1 General information
is an instrument incorporating a 24 hours programmable
centesimal “main clock”, and 4 centesimal countdowns that can work with
different operating modes. The whole unit is operated by high precision time
base.
One special feature of countdowns is that they can be joined to each other
or they can be interfaced to the main clock.
also features a special function that allows to use it as a
progressive or partial “timer” and to save up to 99 readings that can be
displayed at any time.
Display
The uses an expressly manufactured high contrast
screen, composed of 2 lines with 12 mm high figures and one series of
indicators, in order to signal the status of the selected countdown if chained,
etc.
Equipped with backlighting that can be turned on based on your needs, it
guaranties an optimal visual quality also in environments with insufficient
lighting.
Input
The has an external input that duplicates the functions of
the key, allowing the START/SPLIT of the counting of the
countdown by means of a push-button PB5/JG-A, or the electrical
synchronization of the main clock through the connection to a synchronizer.
Output
Using an headset (type “CD reader” or other) connected to the appropriate
socket, you can hear the sound made by the instrument also in noisy
environments.
Keyboard
The keyboard is of membrane type with raised keys and is completely
waterproof. Some keys have a second function that corresponds to the
caption located under it.
FIn the handbook, the second function is displayed by the caption
under the key. (Es. main function , secondary
function )

are being displayed for 2 seconds.
The instrument enters “programming parameters” and lights up the sign
SET.
The value of freezing seconds flashes on the screen and after the SPLIT
In order to switch to the programming of the automatic activation of the
seconds timer, it is necessary to operate the R or L key.
If you press one of these keys again, the instrument will go back to the
programming of theSPLIT time
Use and to change the value of the selection.
The freezing time varies from a minimum of 1to a maximum of 15 seconds
or it can be disabled by selecting “no”.
The value of the seconds required to activate the automatic seconds timer
goes from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 30 seconds

night, you can enable the display backlighting.
During normal operation and not when setting, press the key
continuously, to toggle between the three available backlighting options:
Always Backlighting remains always on.
The symbol of the display remains fixed
When
needed
the backlighting turns on by pressing any key. It remains on for
4 second, and then it turns off automatically
.The symbol on the display blinks
Off Backlighting remains always off.
The symbol of the display remains off.
Sound warning
The can sound a beep at every change of second, both in
the headphone and with an internal buzzer.
By pressing the key continuously, you can toggle between:
All The symbol on the display is on and fixed.
The beep is generated at every change of second, both in the
headphone and to the internal buzzer.

2 Main clock
At start up, the switches to “Main clock" and the function
is displayed by the caption “CL” in the “Type Selected” zone of the display.
This function enables a high-precision hundredth-resolution clock that can
be programmed throughout the 24 hours.
During regular operation, this feature can be manually enabled by pressing
key.
Clock setting
Upon startup, the clock starts counting from 0.00 time.
Press to access the programming mode.
The switches to programming and “SET” is displayed on
the screen.
The time group starts bilking, to show that it can be edited.
Use the and keys to increase or decrease the value.
If pressing continuously, digits slide faster.
Press key to reset the blinking group of digits.
Press to switch to the programming of the next group.
Press to return to the programming of the previous group.
When you have reached the “second” group, press again to return to
the programming of the hours.
Exit without synchronizing
Press key to exit from the programming modifying the
synchronization of seconds.
IWARNING: any change applied to hours and/or minutes directly
modify the clock. Therefore, after having applied the changes,
you cannot return to the setting of the previous time
english Main clock
7

Exit with synchronization of seconds
The seconds in the clock cannot be programmed but they can be reset
anytime by operating the external line.
Therefore, upon striking of the full minute of the “sample clock” , you will
need to set in action the external push-button with the greater precision
possible.
If seconds are 30 or more, one minute will be added when resetting
seconds. This will allow you to quickly resynchronize a “a nearly exact”
clock without never having to readjust the minutes, both in case of advance
or delay.
In other words, if you need to synchronize the clock on 8h15’ 00", if the
reads 8h15’ 01", it will be taken back to 8h15’ 00", while if
it’s delayed and it reads 8h14’ 59", than it will be “advanced” always to
8h15’ 00").
IWARNING: you can also use the key in order to
reset the seconds, but because of the delays in the scanning of
the keyboard, this synchronization turns out to be inaccurate
compared to the action of the push-button or to an external
control.
After the synchronization, the chronometer exits the programming step (the
digits stops flashing and the caption SETis removed ) and switches to RUN
mode .
Seconds timer of the time
During the clock regular operation, you can check its synchronization with
another clock by turning on the seconds timer of the clock. To do so, press
(see previous paragraph).
This allows you to make and acoustic check over any difference between
difference clocks, without having to simoultaneously look at both displays.
Splitting the time of the day (SPLIT)
Often it can be useful to temporary “freeze” the display of the clock, without
stopping it.
In order to make this just to press the key or use the
external push-button.

