the cleaner where the vacuum action takes place. It is surrounded by
brushes that gently sweep dirt and debris into the large suction opening.

1.Cleanthelterandemptytheskimmerbaskets
2. Completely close off main drain and / or second skimmer box
3. Ensure the pool water is chemically balanced
4. Adjust water returns jets downwards to minimise turbulence which can

Step 3: Setting up the Hoses
The LeafWIZARD®is supplied with 11 Main hoses and 1 Leader hose.
1. Firmly connect the Main hose sections together with enough lengths
to reach from the skimmer box to the furthest point in the pool, plus an
additional 1-2 lengths.
NOTES: a. If you require extra lengths, please contact your LeafWIZARD®
dealer. See Spare Parts section for part code.
b. Todisassembletwohoselengths,rmlysqueezethejoinand

NOTE: Some skimmer boxes require the use of an expanding or threaded
plug to effectively close off the main drain line. If you are unsure,
simply ask your local pool professional.

Step 5: Fine Tuning

moving too slowly (the main drain line and second skimmers are fully
closed.Allleafbasketsclearandthelterclean),thespeedcanbe

cleaner as shown below.
Step 4: Starting the LeafWIZARD®
1. Place the LeafWIZARD® in your pool and switch the pool pump ‘ON’
2. Turn the body of the Speed Control Valve clockwise from the ‘0’ (Fast)
position until the pool cleaner is moving along at approximately 9 metres
per minute. At this speed the drive wheel is turning at approximately 24
revolutions per minute (rpm), or 6 revolutions per 15 seconds.
3. Check the revolutions by holding the pool cleaner under the water with
the drive wheel facing up, and count the number of revolutions of the
raised notch on the drive wheel.
TIP: The LeafWIZARD can continue to operate effectively at speeds as low
as 6-7 metres per minute. DO NOT exceed 24 rpm of the left hand
drive wheel. Check as per instructions above. If the LeafWIZARD
travels too fast it will tend to brush light debris aside and may rear up,
reducing vacuum power. If it travels too slowly, the LeafWIZARD may
stall or take too long to clean the pool.

8
2. If after adjusting the vacuum opening the LeafWIZARD®is still travelling
too slowly, the speed can be increased by changing the position of the red
turbine throttle located under the grill to 4 or 5. The factory setting is 3.
Toaccesstheturbine,simplypushrmlyonthegrillatthelocationlabelled
“PRESS”andthegrillwillipopen.
Variable size vacuum opening:
To enable the LeafWIZARD®to remove palm nuts, acorns or similar types
of debris, the shape of the vacuum opening can be altered by removing the
tab on the swivel valve vaccum opening and adjusting the moveable tab as
shown.

9
Not enough traction:
1. If the LeafWIZARD®is losing traction and not turning correctly, the
traction can be increased by adjusting the red turbine throttle to position
1 or 2, and then resetting the forward speed to 24 revolutions per
minute. This will provide more traction to the wheels.

Caring for your LeafWIZARD®
DO NOT EVER:
1. Remove the LeafWIZARD®from the pool while the pump is running as
this will introduce air to the pump and cause it to lose Prime.
2. Put any oil, grease or other lubricants on the LeafWIZARD®Body or
moving parts. Water is the only lubricant required.
3. Store cleaner hose in a coiled position. It is manufactured using special
materials which enables hose memory and may cause the hose to lie
awkwardly in the water preventing the LeafWIZARD®from moving freely
around the pool.
4. Operate the LeafWIZARD®constantly at a forward speed above 24 rpm.
This drives the LeafWIZARD®much harder than required and may cause
unnecessary wear and tear not covered by warranty.

10
Maintenance & Service Tips
Operating Time: It is good practice to operate your LeafWIZARD®for the
amount of time required to clean your pool only, to maximise the life of the
product.
Flipper Arm:Theipperarmbootshouldbereplacedwhenworn
to prevent damage to the pool surface and to ensure best turning
performance.
Brushes: The brushes that surround the vacuum opening create the
suctionenvelopeandareimportantforsweepingtheoorandforproviding
optimum suction at the envelope. These parts will wear over time. Monitor
these brushes and replace if they are clearly worn.
Tyres: It is important to monitor the tread wear on the tyres. If the tyres
are balding replace them to ensure best traction and movement around the
pooloor.
Ladder (Above Ground Pools): To prevent LeafWIZARD®being caught
behind ladders in above ground pools, the ladder could be removed when
the LeafWIZARD®isoperating,oranobstacleplacedonpoolooronboth
sides of the ladder feet to prevent LeafWIZARD®moving behind the ladder.
Remove LeafWIZARD®pool cleaner when backwashing: To allow
optimumowratethroughlterandtoavoiddebriscloggingthelter
backwash system.
Protect the LeafWIZARD®:When not in use, store in a safe, shaded
area.If“shocking”yourpoolwithchemicals,removethecleanertoavoid
chemical damage.
Avoid sand & debris entering the top GRILL: If the pool surrounds are not
grassed or paved, utilise your LeafWIZARD®only when your pool requires
vacuuming and remove LeafWIZARD®from the pool when vacuuming is
complete.Sandanddebrisiseasilyvacuumedfromtheoorofthepool,
however if sand falls on top of the LeafWIZARD®fromaroundanunnished
pool, and enters via the grill it may cause the wheels to lock. If this occurs,
rstturnoffthepumpanddisconnecttheheadunit.Thenremovethegrill
and try unlocking the wheels by rotating the large gear wheel inside whilst
hosing the turbine with a jet of water from a garden hose.
Vacuum Opening: Dirt may lock the adjustment over time. Clean
periodically.
Spare Parts: If any of the parts above require replacing please see
replacement part codes on page 13.
