Cuttheshippingstrapsandcarefullylift thecarton
upfromthecooktop.Checkthe cooktopfor visible

accordancewiththeminimumclearancesas
illustrated.Avoid placingcabinetsdirectlyabovethe
cooktopin orderto reducethehazardsin reaching
overtheappliance.Wheninstalled,themaximum
depthof theoverheadcabinetsis 13inches.If the
cabinetsareto beinstalledabovea cooktopwitha
charbroilersection,thebottomofthecabinetsmust
beprotectedwithnoncombustiblematerials.Note
thattheminimumverticaldistancebetweenthe
cooktopsurfaceandthecombustiblecabinetsabove
thecooktopis40". If a ventilatinghoodisused,we

thecooktop.Thehooddepthmustbe 19"minimum.
IMPORTANT: Any openingin the wallbehindthe
applianceandin thecabinettopundertheappliance
mustbesealed.

Shutoff gassupplybeforeremovinganold cooktop
andleaveit off until newinstallationis completed.
Useonlypipejoint compoundthatis approvedfor
usewith liquified petroleumgases.Installa manual
shut-offvalvein anaccessiblelocationinthegas
piping,externalto therangefor thepurposeof
turningonor shuttingoff gasto thecooktop.
.The applianceandits individualshut-offvalve
mustbedisconnectedfromthegassupplypiping
systemduringanypressuretestingof thatsystem
attestpressuresin excessof 1/2psig(3.5kPa)
.The appliance mustbe isolated from the gas supply
piping systemby closing its individual manual
shut-off valve during anypressuretesting of the
gas supply piping systemat testpressuresequalto
or lessthan 1/2 psig (3.5 kPa). Check incoming
gas supplypressureandthe manifold pressure
(after the regulator) using amanometer.The
required manifold pressurefor natural gasis 5"
water column and for LP is 10"W.C. The gas
supply line mustbe at least 1" W.C. (249 fa)
abovethe manifold pressureand must not exceed
14"W.C. (3.5 kPa or 1/2 psi)

Toreplaceorificesof topburnerandsimmerburner,
follow thesesteps: Toreplaceminimumflow rateorifice ongasvalves,
follow thesesteps:
.Ensure that all gasvalves are OFF and cooktop
is cold. 1Ensure that all gasvalves are OFF.
2. Removeallvalveknobs.
2. Removeallgrates. 3. Remove front panel.
4. Unscrewandreplaceminimumflow-rate
orificesonallvalves.Referto gasvalvedrawing
andorifice chart.
3. Usingthespeciallydesignedhex-head
screwdriver,unscreworificesof topburnersand
simmerburners,andreplacethemwith
respectiveorificesasshownperorificechart.
4. Replaceall burnercapsandgrates.Makesure
thatcapsrestfully onburnerbases. 5. Installall frontpanels.
6. Insertknobsonvalvestems.

Theair for combustionandventilationis supplied
throughthe front of thecooktop.Theair is exhausted
upward.Do notobstructtheflow of combustionand
ventilationair.
Beforestartup,makesurethatthecooktophasbeen
carefullycheckedfor gasleaksandthatit hasbeen
properlyconnectedto electricpower. Theburnersaretestedandadjustedatthefactory
priorto shippingcooktop.Adjustmentis notrequired
onburners.
OpelrlTop Burners
Theopentopburnersareinsetsoftwo.Theright
burnerknobcontrolsthefrontburnerandtheleft knob
controlstherear.Toignitethegasattheburner,push
knobinandturnknobtoLITE-SIM.Youwill heara
clickingsoundindicatingtheproperoperationof the
sparkigniter.Aftertheair inthesupplylinehasbeen
purged,thegasshouldigniteattheburner.After
ignition,turnknobto desiredsetting.Theclicking
soundshouldstop.