The time of the clock “is frozen”, showing hundredths and SPLIT is
displayed on the screen.
The counter is automatically restored after the pre-programmed period of
seconds (if different than “no”) or it can be restored manually, by pressing
again the key.

3 The countdowns
The four countdowns of are very versatile and easy to
use. More specifically, they can be “linked” together or the main watch, to
manage also races with linked sectors.
Selection & programming of countdowns
In order to select a specific countdown, just press the relevant CD x
“selection key". The screen displays the type and number of CD selected in
the “Type Selected” area.
For example by pressing the key, you will select “CD 1”.
To access the programming of the selected CD, just press .
The “Type Selected” group starts blinking to show that the CD operating
mode can be selected.
Four operating modes are available:
Alarm
The Alarm mode (A, on the display) can be compared to a clock wake-up
call..
You want the “wake-up call” to sound (e.g. the countdown to get to zero) at
a specific time of the day.
Its typical use is for passing time checks.
Timer
The Timer mode (t, on the display) is a very regular countdown.
By setting a duration, you will want the time to elapse after a specific time
from startup (manually started by pressing START/SPLIT or by using the
external remote control).
This is usually used in timed try outs.
One started, you will be able to edit “in race” the duration of the timer. In
this case the timer calculates the arrival time and displays the new residual
time.
Beep
The Beep mode (b, on the display) is a simple resettable seconds timer.
It always counts up and times seconds and every time you press
or you operate the external remote control, it resets and
restarts immediately.
english The countdowns
11

Loop
As in Timer mode, after setting the duration and starting the timer, every
tine you press the key or use the remote control, the error
vs. the zero is displayed and it restarts immediately, recharging the
programmed duration.
Also in this case you can change “in race” the countdown duration. The
timer calculates the new “arrival time” and displays the residual time.
FIt is important to understand well the essential difference
between the different mode, especially between the first one and
the other three. The first one is strictly linked to the time of the
day, while the other ones are completely independent.. The
Timer, Beep e Loop modes must be started, while Alarm no (you
never “ start” a wake up, you just need to set it!).
Using the and keys you can select the type of timer to use.
FPress key to exit at any time from the programming
without changing anything.
Timer ( tx ) mode
If you select this operating mode (t), with the key you go to the
programming of the countdown duration, proceeding as in the setting of the
Main clock.
The only difference consists in the possibility of programming seconds and
hundredths.
Press to exit programming and to confirm the changes applied to
duration.
Now the countdown can restart:
The STOP caption is displayed on the screen, to signal the waiting to start
status.
Pressing or operating on the external remote control. The
count starts:
You can enable/disable the acoustic seconds timer (as previously
described) by simply pressing
When the “pre-set” value that automatically starts the seconds timer,
seconds are counted with a sound, one by one, without considering the
continuous activation made with .
The countdowns english
12

After the zero, counting up continues (without the “minus” sign), showing a
delay compared to the time set.
Timer split
After the A countdown has started, by pressing or using the
external remote control, the countdown is split. The time including
hundredths is frozen on the display, preceded by “-” if it has been split
before reaching zero, or without sign if after the zero:
FIt is always a good rule to split the chronometer as you pass the
finishing line: this will allow you to compare the time you have
taken with the one taken by the chronometrist, in order to avoid
any error in the transcription of the time of your schedule.
The time freezing is automatically removed after the pre-set time has
elapsed or by pressing the key.
Timer reset
When a Timer is started, usually it is not necessary to stop it.
If the Timer has started by mistake, all you need to do it press the
key. After about 2 seconds the timer is reset to the
previously set time and it sets to the “ready to start” mode.
Reprogramming the duration
You can change the timer duration at any moment by pressing the
key.
If you change the duration, when you exit programming you can obtain two
results, based on the condition of the timer before its change:
®timer stopped (STOP): the new setting is shown on the display and the
timer is ready to start,
®timer running (RUN): using the time of the previous start and the new
duration, the new expiry is calculated again and the residual time is
shown on the display.
Alarm mode ( Ax)
If you select the Alarm (A) type, the time to be set is not a “duration”, but a
time of the day.
The programming mode of the time of the day when the countdown should
elapse is the same as the timer mode.
english The countdowns
13

