SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
INTENDED USE
This hedge trimmer is intended for cutting and trimming hedges and bushes in domestic
use. It is not intended to be used for cutting above shoulder level.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings

WARNING Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
1) Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas can cause accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not
use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and
matching outlets will reduce the risk of an electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators,
ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool
will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged
or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for
outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a
power tool. Do not use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. A lapse of concentration when using power tools could
cause a serious injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats and hearing protection
will reduce the risk of injury.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is off before connecting to a
power source, picking it up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your
finger on the switch or plugging it in with the switch on, could cause an accident.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench
or key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool could cause an injury.
e) Do not overreach. Always keep proper footing and balance, ensuring you are in
control of the power tool.

f) Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away
from moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for dust extraction, ensure they are securely connected
and properly used. Using a dust collector can reduce the risk of safety hazards.
h) We recommend the use of safety eyewear, foot ware, hearing protection and gloves.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not use force when using the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which
it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not work. Any power tool that cannot
be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired by the manufacturer or
qualified technician.
c) Unplug before adjusting, changing accessories or storing. These safety measures
reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. NOTE: Adjustments and
changing accessories should be done but the manufacturer or a qualified
technician.
d) Store tools out the reach of small children. Do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the power tools or instructions use this product. Power tools are dangerous in the
hands of untrained users.
e) Maintaining power tools. Check for misalignment of moving parts, breakages and
any other conditions that could affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged,
have the power tool repaired by a qualified technician before use. Many accidents
occur because of poor maintenance.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g) Use the power tool and accessories, in accordance with these instructions. Take
into account the surrounding conditions and the work that needs to be done.
Using the power tool for operations different from those instructed could be a safety
hazard.
5) Battery tool use and care
a) Only use the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for
one type of battery pack could cause a fire hazard when used with another battery pack.
b) When not in use, keep the product away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails,
screws or other metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to
another. Shorting the battery terminals together could cause a fie hazard.
c) If there is a leakage from the battery, avoid contact. If there is accidental contact,
wash with water. If liquid gets in the eyes, seek medical advice immediately. Liquid
from the battery can burn or cause irritation.
6) Service
a) The power tool must be serviced by a qualified technician using identical replacement
parts.

ASSEMBLY and OPERATION
Fitting and Removal of the battery
To avoid accidental operation and injury, the battery should always be removed
whenever you are not using the tool. This is essential when you are making adjustments
or maintaining the blade or other moving parts. Use the blade cover when you are storing
or transporting the tool to avoid injury and damage.
To insert the battery, slide it into the battery cradle on the top of the hedge trimmer,
aligning the ribs in the cradle with the slots in the battery until it latches into place. Check
that the battery is securely locked into place
Hold the latch on the rear of the battery pack and slide the battery away from the hedge
trimmer
Starting and stopping the trimmer
This trimmer is equipped with a dual switch safety feature. The saw will not
operate unless both the front handle switch and the rear handle switch are engaged.
NEVER attempt to interfere with this safety feature by taping or clamping the switches.
Switching the trimmer on
A. Remove the blade cover.
B. Press and hold the main switch (1), Press the Self-locking Switch (4) and hold the
Trigger switch at meanwhile. Then Start the Front handle switch
Switching the trimmer off:
A. Release the front handle switch or trigger switch on rear handle to stop the hedge
trimmer.

B. Remove battery pack from the hedge trimmer before transporting or storing the tool.
Rotating handle feature
A. Hold the trimmer with both hands, one hand on the front handle, the other on the
rear handle. Use your thumb to pull the Handle Rotation lock button back and rotate the
handle. The handle will lock in three positions, centre, left 90°and right 90°.
B. Release the Handle Rotation Button which will lock the handle into the chosen position
OPERATING
1. Do not force the hedge trimmer through heavy shrubbery. This can cause the blades to
bind and slow down. If the blades slow down, reduce the pace
2. Do not try to cut stems or twigs that are larger than 15 mm thick, or those obviously too
large to feed into the cutting blade. Use a hand saw or pruning cutters to trim large stems.
3. An easy way to keep your hedge level is to run a string line guide. Stretch a piece of
string along the hedge just below your intended cutting line. Trim the hedge just above this
guide line.
4. Trim the side of a hedge so that it tapers slightly towards the top (the hedge will be
slightly wider at the bottom than at the top. This improves the strength of the hedge and
allows lighter to reach the leaves.

