Installation Guide M100-IP Gatewaymodul
M100-IP Gatewaymodul
for an OpenCom 130 and
an OpenCom 150
The Media Gateway transforms VoIP
voice data into PCM audio data. This
functionality converts voice data
between VoIP telephones and all other
terminal types. Without the Media
Gateway, VoIP telephones can only
exchange call data directly with other
VoIP telephones. Even an external tele-
phone call with an VoIP telephone
requires the Media Gateway function-
ality. For a maximum of three VoIP
terminals, one Media-Gateway channel
should be available.
The M100-IP Gatewaymodul interface
card provides 8 Media Gateway chan-
nels for VoIP.
With an OpenCom 130 the MGW inter-
face card can be operated in slot 2 or
slot 3.
With an OpenCom 150 up to two MGW
interface cards can be operated in
slots 3 and 4.
Technical data
■The MGW interface card is con-
nected via the slot to the internal
ethernet Switch. There are no ex-
ternal ports via pressure terminals.
■The MGW interface card supports:
all codecs used by VoIP telephones,
silence detection, echo suppres-
sion and DTMF tone detection.
■The MGW interface card can not be
operated in a slave system.
■The MGW interface card contains
the required software in its own
Flash memory. In the event of a
power failure, all the contents in
the memory are saved. An update
of this software is accomplished
with a separate file in the Configu-
rator via the SYS Configuration:
Components.
