1. PRELIMINARY CONSIDERATIONS. Before the system starts-up.
Before connecting the detectors to the Control Unit, the general switch must be in the OFF position and the batteries must not
be connected. All the gas inputs of the detectors, with the exception of EXP and O2 type, have to be covered with the stoppers
supplied. Follow next indications before starting-up the system.

To configure the groups always start with the detector number marked with (*).
Group parameters are independent for type of gas, group, alarm level, ventilation level, etc.
Please remember that each group will only be able to measure one type of gas.

The number of programmed detection groups per module line depends also on the number of ventilation speeds or outputs of
each standard -relay outputs-. Module lines can be programmed in 1, 2 or 4 detection groups following the Spanish, German-
Swiss and Italian Standards, and 1 or 2 groups following the Portuguese-International, French, German-Swiss and Flemish
Standard.
DETECTORS INSTALLATION
To carry out the detectors installation use shield cable 4 wires -2 x 1.5 mm2 power and 2 x 0,25 mm2 twisted pair cable
communications-, bearing in mind that the max. length between Control Unit and the last detector installed -or Interface- will
be of up to 1000 m.
Regarding consumption and in order to avoid drops in the installation voltage, the maximum amount of Europellistors
-explosive gases- installed will be of 8 per module line, being necessary the installation of an independent power supply per
module line if the number of detectors to install is higher (see page nº 58. Connection nº 4). Moreover, the supply cable section
must be increased up to 2,5 mm2 .

NOTE: The Europellistors -detectors for explosive gases- are not designed to install in environments with EEX protection
grade.
LED CODES IN THE DETECTORS
Blinking when the detector is in idle mode:
• Operating OK.
Fast Blinking:
• Detector not initialised.
• Detector not recognised by the Module Line.
• The programmed detector number coincides with another detector´s number.
Permanently lit up:
• EURODETECTOR CO: It indicates that the detected CO concentration is equal to or above 50 ppm.
• EUROPELLISTOR: It indicates that the gas concentration is equal to or above 20% L.E.L.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR Cl2 AND HCl DETECTORS -BIAS CIRCUIT-
These detectors incorporate a battery to permanently feed the circuit in order to solve the problem of the stabilisation time.
Before connecting these detectors to the Control Unit, follow next indications:
1. Remove the connector incorporated to the battery.

2. Connect the conector specified in the main printed circuit.
3. Connect the system.
If you need to disconnect these detectors for a period in excess of 30 min, the reverse of the above process will apply, and then
you have to put the connector back with the 9V battery.
INSTALLATION OF INTERFACES 8 INPUTS 4-20mA
The interfaces 8 inputs 4-20mA allow to connect and address to EUROSONDELCO Control Unit any detector with 4-20mA
standard format.
The following configurations can be installed per module line:
• 1 Interface for 8 detectors 4-20mA + 8 Eurodetectors (toxic g.) / Europellistors (explosive g.)
• 1 Interface for 8 detectors 4-20mA + 1 Interface for 8 detectors 4-20mA
• 16 Eurodetectors / Europellistors
Selecting the group number and detector number connected to each interface:
The detectors connected to the interfaces are numbered automatically according to the input number they are connected to.
• When selecting JP1 in ON position for the first Interface. This indicates that the connected detectors - from 1 to
8 – belong to group 1.
• When selecting JP1 in OFF position for the second Interface. This indicates that the connected detectors - from
9 to 16 – belong to group 2.
Bottom of scale for the different detectors and gas type are:
Carbon Monoxide CO From 0 to 400 ppm
Explosives EXP From 0 to 100% L.E.L.
Oxygen O2From 0 to 25%
Nitrogen Dioxide NO2From 0 to 20 ppm
Other gases From 0 to 200 ppm

3. SYSTEM SUPPLY
To start up the system proceed as follows:
1. Set the Power Supply switch to the ON position and the display will show, in this order:

