Compatibility
72” DaVinci Timber Fire (Single Sided)
Overview
This kit includes all the logs and media needed for installation into the 72”- single sided DaVinci Timber Fire
Fireplace. The log set has duplicates of some logs, but their positioning disguises the fact that they are the same.
Pay close attention to the log placement to ensure that the logs do not obstruct any of the burner holes.
Installation Warnings
NOTE: The fireplace should be in place and vented and the firebacks must be installed prior to installing the log set.
WARNING
The logs are fragile, especially after being exposed to heat.
Make sure the gas control valve is OFF and the heater is cool prior to conducting service.
Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifically
approved with this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
 The burner must be correctly positioned before installing the log set. Make sure the burner is fully seated and
the pilot is properly aligned. See owner’s manual for details on burner removal.
72” Timber Fire Log Installation Overview
This log set is used in the single sided 72” version of the Timber Fire. There are multiple of some logs in the set.
Some face the service side of the fireplace and the other of the same log will face the back wall of the firebox so
only the back portion of the log is visible.
NOTE: Make sure that the firebacks are installed before installing the log set.

Tools Required
Glass lifting suction cup set (sku# - 94400914)
Installation Notes
WARNINGS:
Make sure the gas control valve is OFF and the heater is cool prior to conducting service.
Failure to position the parts in accordance with these diagrams or failure to use only parts specifically approved
with this appliance may result in property damage or personal injury.
HINTS:
The fireplace should be in place, with the gas line and vent attached and the firebacks installed.
ORDER OF INSTALLATION:
Remove the burner
Remove the log grate(s).
Dress the media tray with Ember-Glo™ glass.
Reinstall the log grate(s)
Reinstall burner
Place the logs as shown.
Place ember chunks on the Ember-Glo glass.
Reinstall the inner glass pane
Reinstall the inner fireback filler pieces (removed to install firebacks).
Dress the outer media tray with Ember-Glo glass
Place ember chunks on the Ember-Glo glass.
Reinstall the outer glass pane
Reinstall the outer fireback filler pieces (removed to install firebacks).
Reinstall the barrier screen (removed to install firebacks).

Firebox Preparation
1. Remove the (6) screws that secure the burner to the fireplace. Set the screws aside for reinstallation.
2. Remove the burner by lifting the assembly straight up and remove it from the fireplace.
3. Use a 1/4" driver to remove the screws (4) screws (1 on each end of both log grates) that secure the log grates
to the fireplace. Set the screws aside for reinstallation.


4. Remove each of the log grates from the fireplace.
5. If not already done, Install the firebacks at this time (see instructions in the appliance manual).

6. Install Ember-Glo glass onto the inner
media tray (Not the outer media tray
between the location of the two pieces
of glass). Spread the glass over the
media tray so that none of the metal
media tray is visible.
NOTE: There are holes where the legs of
the log grates penetrate the media tray. Do
not allow any glass to go down in those
holes. After the grates are reinstalled, more
glass will be used to fill in around the legs of
the grate to disguise the media tray.
7. Reinstall the log grates. Secure them
to the fireplace using the screws
removed earlier. Use more of the
Ember-Glo glass to cover the
remainder of the inner media tray.



8. Reinstall the burner into the fireplace. The firebox should now look as shown below.
9. Install one of the log #1's in the
back left corner of the log grate.
The front of this log is the side
with the least amount of charring.
When placing this log note that
the front of the log (shown to the
right) faces the back wall of the
firebox. There is a rectangular
cutout in the bottom rear of the
log that fits over the pilot shield.
Place the log on the log grate.
There are notches in the bottom
of the log that rest align with the
log grate fingers. With the log in
place, slide the log away from
the burner and towards the back
wall of the firebox.

10. Install the second log #1 in the
front right corner for the log
grate. The front of this log (side
with the least amount of charring)
should face you. The log rests
on the log grate in the same
manner as the previous log. With
the log on the grate, move it
forward (away from the burner)
until it is up against the vertical
log grate fingers.

11. Install one of the #2 logs on the
back right of the log grate as
shown to the right. Looking at
the back of the log, there is a
cutout in the right end of the log
that fits around the left end of the
burner cluster shield. A small
portion of the log overlaps the
rear of the shield. Small notches
in the bottom of the log rest on
the horizontal fingers of the log
grate. Push the log backward
(away from the burner) until it is
up against the vertical rear log
grate fingers.

12. Install the second #2 log in the left,
front corner of the log grate. The front
of the log faces you. There are three
notches on the bottom of the log that
rest on the third, fourth, and fifth
horizontal log grate fingers. Pull the
log forward (away from the burner)
until it is against the vertical front log
grate fingers.