5. If the blades do become jammed, release the trigger switch and allow the blades to stop.
Remove the battery pack before attempting to remove the obstruction.
6. Wear gloves when trimming thorny or prickly growth.
7. When trimming new growth, use a wide sweeping action, so that the stems are fed
directly into the cutting blade. Older growth will have thicker stems and will be trimmed
easiest by using a sawing movement.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
BLADE CARE
1. Lubricate the cutting blades after each use.
2. Periodically inspect the blades for damage and wear.
3. Always use the manufacturer's specified replacement blades.
TO LUBRICATE BLADE
1.For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the hedge trimmer blade before and
after each use.
2.Before lubricating, remove the battery pack and lay hedge trimmer on a flat surface.
3.Apply light machine oil along the edge of the top blade.
4.Always remove the battery pack before lubricating the blades and never apply oil to
moving blades.
STORING
1. Clean the hedge trimmer thoroughly before storing. Store the hedge trimmer with the
battery removed in a dry, well-ventilated place that is inaccessible to children. Keep away
from corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and deicing salts.
2. Always fit the blade cover over the blades before storage. This will protect the blades
from damage and prevent injury on the sharp blades.
3.Store and charge your batteries in a cool, dry area. Temperatures above or below
normal room temperature will shorten battery pack life.
4. Never store the battery in a discharged condition. Wait for the battery to cool and
recharge before storage.

Battery state of charge
Press the button to check the state of charge on the LED indicator.
The indicator goes out after five seconds.
If the LED flashes, the battery must be recharged. If the LED does not light up after the
button is pressed, the battery is faulty and must be replaced by a qualified technician.
Instructions for longer battery life
CAUTION!
Never charge batteries at temperatures below 0 °C or above 40 °C.

Do not charge the batteries in high humidity or temperature.
Do not cover batteries and/or the battery charger when charging.
Battery and charger will heat up when charging - this is normal.
Before a battery is recharged, it should be fully drained first. Let the charging process run
to the end.
NOTE
Follow all instructions when charging the battery.
Shorter usage after recharging indicates the battery is worn and must be replaced by a
qualified technician.
When the batteries are not used for a while, store them partially charged in a cool
location(10–25 C).
Transport
The equivalent lithium content of the batteries included in the product package is below
the appropriate limit values. Therefore, the battery as an individual component as well as
the power tool and its product package are not subject to national or international
dangerous goods regulations.
If several machines with lithium-ion batteries are transported, these regulations may
become relevant and special safety measures may be required (e.g. for the packaging).
In this case find out about the currently valid regulations for the country of use.
CAUTION!
Do not post batteries which have a damaged casing.
Disposal information
The crossed out wheelie bin symbol on the product means that under the
WEEE regulations, all consumer and household electrical and electronic products should
not be mixed with general household waste as it may contain environmentally hazardous
substances. For environmentally responsible recovery, recycling and treatment of the
product, contact your local authority for details of your nearest designated collection point
where it will be accepted free of charge.

USAGE OF CHARGER
This charger can be used with an input voltage of 230V and an AC frequency of 50-60 Hz.
The power cord can be changed to suit the local power socket.
To avoid the risk of damage and injury, only use the charger to recharge ZITEC 40V
Batteries. Never try to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
WARNING: If the charger is plugged in and no LED lights are illuminated, check that the
power cord is firmly plugged into the side of the charger and that the electrical outlet is live,
by testing with a different electrical appliance.
If the charger still does not illuminate it check with your nearest authorized service centre.
Do not attempt to use the charger.
Status indicator lights
-The LED light indicates the operating status and the state of charge of the battery.
-LED steady red –the charger is ready to charge, but no battery is connected

