Chapter 1 Overview
The DVR is designed for Analog HD vehicle monitoring. With a high-performance image
processing and advanced H.264 video compression technology, the DVR provides an AHD
video recording, storage and playback solution. The Device is equipped with a smart power
management system and when the voltage of the batteries drops below 11.5V, the device
will shut down automatically.
Chapter 2 Quick setup
1.Device Installation
Please refer to “AHD MOBILE DVR Hardware User Manual” for the hard drive installation and
cable connections.
2. User Login
Right click the mouse to open the login screen then click “OK” to login (Username and
password will automatically populate).

3.Setting Time/ Date
Select Basic, then Date/Time.
Manually set the time and date, then set TimeSYNC to “no” (otherwise the DVR time/date will
change automatically as you travel through different time zones).
4.Camera Setup
Select Menu, then Record, then Mode. The DVR supports both Standard and High Definition
Cameras; However, the resolution will have to be configured properly otherwise the cameras
will not display. For Maximum recording time, make sure to disable any inactive channels by
unchecking the AV Channel Boxes in the Mode screen (seen on the next page).

Truck number and license plate number can be entered to appear on video playback.
5.1 Disk Management
Hard drives will typically be formatted by Dieselboss before leaving our warehouse; however,
if you are using your own hard drive, it will have to be formatted in the DVR before recording
will start.

To change from the default view, select either OneView or MultiView and select the viewing
mode you want to display.
1.1 Video Playback
Playback of recorded video can be done either through the Viewer software, or the DVR menu
itself. To playback video on the DVR Select “Playback” in the System menu, then select the day
and time of the incident, and left click to play the video.
Any days with video recording will light up yellow on the calendar (shown below). Times with
recorded video will light up blue on the timeline below the playback. To play video from AV5-
8 click the right arrow icon next to the timeline (TH4000 only) otherwise just select the start
time on the timeline at the bottom and left click twice to play the video.

Used to backup video to a flash drive for easy viewing. You can select “Alarm” to only backup
alarm videos, “Normal” to backup any non-alarm videos, or “All” to backup both video types.
When selecting what format to export only select ifv if you want video playback to include the
GPS position in the DVR Viewer. If you need to pull off video of a crash, we recommend backing
up the video in AVI for easy playback.
Select the video file you want to backup, click “Backup”, remove your mouse, insert your USB
drive, and the files will automatically be moved over. The DVR will then display a message
letting you know when the backup is complete.

2.2 Preview setting
Delay: The system will display the 8-camera view for the time interval you set before switching
to the view you set in the mode box.
Mode: sets which camera view will display after the delay interval.
Preswitch: Switches through the channels at the time interval you set.
Record OSD (On Screen Display): determines what info is displayed on the recorded videos.

2.4 On/Off setting
On/Off “Ctrl” setting is only used if wiring for ignition power. ACC Delay can set how long the
DVR will run after the ignition of the truck is shut off. (must be set in 5 minute intervals). Timing
on/ off can be used to set the DVR to run when the ignition is off (start will be the time the
DVR will power on at the time you set and the duration can be used to set how long after
powering up the DVR will run.
The On/Off “Volt” setting is for setting the voltage to shut down and start the device.
When the vehicle’s battery voltage is lower than the Shutdown Voltage, the device will shut
down automatically to avoid excessive battery drain. When the voltage is higher than the
shutdown voltage (Recommended shutdown voltage is 11.5V) the DVR will power back on.

2.5 System setup
Out Format should always be set to NTSC for proper viewing/ recording. If using a high-
resolution monitor, resolution can be bumped up to provide a clearer view on the monitor.
2.6 System Information
Only used for troubleshooting by Dieselboss.

3.1 Main Stream
This interface shows the current Main Stream setting and the corresponding storage size; you
can click any line to set up the corresponding parameters (AV5-8 are available on TH4000 only).
In order to change the resolution of the recordings, change the Bitrate from “Fix” to “Variable”,
then you will be able to change the quality setting. Keep in mind that higher resolutions will
use your storage space more quickly than lower resolution settings.
3.2 Recording storage
for the device to record, either Main or Sub will have to be checked. The system can record
both the Main and Sub stream simultaneously (to prevent recording loss due to Hard Drive
failure). We recommend setting HDD to Main and setting SD to Sub. Make sure to check the
overwrite box to ensure the hard drive/ SD card will overwrite the oldest videos when full.

3.3 Recording OSD (On Screen Display)
You can set up the information you want to be recorded on the selected video channel.
3.4 Image setting
Used to change image settings on individual camera channels.
(AV5-8 are available on TH4000 only)
3.5 Mirror setting
Used to flip camera view horizontally or vertically (for both preview and recording).

4.1 User Management
You can add/ delete users and modify the login username and privileges.
4.2 Reverse Camera
The DVR comes with Reverse camera function which can be configured on any active camera
channel. Click “Zone” then drag the blue points to fit size for your vehicle.
Normally we will select “On” at “AV OUT”. If you select “Off”, the screen will go to sleep at the
interval you set (30- sec, 1 min, 2 min, 5 min)

5. Device Maintenance
Log: Text file with breakdown of DVR operation (used for troubleshooting errors).
Disk Manage: Used to format the hard drive (We recommend formatting periodically to
prevent disk/ file corruption).
5.1 Disk Management
Shows available disk space and used disk space. If the system is not configured to overwrite
you will have to go this screen and format the hard drive to re-enable recording when the disk
is full.
5.2 Import/ Export Config
Import/Export is used to import or export the setup and configure information for setup in
batch. Once you have exported the config from a DVR that is already configured, just click
Import, then plug in the flash drive with the config, and the channel names and other settings
will be moved over.
Restore function should only be used if requested by Dieselboss.

6. Alarm setting
6.1 Input Alarm
Any of the 4 alarm inputs can be set for either positive or negative triggering. The default
configuration is shown below.
To configure triggering, alarms will have to be enabled (refer to page 7 of the hardware manual
for alarm harness pin-out). The alarms can be configured to take a snapshot when an event is
triggered on any active channel- you can also enable the buzzer which will cause the DVR to
beep when an event is triggered.

6.2 Video Loss
Video Loss alarm will be triggered if camera signal is lost on any active channels.
6.3 Fatigue Driving Alarm
This function will alert the driver at the time interval you set that it is time to stop driving.
6.4 Over Speed Alarm
6.5 Disk Error
If enabled, the DVR will record a special Disk Error event on whichever drive is still readable.
You can also enable “Buzzer” which will cause an alarm to sound when there is a Hard Drive/SD
error.

Chapter 4 Installation Warnings
1. Make sure to disconnect power when servicing DVR and cameras.
2. Please ensure that the DVR is getting between 8-32V for proper operation.
3. Make sure to plug the red and black wires of the power harness directly into the battery
of the vehicle to prevent video noise.
4. Before disconnecting or servicing battery, always disconnect DVR first to avoid damage.
5. Always use dielectric grease on all outside connections to control corrosion and
maintain warranty.
