PRESENTATION OF THE BOILER
MAIN DIMENSIONS
The SGC 24 SOL is an all-in-one multi-energy solution, combining the
performance of a gas-fired condensing boiler and the production of
domestic hot water using an integrated solar calorifier.
The design of the SGC 24 SOL boiler has been based totally on
current preoccupations regarding high performance alongside
energy savings and environmental protection.

and control the solar circuit, loading of the solar DHW tank,
guarantees protection against overheating and repeated
shutdowns.
- The Easymatic or Easyradio communicating remote controls,
whether or not they are combined with an outside sensor
(available as optional equipment) are used to optimise DHW
tank loading and operation in condensing mode.
Solar DHW calorifier
- Comprising a 200-litre enamelled solar DHW double coil
calorifier positioned and incorporated under the boiler,
protected by a magnesium anode.
- DHW calorifier equipped with a solar unit comprising the
pumps, the safety control unit, the filling and draining device
for the solar circuit, the thermometer, the collector and tank
sensors, the pressure gauge, the manual vent degasser, the
8-litre solar expansion vessel, the 14-litre glycol tank and the
thermostatic mixer valve.
The SGC 24 SOL is particularly easy to install:
- Boiler delivered fully assembled and fitted in 1 package (ex
forced flue).
- Holes for the insertion of carrying bars allowing it to be
easily put in place.
- Accessibility to all components from the front of the boiler for
easy maintenance.
- Optional water and gas connection kits available, with
heating and DHW safety valves.
- Delivered with a horizontal forced flue (homologation
C13x) or a vertical forced flue (homologation C33x); can be
connected to a chimney (homologation B23P), or in bi-flow
(homologation C53) (options).

The programmable thermostats handle the
regulation and weekly programming of heating
by activating the burner in accordance with the
various operating modes: “Automatic” depending
on programming, “Permanent” at a set temperature
or “Holidays”. The “wireless” version is delivered
with a receiver box to be affixed to the wall close
to the boiler.
The non-programmable thermostat is used to
regulate the room temperature according to the
instruction given by activation of the burner.

These remote controls handle heating regulation
and weekly programming by activating the burner
and the circulating pump on the direct circuit or
the valve circuit (if one exists) as a function of
the outside temperature according to several
operating modes: “Automatic” according to
programming, “Permanent comfort”, “Reduced
permanent”, “Holidays” or “Summer”. Likewise,
they handle the regulation and programming of
domestic hot water. Should an incident occur, they
automatically display a code relative to the fault
observed, thus facilitating the search for the cause
of the malfunction.

The materials used for the condensates flow
pipes must be appropriate; otherwise the
condensates must be neutralised. A regular check
of the neutralisation system and particularly the
effectiveness of the granules by measuring the pH

INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION
The installation and maintenance of the appliance, whether in a
residential building or in a building open to the public, must be carried out by a qualified professional in compliance with the statutory texts and codes of practice in force.
S TATUTORY INSTRUCTIONS ON INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE
I NSTALLATION
SGC 24 SOL condensation boilers must be installed in premises
protected from frost, which can also be ventilated.
In order to avoid damage to boilers, it is necessary to prevent the contamination of combustive air by chloride and/
or fluoride compounds, which are particularly corrosive. These compounds are present, for example, in aerosol spray
cans, paints, solvents, cleaning products, washing powders/liquids, detergents, glues, snow clearing salts, etc. You should
therefore:
- Avoid taking in air discharged from premises using such products: hairdressers, dry cleaners, industrial premises (solvents), premises
containing refrigeration systems (risk of leaking refrigeration fluid), etc.
- Avoid the storage of such products close to boilers.
Please note that, if the boiler and/or its peripherals become corroded by chloride and/or fluoride compounds, our contractual
warranty cannot be invoked.

G AS CONNECTION
Compliance with prevailing instructions and regulations is
mandatory. In all cases, a sectional valve is fitted as close as possible
to the boiler. This valve is delivered prefitted to the central and
right/left hydraulic connection kits available as optional equipment.
A gas filter must be fitted to the boiler inlet.
The diameters of the pipes must be defined according to the
prevailing regulations.
Gas supply pressure:
- 20 mbar on natural gas H, 25 mbar on natural gas L,
- 37 mbar on propane,
- 28 mbar on butane.
Certificate of conformity
The installer is required to draw up a certificate of conformity approved by the ministers responsible for construction and gas safety.
E LECTRICAL CONNECTION
This must comply with the prevailing national or even local
instructions and regulations.
The boiler must be powered by an electrical circuit comprising
an omnipolar switch with an opening gap > 3 mm. Protect the
connection to the mains with a 6A fuse.
Note:
- The sensor cables must be separated from the 230 V circuits by
at least 10 cm,
- In order to protect the pump antifreeze and cleaning functions,
we recommend not switching off the boiler at the mains switch.
Ventilation
This must comply with prevailing regulations.
H YDRAULIC CONNECTION
➩ Solar circuit, a few reminders:
Connection pipes between the collector field and the lower
exchanger in the solar calorifier, routed with a constant
downward slope as direct as possible, must be:
- tubular copper pipes preferably (synthetic materials should be
avoided because of the high temperatures) (Ø in accordance
with the table opposite),
- welded with strong brazing filler metal without flux (L-Ag2P or
L-CuP6),
- union connectors that can only be used if they are resistant to
Glycol, the pressure (6 bars) and the temperature (-30°C to
+180°C),
- a manual air vent valve is recommended at the high point,
- Suitable insulation: see recommendations in the “DIETRISOL”
technical manual.

INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION
SGC 24 SOL boilers must only be used in closed-circuit heating
installations, cleaned before use to eliminate the residues and
deposits caused by commissioning the installation. Furthermore, it is
important to protect central heating installations against the risk of
corrosion, scaling and microbiological growth: the water treatment
products used must comply with regulations.
➩ Heating circuit
Installation examples:
The examples presented below cannot cover the full range of
installation scenarios which may be encountered. Their purpose
is to draw the attention to the basic rules to be followed. A
certain number of control and safety devices (some of which are
already integrated as standard in the boilers) are shown but it is
ultimately up to installers, experts, consultant engineers and design
departments to take the final decision on the safety and control
devices to be used in the boiler room according to its specificities.
In all cases, it is necessary to abide by the codes of practice and
prevailing regulations.
Attention: For the connection of domestic hot water, a sleeve
made of steel, cast iron or any other insulating material must be
interposed between the hot water outlet and these pipes to prevent
any corrosion to the connections, if the distribution pipes are made
of copper.

Condensates discharge
The siphon provided must be connected to the waste water
discharge system. The connection must be removable and the
flow of condensates visible. The connections and pipes must be in
corrosion-resistant materials. An optional condensates neutralisation
system is available (package HC 33 see page 5).