-LED flashes green. Battery is charging.
-LED steady green: The battery is fully charged and should be removed.
-LED flashes red: battery fault or overheat.
Charging the battery
-Plug the charger into an AC outlet 220-250V (normal household voltage).
-Insert the battery into the slots of the charger and slide into place until the battery
locks into place
-The LED will flash green while the battery is charging
-Once the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator will show a steady green light.
-Remove the battery by pressing and holding the latch button and sliding out of the
charger
-Do not leave the battery on the charger. Remove it when it is fully charged
-Lithium Ion batteries have no memory effect –a partial charge will not damage your
battery
Storage of the charger and battery
-For long-term storage (more than 1 month), it is preferable that the battery is fully
charged and stored in a dry place at a temperature between 10 -25 °C.
-The charger should be stored in the same conditions as the battery, taking care
that no foreign objects such as metal chips enter through the ventilation slots of
the charger.
-Ensure that the battery is stored away from anything that might short out the
power connectors on the battery

1) Sicurezza dell’area di lavoro
a) Mantenere l'area di lavoro pulita e ben illuminata. Le aree disordinate e in ombra

3) Sicurezza personale

4) Uso e cura degli utensili elettrici

5) Uso e cura dell’utensile a batteria
a) Utilizzare solo il caricatore specificato dal produttore. Un caricatore adatto a un
tipo di batteria potrebbe causare un incendio se utilizzato con un'altra batteria.
b) Quando non è in uso, tenere il prodotto lontano da graffette, monete, chiavi,
chiodi, viti o altri oggetti metallici che potrebbero creare un collegamento da un
terminale all'altro. Il cortocircuito tra i terminali della batteria potrebbe causare un
incendio.

c) In caso di perdite dalla batteria, evitare il contatto diretto. In caso di contatto
accidentale, lavare con acqua. Se il liquido entra negli occhi, consultare
immediatamente un medico. Il liquido della batteria puòbruciare o causare irritazioni.
6) Riparazione
a) L'utensile elettrico deve essere riparato da un tecnico professionista utilizzando
parti di ricambio originali.
ASSEMBLAGGIO e FUNZIONAMENTO
Inserimento e rimozione della batteria
Per evitare incidenti e lesioni personali, la batteria deve essere sempre rimossa
ogni volta che l’attrezzo non è in uso. Questo è essenziale quando si effettuano
regolazioni o si effettua la manutenzione della lama o di altre parti mobili. Utilizzare il
copri-lama quando si ripone o si trasporta lo strumento per evitare lesioni personali e
danni alla proprietàprivata.
Per inserire la batteria, farla scorrere nel vano batteria presente sulla parte superiore del
tagliasiepi, allineando le scanalature nella base con quelle della batteria finché non si
blocca in posizione. Verificare che la batteria sia bloccata saldamente in posizione

Accendere e spegnere il tagliasiepi
Questo tagliasiepi èdotato di una funzione di sicurezza a doppio interruttore. La lama non
si metteràin funzione a meno che sia l'interruttore dell'impugnatura anteriore che quello
dell'impugnatura posteriore non siano innestati contemporaneamente. NON tentare MAI

di interferire con questa funzione di sicurezza applicando del nastro o bloccando gli
interruttori.
Accensione del tagliasiepi
A. Rimuovere il copri-lama.
B. Tenere premuto l'interruttore principale (1), premere l'interruttore autobloccante (4) e
contemporaneamente tenere premuto l'interruttore di accensione. Quindi, innestare
l'interruttore della maniglia anteriore.
Spegnimento del tagliasiepi:
A. Rilasciare l'interruttore sull'impugnatura anteriore o l'interruttore a grilletto
sull'impugnatura posteriore per arrestare il tagliasiepi.
B. Rimuovere la batteria dal tagliasiepi prima di trasportarlo o riporlo.
Funzione della maniglia rotante
A. Afferrare il tagliasiepi con entrambe le mani, con una mano sull'impugnatura anteriore

B. Rilasciare il pulsante di rotazione della maniglia per bloccarla in posizione desiderata.
FUNZIONAMENTO
1. Non forzare il tagliasiepi attraverso arbusti spessi. Ciòpuòcausare l'inceppamento e il
rallentamento delle lame. Se la rotazione delle lame rallenta, ridurre il ritmo.
