III. Operation
A. SeFrJp
The DGX 1050 requires no technical expertise to set-up or
operate. By following the LCD prompts/messages and these
basic guidelines, set-up can be accomplished in just minutes.
A.1 Location Selection
Because the DGX 1050 is a low-power device, selecting the
best broadcast location is critical. Obey the following
guidelines.
1. Choose a window in an indoor, secure , dtY,
temperafure stable environment.
2. Choose a window facing main tatget area.
3 . The higher off the ground the better.
4. Maintain "line of sight" between transmitter
and main target area.
5. Avoid broadcasting from within metal
buildings, they are signal killers.
A.2 Frequency Selection
From the broadcast site, use a digital FM radio to scan the
entire FM spectrum to locate an open frequency (any frequency
with no signal, a very weak signal, or static is considered open).
Please be conscientious of commercial radio stations and their
listeners.
Rev. -Apnl 15,199'l

ilL Operation
A.2 Frequency Selection (cont.)
The ideal broadcast frequency has no signal, as well as, no
signal on the band to each side. For instance, if 88.3, 88.5 and
88.7, are all signal free, 88.5 is the best frequency for your
broadcast.
Once a frequency has been chosen it will then need to be
displayed on your sign to inform passerbys of your
broadcast.
A.3 Frequency Tuning
Broadcast frequency can only be adjusted while unit is in the
MAIN MENU. Tuning is accomplished by pressing the
frequency UP/DOWN switches (red alrows on front) until
desired frequency is displayed.
