GFC-800 Accessory
The GFC-800 is a 80° deflection mirror used for reading barcodes at close distances with
the new DS8100A Series Scanners.
It assures that the minimum skew angle is maintened to avoid direct light reflection which
can degarde reding performance.
The reading distance of the DS8100A scanner with the GFC-800 is shifted by 451 mm
towards the scanner because of the internal optical path between the scanner and the
GFC-800 output window. Take into account the length of the internal optical path when
referring to the scanner reading diagrams to determine the mounting position.

The following procedure describes how to mount the GFC-800.
1. Prepare the DS8100A scanner to be inserted in the GFC-800 holding bracket. The
scanner should be oriented so that the output window is in front of the holding bracket.
Then, align the scanner mounting side to the holding bracket as indicated below:
2. Insert the scanner into to the GFC-800 holding bracket paying attention to the insertion
side (see step 1). Carefully push the scanner towards the internal rubber protection:
3. Fix the scanner by tightening the two screws on the holding bracket side while keeping
it pushed towards the internal rubber protection. This will guarantee an hermetic
sealing:
4. Mount the GFC-800 to the supporting frame using four bolts as indicated below:
5. Connect the DS8100A scanner according to the procedures listed in the scanner
installation manual. Although the scanner is ready to read codes after installation,
reading performance can be optimized by setting some software configuration