2. Connect the battery/ies by means of the two pair of cable provided, bearing in mind the polarity (red-positive,
black-negative).
4. CHANGE OF LANGUAGE
If you need to change the language of the displayed messages, proceed as follows with the module line in OFF position.
1. Press FORWARD.
Default language is displayed.
2. Press FORWARD to change it.
3. Press PROGRAMMING to memorise the selected language.
5. CO DETECTION. SPANISH STANDARD. Default configuration
If you have requested EUROSONDELCO for the Carbon Monoxide (CO) detection meeting the Spanish Standard regarding this
gas detection, then your Control Unit will be programmed with the following parameters -default-:
Ventilation -Actuation- ON: 50 ppm -1 min input retard-
OF: < 50ppm -2 min output retard-
Alarm: ON 100ppm -instant-
Number of Groups: 1
Cyclical Ventilation: Each “0” hours
Activation time of cyclical ventilation: 5 min
System checking interval: Each “0” months -without programmed checking-
Engineer Code: 66666 -5 times ENTER-
If you do not need to change any of the parameters described, it will not be necessary to enter in SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
menu, being able to enter in SYSTEM CONNECTION directly (page nº 54). If you need to change any of the parameters, go
directly to that parameter by pressing FORWARD (see quick programming for this standard in page nº 39).
To change any parameter:
1. Press PROGRAMMING
“Insert Code” will be displayed (engineer). Default setting: 66666 by pressing ENTER 5 times.
2. Press FORWARD to display, in order of appearance, the programmable parameters described next. Instructions
in point QUICK PROGRAMMING can also be taken as reference (page nº 39).

GROUP NUMBER
The system has been programmed 1 group by default, if you need to program more groups:
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
1, 2 or 4 will be displayed.
2. Press FORWARD to select a different group.
3. Press ENTER to memorise.
GROUPS CONFIGURATION: Type of gas and levels
To configure the groups:
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
“Group 1” will be displayed.
2. Press FORWARD until you select the desired group (if you have selected more than one).
3. Press PROGRAMMING to enter the selected group.
The type of gas will be displayed.
4. Press PROGRAMMING if you to change this gas.
The different gases will be displayed: “CO, H2S, SO2, NO, NO2, Cl2, HCl, NH3, O2, EXP”.
5. Press FORWARD to select the wanted one.
6. Press ENTER to memorise.
The alarm level of the group 1 “100 ppm” will be displayed.
7. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.
The different alarm levels will be displayed:
Carbon Monoxide CO From 20 to 390 ppm
Explosives EXP From 10 to 90% L.E.L.
Oxygen O2From 2 to 24%
Nitrogen Dioxide NO2From 2 to 19 ppm
Other gases From 20 to 190 ppm
8. Press FORWARD to chose the alarm level.
9. Press ENTER to memorise.
The ventilation level “50ppm” will be displayed.
10. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.
11. Press FORWARD and select the wanted one.
12. Press ENTER to memorise.
The ventilation input retard “1 min” will be displayed. This menu allows to program a retard from the moment
the ventilation condition is detected until the ventilation acts.
13. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.
14. Press FORWARD and select the wanted one -from 0 to 4 min-.
15. Press ENTER to memorise.
The ventilation output retard “2 min” will be displayed. This menu allows to program a retard from the moment
the no-ventilation condition is detected until it is disconnected.
16. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.
17. Press FORWARD and select the wanted one -from 0 to 4 min-.
18. Press ENTER to memorise.
If you have programmed more than 1 detection group then repeat same steps for the rest of groups.

ENGINEER CODE
The “Engineer Code” is a password that restrict the access to the system programmed parameters to those people not authorized
for its programming, checking and maintenance. Default password is 66666. It is obtained by pressing five times ENTER.
We recommend to customised this password. You will need a 5 number code bearing in mind the following table of push
buttons and numbers correspondence.

