BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR USING YOUR CHIMENEA FOR THE FIRST TIME
Before you assemble, install, place or use this product for the rst time, read and follow the supplied instructions
and safety warnings. Failure to observe these instructions, incorrect or improper installation, placement,
adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance may cause property damage, personal injury or death.
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
• Always wear re / heat proof gloves when handling the Chimenea and fuel.
• Always place your Chimenea on a non combustible surface. If placing on grass, use a protective hearth (pavers or tiles for
example) to prevent an accidental re starting). Ensure surrounding grass is not too dry.
• Do not place the Chimenea on unprotected decking or tiles, always use a protective hearth underneath the Chimenea.
• Ensure the Chimenea is placed on a rm, level surface, not on a sloping surface.
• Do Not use the chimenena if it has been exposed to rain or water.
• Always allow the chimenea to thouroughly dry before ring.
• Do not block any air inlets to the Chimenea as this may cause the product to overheat.
• Avoid placing the product on thick grass or soft ground such as sand as this may block the air inlets.
• Position your Chimenea away from any building structures (house, pergola, garage, shed, trees, furniture).
• Check the weather forecast before using the Chimenea. Don’t use your Chimenea during high winds.
• Never pour any liquid fuel onto a re that is already alight.
• Make sure that the re is completely extinguished before you leave the Chimenea unattended.
• Do not disassemble or modify the Chimenea in any manner other than as described within these instructions.
• Installation clearance requirements must be adhered to. Please read the section on installation clearances before installing
or placing this Chimenea.
• Keep any combustible materials (such as unprotected decks, furniture), at least 1.5 metres away from the Chimenea.
• Avoid installing or operating the Chimenea, where a direct draft may affect or fan the ames.
• Do not cover or surround the Chimenea with insulating materials.
OPERATING SAFETY WARNINGS
• Do not operate this Chimenea during a total re ban. Always observe any local or state re warnings.
• The chimenea may emit sparks and embers during operation.
• Do Not use gasoline, petrol, ethanol, alcohol, turpentine, kerosene, lighter uids or any other liquid fuels to start or restart
a re. This is dangerous and may result in an explosion.
• While the Chimenea is operating or hot, do not touch the main heating surface or immediate surroundings as these areas
may be hot and could cause burns.
• Do not overll or overload the chimenea - Always observe maximum fuel load recommendations - Do not allow wood to
spill out of the chimenea body. If overloaded, excess ames and heat may damage the chimenea.
• Do not use the Chimenea for any purpose other than its intended use.
• To prevent accidental re and / or smoke damage, remove all packaging before operating.
• This Chimenea is designed to burn only untreated soft and hardwood fuels. Under no circumstances is this Chimenea to
be modied or retrotted to burn any fuel other than what is described in these instructions.
• This chimenea must not be used in conjunction with a gas log set or any other fuel system.
• Do not heat any unopened plastic, glass or metal containers on the Chimenea. Pressure may build up and cause the
container to burst, resulting in serious personal injury or death, property damage or damage to the Chimenea.
• Never move the Chimenea when it is operating or hot.
• Do not use the Chimenea as an incinerator - Never burn waste materials such as plastics or garbage in this Chimenea.
• Do not use this Chimenea while under the inuence of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs
or, any substance that may impair sound judgment.
• Do not extinguish the re with cold water - this may damage the Chimenea. Always use sand or, allow the re to burn
itself out naturally.
• Use re tools to load and manage the re - never use your bare hands.
• Avoid loose clothing while operating the Chimenea.
FUEL HANDLING SAFETY WARNINGS
• Store wood fuel in a cool dry place - away from the possibility of sparks or embers.
• Keep fuels and re-starters away from children and animals.
• Do not place any ammable liquid or gas fuels or fuel containers within 10 metres around the Chimenea and always
ensure that any fuel containers or cylinders nearby are sealed to prevent escaping vapour.

