
Only use the device if it is in technically perfect condition, according to its
intended purpose, in a safety and hazard conscious manner and in accor-
dance with the following safety instructions:
• Qualied Personnel
The mounting, connection, commissioning and conguration of the
device may only be carried out by qualied personnel.
This also applies to the maintenance, inspection and repair of the device
in compliance with the locally applicable regulations (regional and
country-specic legal requirements and standards), such as the DIN VDE
0701-0702 series of standards (VDE 0701-0702: “Inspection after repair,
modication of electrical appliances – Periodic inspection on electrical
appliances – General requirements for electrical safety”).
• Regulations
The use of video and audio security/surveillance systems is, in general,
strictly regulated.
Before using the device, inform yourself about the currently valid laws
and regulations regarding data, worker and environmental protection
and ensure compliance with them.
• System Components
Only use internal components that have been tested and approved by
Dallmeier. Inappropriate internal components may cause malfunctions,
damage and data loss and may result in the loss of warranty.
• Modications to the Device
Do not make any modications to the hardware or software of the device
that have not been tested and approved by Dallmeier. Inappropriate
modications (e.g. unapproved paintwork or housing add-ons) may
cause malfunctions, damage and data loss and may result in the loss of
warranty.

• Condensation
If the device is brought from a cold to a warm environment, resulting
condensation may cause malfunctions and damage. In this case, wait
until the device has reached room temperature (up to 8 hours) before
commissioning.
• Earthing/Grounding & Equipotential Bonding
For the safety of persons (protection against dangerous contact voltages)
and devices (protection against over-voltages) as well as for the immunity
of information and communication technolog equipment to electro-
magnetic interferences (EMI), all protective measures, which are specied
by the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which provide
for a standard-compliant earthing/grounding and a correct equipotential
bonding of electrical and electronic devices, are mandatory and must be
fullled by all means.

• Lightning Storms
To avoid damage to the device by electrical surge during lightning storms,
all protective measures, which are specied by the currently applicable
DIN, VDE and ISO standards and which provide for a standard-compliant
lightning protection equipotential bonding, are mandatory and must be
fullled by all means.
• Operating Conditions
Unfavorable operating conditions may shorten the lifetime of the device,
may cause malfunctions, damage and data loss and may result in the loss
of warranty. Observe the specications given in the technical data, the
operating condition requirements and the maintenance instructions.
• Foreign Bodies in the Device
If objects or liquids get into the device, immediately interrupt the mains
voltage to the device (e.g. switch o the corresponding circuit breaker).
Contact the sales partner responsible for your area.
• Burnt Smell from the Device
If you notice burnt smell or a formation of smoke coming from the device,
immediately interrupt the mains voltage to the device (e.g. switch o the
corresponding circuit breaker).
Contact the sales partner responsible for your area.
• Opening the Device
The device may only be opened by qualied personnel in a voltage-free
state for commissioning, inspection, maintenance and repair.
• Disposal of the Device
Do not dispose waste electrical and electronic equipment into the house-
hold trash.
Interrupt the mains voltage to the device (e.g. switch o the correspond-
ing circuit breaker) and remove all connected peripherals.
Return the device to the sales partner responsible for your area.

Scope of Delivery
The standard scope of delivery includes:

(anchor diameter: 8mm, anchor length: 100mm,
nominal drill bit diameter: 8mm)

• 1× Insulated female blade connector (push-on receptacle crimp terminal),
suitable for wire cross-sections from 1.5 to 2.5mm²

Transportation and Packaging
Store the original packaging for later transportation.
Dallmeier is not responsible for any damage resulting from unprofessional
or improper transportation.
The device should only be shipped in the original packaging.
If the original packaging is no longer available, ensure that the used packag-
ing suciently protects the device against damage, moisture, heat and cold.