To change the code, proceed as follows:
1. Press PROGRAMMING
Insert the new code that automatically will be the new Engineer Code.
SYSTEM OVERHAUL
No System Overhaul is programmed by default. If you want to program this warning proceed as follows:
1. Press PROGRAMMING
The number of months regarding the overhaul period will be displayed -from 0 to 12-.
2. Press FORWARD to select the overhaul period -in months-.
3. Press ENTER to memorised.
Once the programmed period has ended, the message “Rev” will be displayed and an acoustic will go off. This can be inhibited
by the user.
RESET OF SYSTEM OVERHAUL
To reset from the display the System Overhaul Warning “Rev” and start a new cycle once an authorised technician has carried
out the installation checking, proceed as follows:
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
“OK” will be displayed and a confirmation acoustic will go off.
ACOUSTICS INHIBITION
This menu allows to choose if the events: Ventilation, Alarm and Saturation Levels -equipment bottom of scale- can go off an
internal acoustic. This function is specially usefull when the Control Unit has been installed in a place where people are working
in order to avoid any inconvenience caused by the normal functioning of the Control Unit.
The acoustics can not be programmed independently. They all must be ACTIVATED or DEACTIVATED.
They will apperar activated by default. If you want to deactivate them, proceed as follows:
1. Press PROGRAMMING

The acoustics status will be displayed.
2. Press FORWARD
The wanted acoustic status will be displayed.
3. Press ENTER to confirm.
RESET OF PROGRAMMING
This menu allows to come back to the initial configuration -factory- by default, resetting everything programmed up till
now.
1. Press PROGRAMMING. Insert your Engineer Code again and ALL parameters will come back to the initial
configuration
“OK” will be displayed and a confirmation acoustic will go off.
ERASING EVENTS
This menu allows to erase all events memorised.
1. Press PROGRAMMING and you will erase all events memorised.
“OK” will be displayed and a confirmation acoustic will go off.
Once you have erased all events from the memory, it will just remain registered the ERASING EVENTS operation with the date
and time in which it took place.
CALIBRATION
All detectors manufactured by DURAN ELECTRONICA have been calibrated in our laboratories, for this reason, they do not need
to be calibrated when being installed.
Please remember that an overhaul of the detectors needs to be effected, at least, once in a year.
Before being calibrated, the input of gas of all detectors must be covered for at least 30 min -except the explosive gases and
O2 detectors-.
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
The Module line will look for the number and type of detector that are connected, and “Detector Search” will be
displayed. Next “Calibration” and the type of gas will be displayed on the top line; and in the bottom line the
detector nº and its concentration will be displayed.
2. Once the first detector is calibrated press FORWARD to go on to the next one.
3. Press ENTER to exit.

EUROPELLISTORS -Explosives-: It will be necessary to use a mixture of Methane at 2.50% balanced in air equivalent to 50%
L.E.L. and adjust at this level.
ZEROING -3 modes-
The EURODETECTORS CO that need zeroing will indicate it with the LED lit up when this menu is activated. (Non aplicable to
other gases or interface 8 inputs 4-20mA):
LED ON: It nees Zeroing.
LED OFF: It does not need Zeroing.
MODE 1st Looking at the display of the module line.
Check the concentration on the display. If anything other than “000” is displayed slowly adjust the detector’s
ZEROING potentiometer until that value is displayed.
MODE 2nd Not looking at the display and without a measuring instrument -only Eurodetector CO-.
Whith the detectors´ LED lit up, slowly turn the ZEROING potentiometer left to the point where the LED blinks
on and off. Leave it OFF.
MODE 3rd Not looking at the display and with a measuring instrument.
Place the instrument in the 5V scale. Connect the negative to the GND point and the positive to the TP+ point
of the detector. Slowly turn the ZEROING potentiometer left or right until obtaining a suitable millivolts reading
(see calibration tables, page nº 36).
For other detectors please consult the information sheet enclosed with the detector.

