ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
2
IMPORTANT: Installation must be carried out according to the manufacturer’s
instructions. Incorrect installation may cause harm and damage to people,
animals or property, for which the manufacturer accepts no responsibility.
Before carrying out any work on the electrical section of the appliance, it must be
disconnected from the mains.
Connection to a good earth wiring system is absolutely essential. This appliance
incorporates an earth connection for functional purposes only.
The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any inconvenience caused by
failure to comply with this rule.
If the hob surface is cracked disconnect the appliance from the mains and contact
the After-Sales Service.
If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced only by an authorized
service agent in order to avoid a hazard.
ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Connection to the electric power supply must be carried out by a qualied technician
following the appropriate safety regulations and according to the local Regulations in
force.
• The appliance must be connected to the mains checking that the voltage corresponds
to the value given in the rating plate and that the electrical cable sections can withstand
the load specied on the plate.
• This cooktop has been designed with a power limiter to ensure the cooktop does not
exceed 2200W, allowing it to be plugged into a standard 10amp power socket, and it
is provided with a 10A power plug.
The plug must be inserted into a socket connected to the earth system in compliance
with safety rules. To connect the hob to the mains power supply, do not use adapters,
reducers, or branching devices, as they can cause overheating and re.
• The appliance can be connected directly to the mains placing a two pole switch with
minimum opening between the contacts of 3 mm between the appliance and the mains.
• A suitable isolating switch providing full disconnection from the mains power supply
(under overvoltage category III conditions) shall be incorporated in the permanent
wiring, mounted and positioned to comply with the local wiring rules and regulations.
The isolating switch must be of an approved type and provide a 3 mm air gap contact
separation in all poles (or in all active [phase] conductors if the local wiring rules allow
for this variation of the requirements).
In Australia and New Zealand, a switch of the approved type with a 3 mm air gap must
be installed in the active (phase) conductor of the xed wiring.
• The power supply cable must not touch the hot parts and must be positioned so that it
does not exceed 50°C above ambient.
• Once the appliance has been installed, the switch or socket must always be in a
accessible position.
• The appliance must be powered individually; any other appliance installed nearby
must be powered separately.
N.B. For connections to the mains power supply, never use adaptors, reductions or
multiplepowerpointsasthesemayoverheatandcatchre.
In the event that installation should require modications to the mains supply wiring system,
it is recommended that a qualied technician be called to carry out substitution.
He should also check that the domestic electrical system is suitable for the power absorbed
by the appliance.
