INSTRUCTIONS: Thank You for purchasing the Dominion Lures, Inc, Control Plane Lure™.
Step #1: Make sure all 5 Control Planes™ are centered in the body of the Control Plane Lure™.
Replace broken or lost Control Planes™ with the included bag of
Control Planes™(1 extra set)- Bag contents:
Front Vertical Control Plane™ (FVCP)=1.42 inches/36mm (longest)
Front Horizontal (FHCP), Vertical Tail (VTCP) and Horizontal Tail Control
Planes™ (HTCP)= 1.3 inches/33mm (second longest)
Middle Dorsal Control Plane™(MDCP)= .7 inches/17.5mm (shortest)
Note: Tune swimbait by sliding the FHCP to the left or right.
The combined effect of the 5 Control Planes™ is strong-all the Control Planes™ do not have to be in perfect
alignment to achieve the desired natural swimming motions.
Step #2: Insert the included bullet weight into the
pre-cut nose hole by pushing it from the belly slot
toward the nose.
Step #3: Run the line thru the bullet weight and tie on
the included treble hook or tie on the included single
replacement hook. Let the hook eye rest against the
inserted bullet weight or secure the treble hook with a
small piece of toothpick (included) as shown in Fig. 1(a)
and 1(b). Trim off the end of the toothpick so it does
not stick out of both sides of the swimbait body. The
hook is now secured to the body of the swimbait which will significantly reduce snags and will break
free when a fish strikes. Note: When fishing in cover-use the included single replacement hook.
Tuck the hook up into the belly slot and peg thru the hook eye as shown in Fig.2(a) and 2(b) or peg
both sides of the belly slot together under the hook shaft to keep it in place (See“Tips”video).
Swim Down” motion: Replacing the included 3/16th oz. bullet
weight with a weight that weighs 3/8th oz. or more will produce
a swim down motion when the swimbait is allowed to fall on a
slack line.(Tungsten weight recommended)
(Note- Optional) A Protruding Tail Control Plane (PTCP not
included) may be inserted in the back of the tail as shown in
Figures 2(a) and 2(b) to increase tail movement at slower
speeds and aid in producing the “swim down” motion.
A basic understanding of the way the Control Planes™limit unnatural movements and control and
accentuate natural motions in a soft, segmented, swimbait will increase your ability to make “on the
water” tuning adjustments and catch more fish. Generally, the Front Vertical Control Plane™(FVCP)
will limit back and forth, lateral or horizontal head wobble, and the Front Horizontal Control Plane™
(FHCP) will limit vertical roll, twist and rocking, - together they provide overall stability. Note: Sliding
the (FHCP) over to the right or left will correct the swimbait from running on its side. The Middle
Dorsal Control Plane™(MDCP) helps keep the swimbait stable and provides controlling motions to
the tail segment. The Vertical and Horizontal Tail Control Planes™(VTCP and HTCP) stabilize and
control the beat frequency and arc in the tail segment.
