Assembling your Dyson

• Ensure the wand cap is closed.
• Ensure hose is kept straight when
inserting wand into hose.
ASlide hose into runners at back
of machine and click into place.
BSlide wand straight down in to
hose until it clicks into place.
Click wand handle into top
of machine.
Click tools into place. Wind cable anti-clockwise around
cable winders and secure with clip.

•Do not press the cyclone release
catch whilst carrying the machine or
it could fall and cause injury.
• Ensure the cyclone is secured to the
machine.
• Do not shake the machine
whilst carrying or it could fall and
cause injury.
• Keep hair and loose fabrics away
from wand cap when machine is on.
Anti-jam brushbar
(models with brush control)
DC14 models without brush control
are not suitable for hard floors, as
the brushbar cannot be turned off.
We recommend brush control
models for homes with mixed
flooring.
Ensure the machine is fully upright
before adjusting the setting.
For hard floors
For carpets
Plug in and press on/off button.
Push cleaner head down with foot
and pull handle towards you.
Telescope ReachTM Wand
ALift up wand cap.
BPull metal wand from inside
handle until it clicks.
Carrying your Dyson
Ensure machine is upright before
carrying. Use the carry handle at
the top of the cyclone to lift.
CPress button to release hose and
wand handle from machine.
DTo push wand back inside hose,
ensure hose is straight. Press the
release catch and push wand
back inside wand handle.
Important information
• The machine is intended for
domestic use only.
• Fine dust such as plaster dust
should only be vacuumed in very
small amounts.

• Ensure machine is in upright
position before using tools.
• Ensure hair and loose clothing are
kept clear of wand cap when
machine is switched on.
• Ensure wand cap is closed, unless
using with tools.
• Powerful suction can cause the
hose to ‘pull back’. Please take
care when cleaning stairs.
Hose mode
BWith wand extended, press side
buttons to remove wand handle
from the hose.
CThe tools can be fitted directly to
the end of the hose.
Stair cleaning
Always work with the machine at
the bottom of the stairs.
