Important Safety Information

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always
be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury.
1. Read all instructions.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces or hot water. Use handles only as care
must be taken since burns can occur from touching hot parts or from
spilled hot water.
3. To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not
immerse the cord, plug, power base or electric kettle in water or near
any other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or
near children.
5. Unplug the unit from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
Allow the unit to cool completely before handling any parts or before
cleaning the unit.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after
the appliance malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner.

7. The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by the man-

11. To disconnect the electric appliance, turn all controls to the OFF (O)
position and then remove the plug from the wall outlet. Never pull on
the cord as this may damage the cord and eventually cause electric
shock.
12. Do not use this appliance for anything other than its intended use
(i.e. to boil water).

Important Safety Information

13. Do not use for anything other than heating water. Other liquids or
foods will contaminate the interior and void the warranty.
14. Do not allow the kettle to boil dry.
15. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appl-
ance on the same circuit.
16. Scalding may occur if the lid is opened during the heating cycle.
17. Use on a hard, flat level surface only, to avoid interruption of air flow
underneath the appliance.
18. Extreme caution must be used when handling or moving the kettle,
and when pouring from a kettle that contains boiling water.
19. Do not use an extension cord for this appliance.
20. Place the kettle far back from the edge of the counter.
21. Do not put any parts from this kettle in the dishwasher, including the
removable filter.
22. Do not hold the switch in the on position, as this may damage the
auto shut-off mechanism.
23. The kettle body will get very hot, be careful when handling.
Grounding Instructions
This appliance is intended for household use only. WARNING-
Shock Hazard: This product is provided with a grounded (3-prong)
plug to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way
into the grounded outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the
plug by modifying the plug in ANY WAY or by using an adaptor. The
length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce
the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord.

Operating Instructions
FEATURES
IMPORTANT - DO NOT OVERFILL THE KETTLE, BOILING WATER MAY SPIT OUT OF
THE SPOUT.
1. Place the kettle on a flat surface.
2. Before filling the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing
down on the lid release button. Fill the kettle past the MIN line but not above the MAX
line. Push the lid back in place.
3. Position the kettle back on the power base.
4. Connect the plug on the power base to the power outlet.
5. Press down on the ON/OFF (I/O) switch, the kettle will turn off automatically once the
water has boiled. When the water in the kettle cools to a certain temperature, you will
be able to activate the kettle again. NOTE: Ensure that the power switch is free
of obstructions and that the lid is firmly closed, the kettle will not turn off if the
switch is obstructed or if the lid is open.
6. Lift the kettle from the power base and carefully pour. Please pour the kettle with
extreme care to avoid burns caused by boiling water and steam.
7. The kettle will not re-boil until the switch is pressed again. The kettle may be stored
on the power base when not in use. Always disconnect the power supply from the
wall outlet when not in use.
Boil-Dry Protection: Should you accidentally let the kettle operate without water, the boil-
dry protection function will automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle
to cool prior to filling with cold water for re-boiling.
*Note: The decorative cover also acts as protection if you need to touch the lid while the
kettle is hot.

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and let it cool completely
prior to cleaning.
• Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water. Do not allow moisture to
come in contact with the power cord or power base.
• Never use chemicals or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside. Do not use steel wool
or sharp objects to clean the outside as this may damage the outside of the kettle.
1. Wipe the outside of the kettle body with a damp cloth or mild cleaning solution.
NEVER USE HARSH CHEMICALS OR CLEANERS. If using a cleaner to wipe the
outside of the kettle, wipe it off with a water dampened cloth.
2. It is important to clean the filter located in the spout periodically. The filter catches lime
and mineral debris and can become clogged. The filter is easily removed from the
kettle spout by sliding it up towards the opening of the spout.
3. Due to the gradual build up of calcium, lime and mineral deposits in your kettle, it is
important to clean the interior of the kettle periodically.
• To clean the interior, a kettle descaling agent can be used. Carefully follow the instruc-
tions on the package of the descaler.
• The interior of the kettle can also be cleaned using white vinegar. Fill the kettle with
1 cup of white vinegar and 1-2 cups of water. Bring the kettle to a boil and let it sit for
several hours. Discard the vinegar water mixture. Add clean tap water to the kettle and
boil. This may need to be repeated until no trace of vinegar remains.

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating
conditions intended by the manufacturer.
This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter
“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.
TERMS OF WARRANTY
Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.
First Year
During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s
option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

Danby reserves the right to limit the boundaries of “In Home Service” to the proximity of an Authorized Service Depot. Any app liance

requiring service outside the limited boundaries of “In Home Service” , it will be the consumer’s responsibility to transport the appliance (at
their own expense) to the original retailer (point of purchase) or a service depot for repair. See “Boundaries of In Home Serv ice” below.
Contact your dealer from whom your unit was purchased, or contact your nearest authorized Danby service depot, where service
must be performed by a qualied service technician.
If service is performed on the units by anyone other than an authorized service depot, or the unit is used for commercial appli cation, all
obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

EXCLUSIONS
Save as herein provided, Danby, there are no other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, express or implied, m ade or intended by Danby or its
authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditio ns, representations or guarantees
under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall no t be responsible for any damages
to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of
the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.