CALIBRATION WITH GAS -2 modes-
MODE 1st Looking at the display of the module line and without a measuring instrument.
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
The module line will look for the number and type of detector that are connected, and “Detector Search” will
be displayed. Next “Calibration” and type of gas will be displayed on the top line; and in the bottom line will be
displayed the detector nº and its gas concentration.
Remove the detector cap and insert the adapter -optional-.
Apply gas at the indicated flow in the calibration tables on pag. 36 and wait to the reading to be stabilised.
Adjust the detector potenciometer called GAIN until obtaining a concentration equivalent to the target gas it has
been used (example: CO = 200 ppm).
2. Press FORWARD to go to on to the next detector.
MODE 2nd Not looking at the display of the module line and with a measuring instrument.
Place the instrument in the 5V scale. Connect the negative to the GND point and the positive to the TP+ point.
Adjust the detector potenciometer called GAIN until obtaining a suitable reading in millivolts following the
calibration tables in page nº 36.
1. Press FORWARD to go on to the next detector.
PRINTING OUT PROGRAMMING
This menu allows you to print out the module line programming with all of its parameters. Make sure the printer is connected
to the equipment´s right side connector and switch it on.
1. Press PROGRAMMING to print all parameters.
If the printer is not connected or switched on, “Fault Printer” will be displayed.
EXIT THE PROGRAMMING
1. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to exit the Engineer Programming Menu.
2. Press FORWARD to come back to the beginning of Engineer Programming Menu.

If you have requested EUROSONDELCO for the Carbon Monoxide (CO) detection meeting the Portuguese Standard regarding
this gas detection, then your Control Unit will be programmed with the following parameters by default:
Ventilation -Actuation-
1st Speed ON: 50 ppm -1 min input retard-
OF: < 50ppm -2 min output retard-
2nd Speed ON: 100 ppm -1 min input retard-
OF: < 100ppm -2 min output retard-
Alarm: ON 200ppm -instant-
Number of Groups: 1
Cyclical Ventilation: Each “0” hours
Activation time of cyclical ventilation: 5 min
System checking interval: Each “0” months -without programmed checking-
Engineer Code: 66666 -5 times ENTER-
If you do not need to change any of the parameters described, it will not be necessary to enter in SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
menu, being able to enter in SYSTEM CONNECTION directly (page nº 54). If you need to change any of the parameters, go
directly to that parameter by pressing FORWARD (see quick programming for this standard in page nº 42).
To change any parameter:
1. Press PROGRAMMING
“Insert Code” will be displayed -engineer-. Default access code is 66666. It can be obtained by pressing 5 times
ENTER.
GROUP NUMBER
The equipment has been programmed 1 group by default.
1. Press FORWARD if you want to program 2 groups.
2. Press ENTER to memorise.
GROUPS CONFIGURATION: Type of gas and levels
To configure the groups:
1. Press PROGRAMMING.
“Group 1” will be displayed.
2. Press FORWARD if you want to change the group.
3. Press PROGRAMMING to enter in the selected group.
The type of gas will be displayed “CO”.
4. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change the type of gas.
The different type of gases will be displayed: “CO, H2S, SO2, NO, NO2, CL2, HCL, NH3, O2, EXP”.
5. Press FORWARD to select the wanted type of gas.
6. Press ENTER to memorise.
The alarm level of Group 1 will be displayed “200 ppm”.
7. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.

18. Press ENTER to memorise.
The ventilation output retard will be displayed “2 min”. This menu allows to program a retard from the moment the
no ventilation condition is detected until it is disconnected.
19. Press PROGRAMMING if you want to change it.
20. Press FORWARD to select the wanted one -from 0 to 4 min-.
21. Press ENTER to memorised.
If 2 groups were previously chosen, proceed in the same way with group 2.
To program the other parameters: system overhaul warning, reset of system overhaul warning, reset of system ovehaul,
acoustics inhibition, general reset, erasing events, detectors calibration, printing out parameters, exit the programming menu,
follow the steps described in point 5 regarding the spanish standard.
