You can upgrade your processor to take advantage of future options in speed and
functionality. Each processor and its associated cache memory are contained in a pin-grid
array (PGA) package that is installed in a ZIF socket on the system board.
Replacing the Processor
CAUTION: See your System Information Guide for complete information about
safety precautions, working inside the computer, and protecting against
electrostatic discharge.
CAUTION: The processor and heat sink can get very hot during normal operation.
Ensure that they have had sufficient time to cool before you touch them.
1Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the
electrical outlet.
2Press the power button to ground the system board.
3If you have installed a padlock through the padlock ring on the back panel, remove
the padlock.
4Lay the system on its side as shown in Figure 1-1.
NOTICE: Ensure that sufficient space exists to accommodate the open cover—at least 30 cm
(1 ft) of desktop space.
5Open the system by pushing the buttons on both ends and lifting the cover open.

6Rotate the processor cooling shroud up to access the processor and heat sink.

7Remove the processor heat sink. See Figure 1-3.
aRemove one retention module clip by pressing the tab on the clip and lifting
the retention module clip up.
bWhile pulling the retention module tab out, lift the heat sink away from
the processor.

8Pull the processor socket release lever straight up until the processor is released.
See Figure 1-4.

NOTICE: Be careful not to bend any of the pins when you remove the processor from
the socket. Bending the pins can permanently damage the processor.
9Remove the processor from the socket and leave the release lever in the release
position so that the socket is ready for the new processor.
10 Align pin 1 (the imprinted corner) of the processor and pin 1 of the socket.
See Figure 1-5.
NOTICE: Processor pins are delicate. To avoid damage, ensure that the processor aligns
properly with the socket, and do not use excessive force when you install the processor.
11 Carefully set the processor in the socket and press it down lightly to seat it.
12 Rotate the release lever back toward the system board until it snaps into place,
securing the processor.

13 Remove the thermal grease protective cover from the heat sink.
NOTICE: If your heat sink has cooling pipes, orient the heat sink so that the cooling pipes are
toward the memory modules to prevent damage to system board components.

14 Place one end of the heat sink under the retention module tab on the side opposite
the removed clip, and lower the heat sink onto the processor until the heat sink snaps
securely in the retention module. See Figure 1-3.
15 Replace the retention module clip by pressing in on the tab and lowering that end
of the clip into the retention module. See Figure 1-3.
16 Rotate the processor cooling shroud down. See Figure 1-2.
17 Close the system cover:
aPivot the cover down and into position. See Figure 1-1.
bPress down on the cover to close it.
18 If you are using a padlock to secure your system, install the padlock.
19 Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and attached
peripherals.

注意：从插槽中卸下处理器时，请小心不要弄弯任何插针 弄弯插针将对处理器造成无法修复的损
坏
9从插槽中 出处理器，并使释放拉杆保留在释放位置，以便在插槽中安装新的处理器。
10 将处理器的 1 号插针 （印有标记的一角）与插槽上的 1 号插针对齐。

注意：处理器的插针非常精细 请务必将处理器与插槽正确对齐，并且轻轻安装处理器，以免发生
损坏
11 小心地将处理器放入插槽，轻轻向下按压处理器直至其固定到位。
12 向后朝主机板方向转动释放拉杆，直至拉杆卡入到位并固定处理器。

13 从散热器上卸下散热膏保护盖。

14 将散热器的一端放在已卸下固定夹相对一侧的模块固定舌片下面，然后将散热器朝处理器放下，直到
散热器稳固地卡入固定模块。

15 按住舌片并将固定夹这一端放入固定模块，将模块固定夹放回原位。
请参阅图 1-3。
16 转下处理器冷却通风罩。
请参阅图 1-2。
17 关闭主机盖：
a将主机盖 下旋转到原来位置。
请参阅图 1-1。
b按下主机盖，将系统关闭。
18 如果需要使用挂锁保护您的系统，请安装挂锁。
19 将系统重新连接至电源插座，然后打开系统并连接外围设备。

Vous pouvez mettre à niveau votre processeur pour tirer parti de nouvelles fréquences et
fonctionnalités. Chaque processeur et sa mémoire cache associée sont contenus dans un
boîtier PGA (Pin-Grid Array [matrice de broches]), installé dans un support ZIF de la carte
système.
Remplacement du processeur
ATTENTION : consultez votre Guide d'informations du système pour obtenir
des informations détaillées sur les consignes de sécurité, les interventions
dans l'ordinateur et la protection contre les décharges électrostatiques.
ATTENTION : le processeur et le dissipateur de chaleur peuvent chauffer
fortement en fonctionnement normal. Laissez-leur le temps de refroidir
avant de les toucher.
1Éteignez le système et les périphériques qui y sont raccordés, puis débranchez
le système de la prise de courant.
2Appuyez sur le bouton d'alimentation pour mettre la carte système à la masse.
3Si vous avez installé un cadenas dans l'anneau correspondant du panneau arrière,
retirez-le.
4Couchez le système sur le côté comme l'indique la figure 1-1.
AVIS : vérifiez qu'il y a assez de place sur le bureau (au moins 30 cm) pour ouvrir le capot.
5Ouvrez le système en appuyant sur les boutons situés à chaque extrémité et en
soulevant le capot. Reportez-vous à la figure 1-1.

6Faites pivoter le carénage de refroidissement pour accéder au dissipateur thermique
et au processeur. Reportez-vous à la figure 1-2.