Press to exit and confirm the programming.
By using the “Main clock”, the chronometer calculates and displays the
residual time to the programmed time.
Please not that since it is not necessary to start the CD, you can edit its
setting at any time, without loosing your data .
At any change of the programming, the recalculates the
new expiry and displays on the screen the residual time to the programmed
time.
IWARNING: since the Alarm mode is connected to the main
clock, any change to it will cause a change to the residual time
from the programmed time.
Beep mode (bx)
This is the simplest of the operating modes.
After selecting the Beep mode, any preset time is reset.
If you exit programming by pressing , the chronometer displays 0.00
and switches to “ready to start” (STOP. on)
If you operate the key or the external remote control, the
count will start.
Seconds are counted up one by one (the seconds timer is automatically
started but you can disable it).
Operate the external remote control or press the key once
more, to freeze the time on the display with the hundredths and to
immediately reset the counter:
A lap counter in the “Join | Lap” area of the display in incremented at each
split.
Time is automatically “unfrozen” after the pre-set time has elapsed or if you
press the key.
Press for approximately 2 seconds to reset default conditions
(seconds timer “ready to start” and lap counter to zero) è necessario tenere
premuto per circa 2 secondi il.
The countdowns english
14

Loop mode ( Lx)
This operating mode is similar to the Timer mode, with the difference that if
you use the external remote control or press the key, in
addition to displaying the error vs. the 0, the countdown will restart and
automatically reset the programmed duration.
After setting the duration as described above, if you exit the programming
mode the will default to “ready to start” and display the
programmed duration and the lap counter (bottom right of the display) as 0.
Operate the remote control to start the Countdown.
When you pass the finish line and operate the remote control, the display
“freezes” the lap time (SPLIT), while counting restarts from the value of the
programmed duration. The lap counter is increased by one unit.
Counting is automatically resumed after the pre-programmed time or by
pressing the key.
IWARNING: if you have set the value of freezing seconds after
the SPLIT=no, in this mode the lap time will be displayed for 2
seconds and then it will automatically go back to the next count.
Also in this case you can change in any moment the value of the duration of
the countdown and obtain the same effects described in the Timer mode.
In order to return to the “ready to start” mode, hold the key pressed
for 2 seconds.
english The countdowns

How to join two countdowns ( Join )
In some cases you may find yourself in races where some races are linked
to each other.
As an example, a series of timed trials joined one to the other, that is where
the actual end of the first one is considered as the start of the next one and
so on, or a timed trial starting from the actual passing on a time check.
To solve these problems, you simply need to “join” two countdowns. This
will split the first CD (es. that of the time control) and automatically start and
display the next countdown (a timed race).
Activation
To join of the currently selected CD to the next one, just press the selection
key of the same CD.
As an example if you have currently selected CD 1, in order to joint it to
CD2, you have to press .
FNTOE: you can only join nearby timers:
timer 1 to timer 2,
timer 2 to timer 3,
timer 3 to timer 4,
timer 4 to timer 1.
IWARNING: if the currently used timer is a Beep one, joining is
not possible, due obvious usage reasons.
IWARNING: if the timer is a Lap one , pay attention when using
the “Join” function, in order to avoid switching from a lap “block”
to another at the wrong time. In other words, if you need to run
10 laps with a certain set time and 10 more laps with another
specific time, the “Join” function must be enabled after the ninth
lap, so that when you have run the tenth lap the
switches to the next lap “block”.
On the display “Join” and “Join | Lap” symbols are turned on. They indicate
the type and the index of the joined (next) CD.
This group may blink, to signal the following possible conditions:
®the next CD is neither a Timer nor a Lap one.
®the next CD is a Timer/Lap but has no programmed duration.
®the next CD is already working.