Warranty
The terms and conditions valid at the time the contract was signed shall
apply.
Appropriate Use
Mountera® Box with PSU
The Mountera® Box with PSU is a junction box designed for mounting,
wiring and powering Panomera® systems and cameras that are equipped
with the Mountera® Quick-Lock System.
The junction box can be operated with a mains voltage of 100 – 240V AC
(±10%) at a mains frequency of 50– 60 Hz (±6%).
The built-in power supply unit provides a total output power of up to
260 watts and enables the simultaneous power supply of several suitable
Panomera® systems or cameras with 48V DC each.
Made of robust aluminum and equipped with durable seals, the IP66-rated
junction box is suitable for 24/7/365 continuous operation both indoors and
outdoors.
The chromated surface of the junction box is nished with powder coating
in signal white (RAL 9003) which has been tested for seawater resistance
according to DIN EN 60068-2.
The Mountera® Box with PSU can be mounted directly on a ceiling or a wall
or – in combination with an adapter – on a pole.
The optionally available Mountera® brackets with Quick-Lock System and
internal cable routing enable quick and easy installation of the correspond-
ing Panomera® systems or cameras on the junction box without visible
cables.
Mountera® Box with SRS Edge
The Mountera® Box with SRS Edge combines the features of the
Mountera® Box with PSU with a SMAVIA Recording Server Appliance.
The fanless and energ-ecient server hardware oers passive cooling and
allows decentralized recording of high-resolution video streams on the
built-in SSD memory directly at the installation site.

7 Requirements
Ambient Conditions
The device is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. However, the device
may not be installed and operated in environments with
• a large amount of dust and dirt,
• steam or oil vapors,
• direct sunlight during a longer period of time,
• high heat radiation (e.g. generated by a radiator),
• unfavorable ambient temperatures,
• nearby strong radiation sources (e.g. radio transmitters, magnetic elds),
• corrosive gases and liquids, or
• insucient ventilation (e.g. in a closed cabinet).
NOTICE
Damage to the device due to unfavorable ambient conditions
Use of the device under unfavorable ambient conditions may shorten its
lifetime and may cause malfunction or damage to the device.
➡Only install and operate the device under favorable ambient conditions.

Earthing/Grounding
NOTICE
Damage to the Mountera® Box and the connected peripheral equipment
or serious malfunctions due to the lack of or improper earthing/grounding
Damage to electronic components caused by lightning strikes or over-volt-
ages (electrical surges) as well as malfunctions due to electromagnetic
interferences (EMI)
➡Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant earthing/
grounding and a correct (lightning protection) equipotential bonding of
the Mountera® Box and all connected peripheral equipment in accor-
dance with the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order
to ensure the safety of the devices (protection against lightning strikes
and over-voltages) and their immunity to electromagnetic interferences
(EMI).
➡Observe the locally applicable regulations (regional and country-specic
legal requirements and standards) regarding the required minimum
cross-sections for the earthing/grounding cables used.

Power Supply
The Mountera® Box can be operated with a mains voltage of 100 –240V AC
(±10%) at a mains frequency of 50– 60 Hz (±6%). The output voltage of the
Mountera® Box is 48V DC with an output current of 5.4 A.
The Mountera® Box thus supports the power supply of multiple Panomera®
systems or cameras that are equipped with the Mountera® Quick-Lock
System.
The number of total systems that can be supplied with power simulta-
neously depends on the respective power consumption of the systems
used. Always observe the power supply requirements and the maximum
rated power consumption specied on the product rating plates of your
equipment.
WARNING
Electrical shock caused by exposed live electrical parts as well as due to
the lack of or improper earthing/grounding
Risk of death or serious injury
➡All work on the device (including the connection of peripheral equip-
ment) may only be carried out by qualied personnel and in a
voltage-free state (verify the absence of voltage).
➡Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant earthing/
grounding of the device in accordance with the currently applicable
DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order to ensure the safety of persons
(protection against dangerous contact voltages).
➡Observe the locally applicable regulations (regional and country-specic
legal requirements and standards) regarding the required minimum
cross-sections for the conductors of the power supply line (mains cable).

