• Apply appropriate personal protective equip ent(PPE) and follow
safety work practices
• Only qualified electrical workers should install this equip ent. Such work
should be perfor ed only after reading this entire set of instructions.
• If the equip ent is not used in the anner specified by the
anufacturer, the protection provided by the equip ent ay be
i paired.
• NEVER work alone.
• Turn OFF all power supplying the energy eter and the equip ent in
which it is installed before working on it.
• The successful operation of this equip ent depends upon proper
handling, installation and operation. Neglecting funda ental installation
require ents ay lead to personal injury as well as da age to
electrical equip ent or other property.
• NEVER bypass external fusing.
• NEVER short the secondary of PT
• NEVER open circuit a CT; use the shorting block to short circuit the leads
of CT before re oving the connection fro energy eter.
• Before perfor ing Dielectric or Megger testing on any equip ent in
which the energy eter is installed, disconnect all the input and output
wires to the energy eter. High voltage testing ay da age electronic
co ponents contained in the energy eter.
• The energy eter should be installed in a suitable electrical enclosure.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious injury.
• EAPL is not responsible for any consequential da ages arising out of use
of our products, though the technology is cautiously chosen and
i ple ented like any other well designed good electric eter.