5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).
6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.
7) Service calls resulting in customer education.
8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).

Au moment d’utiliser de appareils électriques, on doit toujours respecter

d’autre appareil de haute puissance sur le même circuit.
16. Des éclaboussures peuvent survenir si le couvercle est soulevé
pendant le cycle de chauffage.
17. Ne posez la bouilloire que sur une surface rigide, plane et d’aplomb
pour ne pas entraver la circulation de l’air sous elle.
18. Prenez toutes les précautions qui s’imposent quand vous versez,
portez ou déplacez une bouilloire qui contient de l’eau bouillante.
19. Ne pas utiliser une rallonge avec cet appareil.
20. Placez la bouilloire aussi loin que possible du bord du plan de
travail.
21. Ne pas mettre aucune pièce de cette bouilloire dans un lave-
vaisselle, y compris le filtre amovible.
22. Ne tenez pas l’interrupteur en position de marche, ceci risquerait
d’endommager le mécanisme d’arrêt automatique.
23. Le corps de la bouilloire deviendra très chaud, faites attention
lorsque vous le manipulez.
Mise à la terre
Cet appareil est destiné à un usage domestique seulement. AVER-
TISSEMENT – Risque d’électrocution : Cet appareil est fourni avec
une fiche mise à la terre (à 3 broches) afin de réduire le risque de
choc électrique. La fiche ne s’insère que dans un sens dans la prise
mise à la terre. Ne pas contourner le dispositif de sécurité da la
fiche en modifiant celle-ci de façon QUELCONQUE, ni en utilisant
un adaptateur. La longueur du cordon fourni avec cet appareil a
été sélectionnée afin de réduire les risques d’enchevêtrement et de
trébuchement, causés par un cordon plus long.

Consignes d’utilisation
Caractéristiques
IMPORTANT - NE PAS TROP REMPLIT LA BOUILLOIRE. L’EAU BRÛLANTE PEUT JAILLIR
HORS DU BEC.
1. Posez la bouilloire sur une surface plane.
2. Avant de remplir la bouilloire, enlevez-la du socle chauffant et ouvrez le couvercle en
poussant sur le bouton d’ouverture du couvercle. Remplissez la bouilloire d’eau, plus qu’au
repère MIN, mais moins qu’au repère MAX. Refermez le couvercle.
3. Replacez la bouilloire sur le socle chauffant.
4. Branchez la fiche du socle chauffant dans une prise.
5. Poussez sur l’interrupteur MARCHE/ ARRÊT (I/O), la bouilloire s’arrêtera automatiquement
lorsque l’eau a atteint le point d’ébullition. Vous pouvez faire marcher de nouveau la bouil-
loire, après que l’eau atteint une certaine température en se refroidissant. REMARQUE :
Assurez-vous que rien n’entrave le fonctionnement de l’interrupteur marche/arrêt et
que le couvercle est bien fermé. La bouilloire ne pourra pas s’arrêter automatique-
ment si l’interrupteur est entravé ou si le couvercle est ouvert.
6. Levez la bouilloire du socle chauffant et versez soigneusement. Soyez extrêmement
prudent en versant l’eau de la bouilloire, afin d’éviter brûlures causées par l’eau
bouillante et par la vapeur.
7. La bouilloire ne portera l’eau à l’ébullition que si l’interrupteur est réglé de nouveau à la
position « marche ». La bouilloire peut être rangée sur le socle chauffant lorsqu’elle n’est

Il faut toujours débrancher l’appareil de la prise murale et le laisser refroidir com-
plètement, avant de le nettoyer.
• Ne jamais immerger la bouilloire, le cordon d’alimentation, ou le socle chauffant dans
l’eau. Ne pas permettre l’humidité d’entrer en contact avec le cordon d’alimentation ou
avec le socle chauffant.
• Ne jamais utiliser des produits chimiques ni des nettoyants abrasifs pour nettoyer
l’extérieur. N’utilisez pas de laine d’acier ni des objets pointus pour nettoyer l’extérieur,
puisque cela pourrait endommager l’extérieur de la bouilloire.
1. Essuyez la surface extérieure du corps de la bouilloire avec un chiffon humide ou
une solution de produit nettoyant doux. NE JAMAIS UTILISER DES PRODUITS
CHIMIQUES OU NETTOYANTSABRASIFS. Si vous utilisez un produit nettoyant pour
essuyer l’extérieur de la bouilloire, il faut essuyer les traces avec un chiffon humidifié

2. Il est important de nettoyer périodiquement le filtre qui se trouve dans le bec verseur.
Le filtre peut être obstrué puisqu’il capture la chaux et les débris minéraux. Il est facile
d’enlever le filtre du bec verseur de la bouilloire. Tirez-le vers le haut, vers l’ouverture
du bec verseur.
3. À cause de l’accumulation progressive du calcium, de la chaux et des dépôts
minéraux dans votre bouilloire, il est important de nettoyer l’intérieur de la bouilloire
périodiquement.
• Pour nettoyer l’intérieur, un détartrant pour les bouilloires peut être utilisé. Suivez
soigneusement les instructions sur l’emballage du détartrant.
• Il est également possible de nettoyer l’intérieur de la bouilloire en utilisant du vinaigre
blanc. Versez 1 tasse de vinaigre blanc et 1-2 tasses d’eau dans la bouilloire. Faites
bouillir et laissez reposer pendant quelques heures. Jetez le mélange d’eau et de
vinaigre. Remplissez la bouilloire d’eau froide propre du robinet et faites bouillir. Il est
parfois nécessaire de répéter ce processus jusqu’au point d’enlever toutes les traces
de vinaigre.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:

3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.