8 Maintenance, Inspection and Cleaning
Maintenance and Inspection of the Device
The operational safety of the device has to be inspected periodically by
qualied personnel.
WARNING
Electrical shock caused by exposed live electrical parts
Risk of death or serious injury
➡All maintenance and repair work on the device may only be carried out
in a voltage-free state (verify the absence of voltage).
The maintenance, inspection and repair of the device may only be carried out
by qualied personnel and in compliance with the locally applicable regula-
tions (regional and country-specic legal requirements and standards), such
as the DIN VDE 0701-0702 series of standards (VDE 0701-0702: “Inspection
after repair, modication of electrical appliances – Periodic inspection on
electrical appliances – General requirements for electrical safety”).
Cleaning the Device
The device has to be cleaned regularly to prevent the formation of deposits
that may permanently damage the surfaces of the device.
NOTICE
Damage to the surfaces of the device due to improper cleaning practices
➡Clean the outside of the housing with a clean, soft and dry cloth.
• Do not use detergents.
• Do not use microber cleaning cloths.
• Avoid excessive rubbing.

9 Mounting, Connection and Commissioning
Mounting, connection and commissioning of the device may only be carried
out by qualied personnel.
WARNING
Personal injury caused by falling devices or collapsing supporting structure
Risk of death or serious injury
➡Before mounting the Mountera® Box and the corresponding peripheral
equipment, follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the max-
imum permissible carrying capacity of the supporting structure (e.g.
ceiling or wall).
➡When mounting the Mountera® Box, only use screws and, if necessary,
anchors/dowels that are suitable for the respective type (construction
material) of the supporting element, such as for example:
• Plastic screw anchors for use in solid masonry materials (concrete/
brick)
• Gravity or spring toggle anchors for use in drywall systems (plaster-
board)
IMPORTANT: Observe that the supplied mounting screws/anchors are
only suitable for use in concrete, aerated concrete and masonry.
➡Before mounting or removing your Panomera® system or camera to or
from the Mountera® Box, always ensure that your Panomera® system
or camera is properly secured against falling with a secondary safety
component (safety cable) on the outside of the Mountera® Box.
In addition, strictly observe the locally applicable regulations (regional
and country-specic legal requirements and standards) regarding the
mandatory measures for securing your Panomera® system or camera
against falling while in operation or during maintenance.

The Mountera® Box can be mounted directly on a ceiling or a wall
or – in combination with an adapter – on a pole.
In the following, the mounting of the Mountera® Box on a wall using
the supplied mounting screws/anchors is illustrated as well as its
preparation for wiring Panomera® systems that are equipped with the
Mountera® Quick-Lock System.
Required Tools/Accessories
The following tools/accessories are required for mounting the Mountera® Box
directly on a ceiling or a wall and for wiring the required cables:
• Drilling template (included in the delivery) with markings for the
required drill holes (8 mm)
• Tool (e.g. center punch or awl) for marking the drill hole locations
through the drilling template
• Drilling machine with drill bit (nominal drill bit diameter: 8mm;
type of drill bit suitable for the respective construction material)
• Foam pad with self-adhesive backing (included in the delivery)
• Hexagon socket screw key (size 5; included in the delivery)
• Hexagon socket screw key (size 2.5; included in the delivery)
• 4 mounting screws/anchors (e.g. plastic frame anchor with hexagon
head screw + pressed-on washer; anchor diameter: 8mm, anchor length:
100mm; included in the delivery)
• Rubber mallet
• Ratcheting wrench handle with extension and 6-point socket
(drive style: external hex, size: 10 mm)
• Mountera® Cable Set C (optionally available)
• Insulated cable lugs (crimp terminals) for used earthing/grounding cable
• Crimping tool for used cable lugs
• Small slotted screwdriver or similar tool for lifting the strain relief clamp
out of the “Power In” cable strain relief plate

➡When using the supplied mounting screws/anchors, prepare a drill
bit for the anchor size 8 mm×L 100mm.
➡Mark the drill hole locations on the ceiling/wall (use the supplied
drilling template if necessary).
➡At the marked locations, drill holes tting the used mounting
screws/anchors.
