SCOPE
This procedure covers required tasks to be
performed for a UK Internal Modem Field Upgrade.
These tasks encompass removal and re-installation
of the power supply assembly, surge board, all plug
in cards, the card cage insert, and the backplane
board.
REQUIRED TOOLS
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect all power cord from the IEC
connector on the power supply assembly.
2. Remove the two screws attaching the power
supply assembly to the card cage and pry the
powersupplyassemblyawayfromthecardcage.
3. Disconnect all cables from the backplane.
4. Remove the power supply assembly.
5. Remove the CPU card, Memory Card, and any
other installed cards from the card cage.
6. Remove the six screws attaching the card cage
insert.
7. Remove the card cage insert through the power
supply assembly opening.

Step 1 - Disconnect all power cords.
Step 2 - Remove two screws.
Step 3 - Disconnect all cables from the
backplane board.
Step 5 - Remove all cards.
Step 6 - Remove six screws.
Step 7 - Remove the Card Cage Insert.

8. Remove the 8 screws that attach the backplane
to the rear of the card cage insert and remove
the backplane.
9. Insert the New Backplane, PN: 09600-01024,
and reinstall the 8 screws.
10. Reinstall the card cage insert and six attaching
screws removed in step 6.
11. Disconnect all cablesfrom the surgeboard, take
note of how the cables are connected to the
surge board.
12. Replace the surge board with PN:09100-00095.
13. Re-attach the cables disconnected in step 11.
14. Install the power supply assembly into the card
cage as shown. Attach power supply wire
harness to J8 on the backplane PCB.
15. Re-connect EJ Cable ( 09600-00026 ) to J4 on
the backplane PCB.
Steps 8 and 9 - Remove the screws that attach the
backplane to the Card Cage Insert.
Step 12 - Remove the four screws that attach
the surge board to the power supply plate.
Step 14 - Attach power supply wire
harness to J8 on backplane.
Step 15 - Re-connect EJ Communication Cable
to J4 on backplane PCB.

16. Re-connectControl Panel Cable (09600-00010)
to P6 on the backplane PCB.
17. Re-connectDispenser Power Cableto J9 onthe
backplane PCB.
18. Re-connect Telephone Cable ( 09600-00025 )
to J2 on the Surge PCB.
19. Re-connect External Phone Cable (09120-
00605) to J1 on the Surge PCB. If a US phone
cable is being replaced with a UK phone cable,
follow the routing of the currently installed US
phone cable from the inside of the card cage
downtothe exit hole atthebottom of the cabinet.
20. Secure the power supply assembly to the card
cage using the two screws removed in step 2.
21. Reinstall the cards into card cage, CPU Board,
Memory Board with SD02.04 firmware, and
Internal UK Modem Board, plus any additional
boards that were removed.
Step 16 - Re-connect Control Panel Cable
to P6 on backplane PCB.
Step 17 - Re-connect Dispenser Power
cable to J9 on backplane PCB.
Step 19 - Re-connect External Phone
Cable to J1 on the Surge PCB.
Step 18 - Reconnect Telephone Cable
to J2 on the Surge PCB.