13. Install one of the #3 logs as shown
to the right. The front of the log
faces the rear glass and fits
between the two rear logs already
installed. Looking at the rear of the
log, there is a cutout on the left end
of the log. The cutout fits around
the right and front of the burner
cluster shield. Push the log
backward until it is up against the
vertical fingers of the rear log grate.
The left end of the log should be
touching the end of log #1. There
should be a small gap between the
right end of the log and the end of
log #2.

14. Install the second log #3 as
shown. The front of the log faces
forward. The log installs in the
same manner as the previous log,
just facing the front of the
fireplace. The right end of the log
should completely obscure the
front of the burner cluster shield.
The char marks on the front of the
log should be visible between the
log grate fingers and there should
be a small gap between the left
end of the log and the end of log
#2.

15. Install one of the log #4's as shown
to the right. The front of the log
faces the wall of the firebox. Install
the log on the right rear corner of
the log grate. Looking at the back
of the log, there is a large cutout on
the left end of the log. The cutout
fits around the burner cluster shield.
With the log on the log grate, move
it left until it is up against log #2.
Push the log backward until it is up
against the rear vertical log grate
fingers.

16. Install the remaining log #4 as shown
to the right. The log installs in the
same manner as the previous log but
faces the front of the fireplace. The
right end of the log should
completely obscure the front of the
burner cluster shield. The char mark
on the front of the log should be
visible between the log grate fingers.

17. Use the (4) burner cluster cover
pieces to obscure the view of the (4)
burner clusters. The mouse hole in
the burner cluster cover should line
up with the mouse hole in the burner
cluster. There is a ridge along the
back of each of the burner cluster
covers that rests on the top edge of
the metal surround of each of the
mouse hole covers
18. Install (15) of the (17) log placement pins in the holes indicated. The other 2 pins will be installed in a later step.



19. Install the small log filler piece as shown below. The filler
piece fits tightly up against the cut branch on the left rear
log #1. There is a hole on the bottom of the filler piece
that rests on the log placement pin #5 (see step 18).


20. Install the large log filler piece as shown below. The filler piece fills
the space between the right side of the cut branch on log #1 and the
left side of the cut branch on log #3. This filler piece does not rest
on a log locating pin but just locks into place between the two base
logs (log #1 & log #3). The filler will also be held in place by a log
installed in a later step.



HINT: Telling the difference between log #5 & log
#6. Look at the top of both logs. The top of log #5
has a hole for a log locating pin and the top of log
#6 does not.
21. Install one of the #5 logs
as shown to the right.

23. Install log #6 as shown to
the right. There is a hole on
the bottom of log #6 that
rests over log locating pin
#8. The charred end of the
log points at the charred
end of the first #5 log
installed in step #22. The
placement of these two logs
in relation to each other
should create a look of a
single log that has burned
through the middle. Make
any adjustments to the
angles of the lots to create
that appearance.
HINT: When placing the log move it and the filler piece around until they
lock in place against each other.
24. Install the other log #6 as
shown to the right. There
is a hole in the bottom of
the log that rests on log
locating pin #9 (see step
18). The chared end of the
log points at the charred
end of the #5 log installed
in step #21.
25. Install the last (2) log locating pins in the holes indicated on the #5 logs.

26. Install the #5 log as shown below. Log #5 has two holes on the bottom that rest over log locating pins #6 (see step
#18) and pin #16 (see step #25). The round hole rests on pin #6 and the elongated hole rests on pin #16 as shown
below.



27. Install one of the #8 logs (1 of 3) as shown. The hole on the right end of the log rests over pin #10 (see step 18).
The hole in the left end of the log rests over pin #16 (see step #23). The arc of the log points towards the center-

30. Install log #9 logs as shown. Log #9 has 2 elongated holes on the bottom of the log that rest over log placement pins
#3 & #4. The cut branch on the top of the log points towards the front center of the fireplace.





NOTE: You may need to lift the left end of log #7
slightly to place this log #9.

31. Install Log #10 as shown. Log #10 has two elongated holes on the bottom of the log that rest over log placement
pins #12 & #13 (see step #18). The cut branch on the top of the log points towards the center rear of the fireplace.



NOTE: There is a notch on the bottom left of the log that fits over a knot on
the top of log #2. The picture to the right shows the placement of the log
with log #8 removed for clarity.


32. Place ember chunks on top of the Ember-Glo glass in front and to the sides of the log grate.

NOTE: Make sure that no glass or ember chunks are obstructing the slot where the inner glass will rest. If anything
has fallen into the slot, remove it with a vacuum, small screwdriver, or compressed air.
33. Reinstall the inner glass using the glass lifting suction cup set. Take care not to damage the edges of the glass
when placing it back on the fireplace. Place the inner fireback filler pieces back in place. They are held in place by
magnets. Place the bottom edge of the filler piece in the lower corner of the opening and then tilt the filler up until
the magnet secures it to the fireplace.
34. Place Ember-Glo glass over the outer media tray. Make sure the media tray is completely covered so none of the
metal of the media tray is visible.