CHILD & PET SAFETY WARNING
• Never let children operate the Chimenea without close supervision
• Never leave the Chimenea unattended while in use. Monitor any child or pet activities around the Chimenea at all times.
• Chimeneas and chimineas contain hot working surfaces that, if touched, may cause skin burns or scalding.
• Never leave children or pets unattended in the area where the Chimenea is being used.
• Fireplace surfaces are hot during use. Close supervision of children is necessary when this appliance is operating. Do not
store items of interest to children on, around or below the Chimenea. Children climbing on the Chimenea, to reach items,
could damage the Chimenea or be burned or seriously injured.
• Never allow children to sit or stand on any part of the Chimenea.
• Always allow hot re tools and accessories to cool in a safe place, out of reach of children.
• We recommend the use of a re screen or guard to prevent children or pets from coming into direct contact with the
surfaces of the Chimenea while it is in use or hot.
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SAFETY WARNINGS
• Always check the Chimenea prior to each use - do not use the Chimenea if there is a fault.
• Unless specically recommended in this manual, do not attempt to repair or replace any part of the appliance yourself.
• Only use genuine replacement parts.
• Any repairs to this product must be carried out by a qualied service person.
• Do not operate the product if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Call our customer service number for
information on examination or mechanical repair or adjustment of this product.
IN THE EVENT OF ACCIDENTAL FIRE
• In the event of an accidental re, immediately turn the Chimenea off by smothering the ames with sand or a re
extinguisher.
• For emergency purposes, we recommend the installation of an approved re extinguisher in the vicinity of where the
Chimenea is installed.
Minimum Clearances To Combustibles
Around the Chimenea:
Minimum of 1.5 Metres to
combustible materials.
Above the Chimenea:
Minimum of 4 Metres to combustible materials
Do not use the Chimenea under any awning
or pergola if there is a risk of the structure or
materials igniting. or being damaged by the heat.
Liquid or Gas Fuels
Minimum of 10 Metres - Do not
store any liquid or gas fuels, cylinders
or containers in the vicinity of the
Chimenea. Ensure all fuel containers are
sealed tight to prevent escaping vapours

UNPACKING YOUR CHIMENEA
• Due to the weight - this product requires two
people to lift the Chimenea components from the
carton.
• Lay carton on a level surface, place a sheet or
blanket on the ground to protect the surfaces of the
Chimenea when handling and unpacking.
• Carefully remove chimenea components from both
cartons and remove all packaging materials from the
product prior to rst use.

ASSEMBLY
The chimenea is designed to be used on a non
combustible hearth, cement or pavers.
If using the metal stand provided - start at step 1. If not
using the metal stand proceed from step 2.
(Observe all warnings and clearances).

the ue into the top of the
chimenea body.

