Congratulations on the purchase of your Pet Patio Pottymade by Doggy Solutions. We
sincerely hope that this product gives both you and your pet the added freedom helpful in
today’s busy life. Never hesitate to contact us with any questions regarding the use and
maintenance of this device or about training your puppy or dog to use its’ Pet Patio
Potty.
Included with your shipment are the following items:
Pet Patio PottyPolyethylene Box Frame.
Plexiglas Side Panels, Front Brace, and Canopy Brace (the small size unit also
includes a Back Side Brace).
Screws provided for assembly
Polyethylene Tray(s) fitted with Perforated Polyethylene Barrier
Tray Handles and Handle Screws
Sunbrella canvas cover: This water and fade resistant cover conveniently snaps
onto your unit and can be readily removed for laundering.
PetCare Training Aid for Puppies: This product can help train your pet to urinate
in the potty. Simply spray a small amount of the training spray on the K9Grass.
Reapply as necessary until your dog has been trained to use the potty.
Synthetic Grass: A piece of Synthetic K9Grass is included for insertion in each
tray of your potty. Please consult the Maintenance Instructions for the procedure
you can follow to clean these sod pieces. This K9Grass is quite durable and should
last indefinitely if cleaned properly. However, if at any time you wish to purchase
replacement pieces of K9Grass, please contact Doggy Solutions.
Litter Scoop for removing soiled litter.

Assembly and Set-Up Instructions: Toy Elevated Canopy

1. Place the box frame with the “Front Side” of box facing you.
2. Position the panel labeled “Left Side” on the left side of the
box frame so that the shorter piece of Plexiglas slides inside
the box and the longer piece of Plexiglas slides outside the
box. Until the side panels are screwed together as described
in the following step, do not leave the side panel
unsupported. The panels can crack if they are left
unsupported. Also, exercise caution in handling the
panels since the edges are sharp.

3. Position the “Back Side” panel in a similar fashion on the
back side of the box frame.
4. Take two of the “Side Panel Screws” provided and use a
Phillips head screwdriver to screw the back pole of the “Left
Side” panel to the left pole of the “Back Side” panel. The
Plexiglas and poles are pre-drilled to facilitate this process,
therefore, use the holes provided when screwing the panels
together.
5. Position the panel labeled “Right Side” on the right side of the
box frame (Photo5). Using two more of the “Side Panel
Screws”, screw the back pole of the “Right Side” panel to the
right pole of the “Back Side” panel.
6. With the snap fasteners facing forward, attach the “Front
Brace” to the top of the poles on left and right side panels
using the two remaining “Side Panel Screws”.

7. Using the “Base Screws” provided, attach the bottom of each
of the Plexiglas panels to the box frame using the pre-drilled
holes. There are two screws for each panel.
8. Place the “Canopy Brace” across the box frame.
9. Using the “Canopy Support Screws” and the pre-drilled screw
holes, attach the “Canopy Brace” to the top side of the side
panel frames. This angled support helps prevent rain and snow
from collecting on the units’ canvas cover.
10. Using the snap fasteners affixed to the box frame and the
canvas cover, snap the cover in place with the Doggy
Solutions logo facing the “Front Side” of the unit. The canvas
canopy will fit snugly over the frame.

11. For those units ordered with a Weather Protection
Flap: When a bad storm is expected or when you plan to be
out of town for a prolonged period of time, affix the Weather
Protection Flap over the open side of the unit. This is simply
done by unsnapping the snaps along the front edge of the
canopy and snapping the flap in place along the Front Brace
and along the front of the box frame. This photo shows the
flap snapped in place before the front edge of the canopy is
pulled down over the top edge of the flap.
12. This Photo shows the front edge of the canopy pulled down
over the top edge of the flap. All fasteners along the side and
back edges of the canopy should remain securely snapped
when the flap is being used.
***Please note: the potty frame of wood units can be damaged if the unit is
exposed to excessive rain or snow and the litter is allowed to become totally
saturated and allowed to sit in the potty for a prolonged period. Please take
precautions to protect the potty from such conditions and replace the litter as soon
as possible if it becomes saturated with environmental moisture.
Set Up
1. Place your Pet Patio Pottyin as protected an area as possible so as to avoid unnecessary exposure
to environmental elements (i.e. rain, snow and wind). Polyethylene “feet” have been attached to the
bottom of the potty to assure that the bottom of the box frame is not allowed to sit on a moist surface.
The redwood box frames can be damaged if allowed to rest directly on a moist surface for any period
of time.
2. Purchase a litter product of your choice. We recommend using a clumping kitty litter that has good
odor control properties. Two of the litter products that we recommend are Tidy Cats Scoop for
Multiple Cats with antimicrobial odor control and Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Ultra. With the
tray removed from the frame, distribute a generous layer of litter over the entire bottom
surface of the box. Do not overfill the box frame with litter. The litter should not touch
the bottom of the insert tray.
3. Use the “Handle Screws” provided to attach the two handles to the tray. The tray is pre-drilled so use
those screw holes when attaching the handles to the tray.

4. With the handles facing upward, insert the tray in the box frame making sure that the handles are on
the sides of the box rather than the front and back of the box.
5. If you have decided to use gravel as the substrate in the tray: Obtain pea gravel (1/2” river rock)
from your local garden supply center or home supply store such as Home Depot. A common size bag
of such gravel contains 0.5 cubic feet of gravel which is roughly enough to fill two Toy size trays.
Evenly distribute the gravel over the perforated polyethylene tray bottom to a depth of about 3/4".
(Photo 16). Spray the gravel with a small amount of the Training Spray provided. Reapply as
necessary.
6. If you have purchased synthetic K9Grass to be used as the
substrate in the tray: Insert the piece of grass in the tray of
the Pet Patio Potty. Spray the grass with a small amount of
the Training Spray provided. Reapply as necessary. See
Maintenance Instructions for cleaning procedures to be used
for the K9Grass.
