CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The humidifier must be cleaned bef re each use.
1. Disconnect all tubing fro the hu idifier ports.
2. Disasse ble the hu idifier cha ber by oving
each of the slide latches (Figure 6) to the
unlocked ( ) position and separate the cha -
ber lid fro the cha ber base.
3. Re ove the o-ring seal fro the cha ber base.
If necessary, use a blunt instru ent to assist in
re oving the o-ring seal. Use care to prevent
cutting the o-ring during re oval.
4. Wash the tubing, o-ring seal, cha ber lid and
cha ber base in a solution of war water and
ild dishwashing detergent. Rinse the parts
thoroughly and allow to air dry before reusing.
Once the hu idifier parts are clean and dry, reasse ble
the hu idifier as follows:
1. Replace the o-ring into the o-ring groove along
the edge of the cha ber base. Ensure that o-ring
is positioned in the groove along the entire
length.
2. Asse ble the cha ber lid to the cha ber base
by first ensuring that each of the slide latches
are in the unlocked ( ) position (Figure 6).
3. Place the cha ber lid onto the cha ber base
and slide the six latches into the locked ( )
position (Figure 7). Inspect the o-ring seal and
verify that the o-ring is properly seated.
4. Fir ly reconnect the 15" connector tubing and
the patient circuitry to the hu idifier ports.
NOTE –The hu idifier cha ber lid and base are dish-
washer safe if placed in the top rack of the dish-
washer. The tubing and o-ring seal are not dish-
washer safe. It is reco ended that the hu idi-
fier be washed separately and that the water
te perature be at least 130ºF (54ºC). Thoroughly
rinse the cha ber lid and base after re oving
fro the dishwasher and allow to air dry.