USING YOUR CHIMENEA
IMPORTANT: BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR USING YOUR CHIMENEA FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Always position your Chimenea on a rm and level surface.
• Follow all operating & safety instructions in this manual prior to using your Chimenea for both the rst time and
subsequent uses.
• The chimenea should be kept covered and dry at all times when not in use - to avoid any stress or damage when
operating. If the chimenea has been wet at any time - always allow the unit to dry completely before lighting and use.
• In particularly cold regions where snow and ice may be present, the chimenea must be covered and protected from the
elements - never operate the chimenea if ice has collected on the body or ue.
FUEL TYPE & LOADING
• This Chimenea is designed to burn wood only.
• Do not burn coal or coal briquettes.
• The chimenea is designed to burn small logs - approx 100mm / 4in in
diameter or less (as a guide) and a total fuel load not exceeding 3-4 KGS at
any one time. Exceeding this recommendation may damage the chimenea.
FIRST FIRING
When using the Chimenea for the rst time - always start with a SMALL re
and allow this to run until the initial fuel load is burnt through. This will assist the
Chimenea materials to cure and settle. Excessive fuel when starting will cause
excessive, undesirable smoke.
STARTING THE FIRE
• Use a small amount of kindling and some re starters - or wadded
newspaper to get the re started.Ensure the re is burning well before adding
more fuel.
• Once the kindling is well alight, you can slowly start to add some more
rewood. and allow the re to build naturally.
• Add rewood as required.
• Nut never overload the chimenea it is uneccessary and a waste of fuel.
Sufcient heat will be radiated from the chimenea with just a small load of
fuel at any one time.
EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE
DO NOT use cold water to extinguish the ames as this may damage chimenea.
Generally, the re should always be allowed to die out naturally. However, if
immediate shutdown of the re is required, use sand to smother the ames. As
a safety precaution, always remember that coals can remain hot and glowing for
a few days.
When emptying the chimenea for cleaning or maintenance, always use a steel
bucket to retain left over coals and sand.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Maintaining and caring for your Chimenea is easy, with just a few simple steps to follow.
IMPORTANT TIPS:
• Never clean the Chimenea when it is hot or still contains hot coals.
• Always allow the Chimenea to cool completely before cleaning or maintenance.
• Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, sprays or highly abrasive cleaning tools.
• Do not use high pressure water blasting devices to clean the surfaces of the Chimenea body as this may damage or
remove the surface coating.
• Always check any cleaning product on a small area of the underside of the product to conrm it is safe to use.
AFTER EACH USE
Chimenea:
• Empty the sand and any debris from chimenea into a metal container or bucket.
• Remove any debris from the sand. Sand may be reused but avoid using sand that is wet or damp as this will increase the
rate of corrosion of the steel re bowl.
• Gently clean (wipe) the chimenea with a damp sponge using a mild detergent and warm water.
• Rinse off the chimenea body with clean water and allow to dry.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
• Depending on the amount of use - at least once or twice a year - the Chimenea should be cleaned according to the care
and maintenance instructions supplied in these instructions.
• The chimenea should be inspected to ensure it is not cracked or split. In the event the chimenea is cracked or split - it
should be replaced.
• To maintain the look of the chimenea, it should be periodically re-painted, using a high temperature paint.
(Available from your retailer).
• When choosing a suitable paint, only use high teperature paints designed for stoves or replaces.
STORAGE
When not in use, the Chimenea must be protected from exposure to the elements: e.g. Sun, Wind, Rain, Dust, Snow and Ice.
Cover the chimenea at all times when not in use or move the Chimenea to a covered outdoor space or store the unit in a
dry environment, for example, a garage or suitable storage space.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.You
are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not
amount to a major failure. The benets to the consumer given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies
of the consumer under the law in relation to the goods and services to which the warranty relates.
Term
Mayo Hardware Pty Ltd warrants this Décore™ product to be free from manufacturing defects
for a period of 12 months commencing from the date of purchase.
Conditions
• This warranty covers manufacturer’s faults and defects only.
Items not covered by this warranty:
• Working surfaces or components unless it is a clear defect or manufacturing fault.
• Deterioration as a result of exposure to the elements.
• Damage caused by adverse weather conditions, fair wear and tear, accidents, misuse, negligence, re, ood, hail,
earthquakes or other natural disasters
• Alternations or repairs undertaken by an unauthorised service person.
• This warranty does not extend to commercial use of the product.
If a defect occurs during the warranty period and you wish to obtain a replacement, please forward to Mayo
Hardware Pty Ltd a written description and photographs of the claimed defect, and a copy of the original receipt
or proof of purchase. Full documentation must be provided within 28 days of the occurrence that leads to a claim.
Any expenses incurred by the consumer in making the warranty claim are at the cost of the consumer.
Mayo Hardware Pty Ltd reserves the right to determine manufacturing faults at their discretion. In the interests
of ongoing product development and improvement the manufacturer reserves the right to discontinue or change
specications or designs at any time without notice and without incurring obligations.
