9. Driver Installation
•The TV card has no been installed in your PC in accordance ith the previous sections
and you have restarted the computer.
•Drivers are available for the follo ing operating systems:-
-Windo s® XP (32/64 bit)
-Windo s® Vista (32/64 bit)
-Windo s® 7 (32/64 bit)
and the BDA driver for Mediaportal DVB Vie er.
•In Windo s® XP, you must log on ith an administrator’s account.
•Open your eb bro ser and go to .digital-devices.de.
•On the home page click on ‘Do nloads’ and hen the page has opened do nload the
appropriate drivers and save to a convenient location.
(executable file: ‘DigitalDevices DVB Dri er X.msi’)
•Run the setup program by double clicking the file you just do nloaded –‘DigitalDevices
DVB Dri er X.msi‘.
•Follo the on-screen instructions.
•When the installation is complete, restart the computer.
•The Unicable® feature is integrated in the driver, and can be configured via the
‘DVBCineConfig’ tool.
If your operating system is configured by default to accept only Microsoft appro ed (signed)
programs and dri ers, a warning message may appear:-
“Windows cannot erify the publisher of this dri er software ...". This is not an indication of
a fault with the dri er, but to the absence of Microsoft WHQL certification and can therefore
be ignored by clicking the ‘Next’ button or the option to, “Install this dri er software
anyway…”
When new dri ers or programs are installed, existing data is o erwritten or changed. You should
accordingly create a backup copy before installation on your hard dri e. Claims for damages in respect
of lost data and consequential losses arising from lost data will not be accepted.
Please ensure you follow the safety precautions for your PC
(consult the PC manual).
After a successful driver installation, four ne devices ill be identified by the operating
system.
Example of an installation under Windows® 7 with a Common Interface (CI)
connected:-

Installation instructions 08/2011 Copyright Digital Devices GmbH ® page 9/30
In Windo s 7 Device Manager, under Sound, video and game controllers, you ill find 4
entries for Digital Devices ( ithout a CI there ill only be 3 entries).
10. Channel List Creation
You have the ability to create pre-defined channel lists. Examples of pre-defined channel
lists can be found in your Programs folder under “Digital Devices \ DVB-Utils“.
These files are:
・ PresetDE.csv → includes the standard channels in the region: Germany.
・ PresetAT.csv → includes the standard channels in the region: Germany
Austria.
・ PresetCH.csv → includes the standard channels in the region:
S itzerland.
・ PresetNL.csv → includes the standard channels in the region:
Netherland.
・ PresetFR.csv → includes the standard channels in the region: France.
・ PresetRadio.csv → includes the standard radio channels.
・ PresetSkyGermany.csv → includes the standard channels for SKY TV (Germany).
These lists can be edited using a spreadsheet such as Excel, or in a text editor.
To change the channel order, change its number value.
Ensure here possible that no channel is entered more than once, as this could lead to
problems later in Windo s Media Center. After editing the file, it must be saved in UTF8
format.
As an alternative to editing manually in Excel or in a text editor, please refer to the Digital
Devices Kno ledge Base online and search for a tool called "DD channel sorter", hich
provides a simpler means of sorting / rebuilding the channel lists.
The remaining files in the directory, for example, "Astra192.csv" are not channel lists. These
files contain frequency information and should not normally be changed. When the
frequency of a channel is changed the channel data can be edited in these files.

Configuration of C/T Tuner
To the left, under ‘Tuner’, you ill see the avail-
able tuners and to the right, above the check-
boxes, the signal type. The Cine C/T card is lim-
ited to tuning either DVB-T or DVB-C signals; it
cannot tune both types of signal simultaneously.
If you are using the Cine C/T ith a DuoFlex C/T
expansion card, both types of signal can be
tuned simultaneously by assigning one type of
signal to each card. (With a correct combination
of Cine or Octopus ith DuoFlex cards, tuning
DVB-T, DVB-S and DVB-C simultaneously is pos-
sible - see our ebsite for full details). Tick the
checkboxes for the tuners and signal type(s) you
ant to use.
NB
Windo s® Media Center is not compatible ith European cable signals, bu
t e have a sol
u-
tion to this issue. The checkbox labeled 'DVB-C WMC' is provided for this. When this box is ticked
the driver ill convert DVB-C (digital cable) signals to DVB-S (digital satellite) signals to achieve
compatibility. Windo s® Media Center is compatible ith DVB-T (digital terrestrial) signals, ho -
ever, and DVB-T tuner configuration is straightfor ard.
DVB-T: (For use with Windows® Media Center or a different TV application)
Tick the relevant checkbox for the tuner(s) you ant to assign, either for use ith Windo s®
Media Center or ith a different TV application (for example DVBVie er® or Media Portal).
DVB-C: (For use only with a TV application other than Windows® Media Center)
If you ill be using a TV application other than Windo s® Media Center for DVB-C, eg, DVBVie -
er® or Media Portal, tick this checkbox for the tuner(s) you ant to use. Do not select this option
for use with Windows® Media Center.
DVB-C WMC: (For use with Windows® Media Center)
If you ill be using Windo s® Media Center you must select this option for DVB-C. Conversion of
DVB-C to DVB-S causes no limitation to time-shifting or other functions and is of advantage in
enabling the use of our pre-defined channel lists (see belo - Loading the transponder list).
