Carefully read the manual

BSC 100
Beware:
-To avoid scratching the glass platform take off your street footwear or hard
sole wear before weighting.
-The glass platform may be slippery if it is wet. Before weighting please make
sure that the sole of your foot and the glass platform are dry.
-For cleaning you can use a fine towel lightly soaked in alcohol. Do not use
water, avoid exposing the scale to extreme cold and heat.
-Do not jump on the scale, do not hit it or drop it. Its precision may deteriorate
due to violent shocks.
-This scale is not built for professional use.
-We recommend replacing the battery if functioning errors occur. If the errors
do not stop appearing, please call our customer service or schedule an
apointment on www.e-boda.ro.

Mode of operation:
-Mount the battery in the pack inside the assigned space on the back of the
scale respecting the marked polarity on the battery and on the cover of battery
slots.
-Place the scale on a rigit, perfectly plain and clean surface.
-Press on the glass platform and the scale will show a series of number ”8” and
then 0.0Kg.
-Press the ↑or ↓buttons to change the measurement unit (kg,lb,st:lb).
-Gently step on the scale with both legs. Place your feet closer to the center of
the glass platform, then straighten up and do not move for a few seconds. The
screen will show your real weight after it clips three times.
-The screen will automatically turn off if the scale is not used anymore.
-To estimate body fat, hydration level, muscle and bone, follow the steps below:
Press the SET button to initialize the input of personal data. Press ↑or↓for
selecting a memory position, then press SET to continue. Press ↑or↓for
selecting user gender, then press SET to continue. Press ↑or↓to insert the
user’s age (10-80), then press SET to continue. Press ↑or↓to insert the height
of user (100-240), then press SET to finalize.
Caution:
-For accurately measuring your weight we recommend weighting yourself a
few days in a row at the exact same hour (ex. 7 PM).
-Replace the battery when the LCD displays ”LO”.
-When the LCD screen displays „”Err” you could have exceeded the 150Kg
limit.
-If the body fat level is below 5%, the screen will show the message „FatL”. If
the fat level surpasses 50%, the screen will show the message „FatH” then
„Err2”, meaning that the measurement was not made correctly.

Calculate your BMI !
(Body Mass Index)
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a number that is calculated using the weight and
height of a person. It is a pretty accurate indicator of the fat in the body for most
people. BMI does not measure the body fat in a direct way. BMI can be considered
an alternative to measuring the body fat directly. What is more, calculating the BMI
is a cheap and accessible way of monitoring the weight categories that could create
health issues.
For women, an excellent BMI is between 21 and 23. Overweight is
indicated by a BMI 20% bigger than the highest possible value (over 27.3), while
obesity has values 40% bigger than the maximum ideal indicator (over 32.3).
For men, an excellent BMI is between 22 and 24. Overweight is indicated
by a BMI 16% bigger than the highest possible value (over 27.8), while obesity has
values 40% bigger than the maximum ideal indicator (over 31.1).
Calculating the BMI is recommended for persons over 20 years old. In case
of children and adolescents calculating it is more complex and that is why different
methods of calculating the BMI are applied.

-What is body fat? (BF)?
The body fat percentage (BF%) is represented by the essential body
fat and deposited fat. The essential body fat is necessary for maintaining life
and reproductive functions. For men, it is about 2-5% of the total body mass
while at women it is between 8-12%.
For women, the optimal body fat level is between 25% and 31%.
For men, the optimal body fat level is between 18% and 24%.
The exception is professional sport players because of the increased muscle
mass. The table below shows the body fat levels for different sports.

-What is hydration?
The human body contains about 45-70% water. Because of the fact that we are
composed of mostly water, maintaining an optimal hydration level is extremely

important for our health. it is recommended that men drink 3 and women 2.2 liters
of water daily.
An optimal hydration level is considered to be between 60% and 70%.
Because of the fact that the human metabolism uses body fat as fuel, it is necessary
to make it work as fast as possible. It needs water for processing calories. The
metabolism slows down in case of dehydration due to this fact. According to a study
made at the end of 2003, after consuming 2 glasses of water, the metabolism speeds
up with 30%.
Other references:
Technological evolution made people sedentary and that means the body has low
energy consumption. In the tables below you can find the daily calories necessary
based on your activity.

-Recycling:
This product is marked with the distinctive mark of selective sorting
for electric and electronic waste. This symbol indicates the fact that
this product must be accepted by a selective waste collection center,
in the accord with the directive EU 2002/96/CE, so that it can be
recycled or disasembled to reduce the impact to the environment.
Beware! Electronic products, unsorted selectively, may affect the
health of the environment and people because they may contain dangerous
substances.
BATTERIES:
- Throwing the batteries in the garbage is forbidden. Take the used box to recycle
centers.
- Incorrect use of batteries may cause leaks or corrosion.
- Do not mount the batteries incorrectly.
- Charging/hitting/opening/shirt-circuiting the batteries is dangerous.
- Do not let drain batteries inside the scale.
- Replace batteries when the scale is functioning improperly.
- Clean the liquid and replace the batteries if they have leaked inside the scale.
- The batteries inside the pack do not contain heavy metals.
