These instructions must be used as a supplement to the instructions supplied with the gas log set.
Follow the gas log instructions supplied by the original manufacturer on the placement of the burner
pan, log grate, burner, media (sand or vermiculite), ember material and the log placement. Please
follow these instructions on the connection of the inlet gas line to the gas valve and to the burner
pan assembly. If this fireplace installation has glass doors, only operate the fireplace with glass
doors in the FULLY OPEN position. It is compatible with 18" to 30" wide log sets.
PART 1 - INSTALLATION INSTRCTIONS OF VALVE KIT
I. FOR FIREPLACE WITH EXISTING LOG SET:
(1) Make sure main gas supply is 100% OFF to the gas log set, and having a certified and
approved SHUT-OFF within 6-feet of the fireplace, or per the local code requirements.
(2) Remove all logs and grate, and maybe some sand, cinders, glowing embers.
(3) Disconnect the 3/8” flared fitting on the existing gas valve from the inlet gas supply.
(4) Remove existing gas valve and fittings on the burner pan.
(5) Locate a position on the back of the burner pan about 4” from the right or left side of the burner
pan for the pilot assembly installation. (Figure 2, 3)
(6) Mount pilot assembly to burner pan by inserting the included “Fork” bracket (patented) on the
edge of burner pan. Adjust, and combine the “Fork” bracket with small “L” bracket (optional) in
order to holds the pilot assembly at the best ignition position. You could bend the middle tooth
of the “Folk” bracket inward slightly for stronger clamping force. (Figure 1, 2, 3)
CAUTION: The wires and the tubing of pilot assembly can NOT be inside or over-top the
burner pan. Locate them as far as possible from the burner pan.
(7) Locate the valve kit in the right or left front corner of the fireplace as far forward as possible. At
least 2” away from the SIDE and FRONT of the log grate. (Figure 4)
(8) Connect gas supply line and the 3/8” flare fitting to 3/8” inlet connector on the valve kit.
CAUTION: Do NOT over bend / kink the aluminum inlet line when bending to fit to the valve.
(9) Connect the flex line to valve outlet, connect other end to 3/8” flare fitting on burner pan.
CAUTION: Do NOT let gas inlet line to the valve kit or gas outlet line from the valve kit to
burner pan be placed inside or over-top of the burner pan.
(10)Turn ON gas supply and Soapy-Water check all connections to make sure no gas leakage.
(11)When the pilot is operating, check pilot fittings to make sure no gas leakage.
(12)Reinstate the log grate and logs.
(13)Install included Damper Clamp, which allows damper to remain slightly open to allow the pilot
gases to vent.