LEA TODA LA INFORMACIÓN SOBRE SEGURIDAD ANTES DE

Cuando use aparatos eléctricos, siempre se deben seguir las precau-

4. Se puede escaladar si levanta la tapa durante el ciclo de calenta-

6. Debe tener mucho cuidado al manipular o mover la pava, y al verter
agua hirviendo de la pava.
7. No use un cable de extensión con este artefacto.
8. Coloque la pava lejos del borde de la mesada.
9. No coloque ninguna parte de esta pava en el lavavajillas, incluyendo

Instrucciones de conexión a tierra
Este artefacto es para uso domiciliario solamente. PELIGRO - Ries-
go de descarga eléctrica: Este producto viene con un enchufe con
conexión a tierra (3 patas) para reducir el riesgo de una descarga
eléctrica. Este enchufe solo podrá conectarse en un tomacorriente
en una única posición. No intente alterar el propósito de seguri-
dad del enchufe polarizado modificándolo de NINGUNA FORMA o

IMPORTANTES - NO LLENE DE MÁS EL HERVIDOR. EL AGUA HIVIENDO PUEDE
SALIR POR EL PICO.
1. Coloque la pava sobre una superficie plana.
2. Antes de llenar la pava, remuévala de la base de alimentación y abra la tapa presion-
ando el botón de liberación de la tapa. Llene la pava por encima de la línea de MIN
pero por debajo de la línea de MAX. Trabe la tapa nuevamente en su lugar.
3. Vuelva a colocar la pava sobre la base de alimentación.
4. Conecte el enchufe de la base de alimentación a un tomacorriente.
5. Presione hacia abajo el botón de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO (I/O), la pava se apagará
automáticamente cuando hierva el agua. Cuando el agua de la pava se enfría por
debajo de cierta temperatura, podrá volver a activar nuevamente la pava. NOTA:
Verifique que la llave de encendido no tenga ninguna obstrucción y que la tapa
esté bien cerrada, la pava no se apagará si la llave está obstruida o si la tapa
está abierta.
6. Levante la pava de la base de alimentación y vierta el agua con cuidado. Vierta el
agua con mucho cuidado para evitar quemaduras causadas por el agua hirvien-
do y el vapor.
7. La pava no volverá a hervir agua hasta que se vuelva a presionar la llave. Puede
guardar la pava sobre la base de alimentación cuando no la use. Siempre desen-
chufe el cable de alimentación del tomacorriente cuando no la use.
Protección contra funcionamiento en seco: Si deja accidentalmente funcionando la
pava sin agua, la función de funcionamiento en seco apagará automáticamente la ali-
mentación. Si sucede esto, deje enfriar la pava antes de volver a llenarla con agua fría y
volver a usarla.
*Nota: La cobertura decorativa también actua como protección si necesita tocar la tapade-
ra mientras la tetera esta caliente.

Desenchufe siempre el artefacto del tomacorriente y deje que se enfríe completa-
mente antes de limpiarlo.
• Nunca sumerja la pava, el cable de alimentación o la base en agua. No permita que el
cable de alimentación o la base de alimentación entren en contacto con humedad.
• Nunca use productos químicos o limpiadores abrasivos para limpiar su exterior. No
use lana de acero u objetos filosos para limpiar su exterior ya que podría dañar el
exterior de la pava.
1. Repase el exterior de la pava con un trapo húmedo o con una solución suave de limp-
ieza. NUNCA USE PRODUCTOS QUÍMICOS FUERTES O LIMPIADORES. Si usa un
limpiador para repasar el exterior de la pava, luego repásela con un trapo humedecido
en agua.
2. Es importante limpiar periódicamente el filtro ubicado en el pico. El filtro atrapa sedi-
mentos y desechos minerales y podría taparse. El filtro se puede remover fácilmente
del pico de la pava deslizándolo hacia arriba, por la abertura del pico.
3. Debido a la periódica acumulación de calcio, sarro y depósitos minerales en la pava,
es importante limpiar periódicamente el interior de la pava.
• Puede usar un agente descalcificador para limpiar el interior de la pava. Siga
cuidadosamente las instrucciones del paquete del descalcificador.
• También puede limpiar el interior de la pava con vinagre blanco. Llene la pava con 1
taza de vinagre blanco y 1 o 2 tazas de agua. Haga hervir el agua y déjela reposar
por varias horas. Deseche la mezcla de agua y vinagre. Llene la pava con agua del
grifo y hágala hervir. Puede ser necesario repetir este proceso hasta que no queden
restos de vinagre.
