Operation
NOTICE!
− Do not overfill your washing machine. Your textile will be less
prone to wrinkling as a result.
− Iron fine, sensitive textiles while they are still damp.
− Before you start ironing, sort textiles by fabric type or the tem-
perature setting to be used.
− Begin with the textiles that are to be ironed at a low tempera-
ture. This will save time as the iron heats up faster than it cools
off and will also prevent any damage to the textiles or burn
marks.
− With blended fabrics (e.g. 40% cotton, 60% synthetics), always
use the lower temperature for the more sensitive fabric.
NOTICE!
− If you are not entirely sure of the constituents of the fabric,
always start by ironing an inconspicuous area of the garment in-
side out at a low temperature. If applicable, you can increase the
temperature if you notice that the fabric has not been damaged.
− Always iron garments with prints, embroidery, lace, sequins or
similar appliqués inside out at the lowest temperature.
− Only iron velvet in the direction of the pile and do not exert any
pressure. This will avoid any uneven shine.
− Place the garment you would like to iron on the ironing board
so that there are as few wrinkles as possible and move the iron
back and forth evenly. Do not iron one spot for too long to avoid
burn marks.

WARNING!
Burn hazard!
The water steam that is emitted is very hot.
− Do not point the vapor stream at other persons
or animals.
− Keep your hands and other parts of your body
away from the textile while you are using the
steam burst function.
NOTICE!
Risk of damage!
Make sure that the water tank was filled before steam
ironing with water.
1. If applicable, fill the water tank with water as described under “Adding
water”.
2. Set the temperature control dial 12 to a position between ••• and MAX
(see Fig. D).
3. Set the steam control dial 2 to a position between and MAX depend-
ing on the selected temperature and required amount of steam.
4. Now place the garment you would like to iron on the ironing board and iron
it. Steam will be emitted as soon as the soleplate is flat on the textile.
5. As soon as you place the steam iron on the pedestal 8, the emission of
steam will stop.
Using the steam burst function
An extra amount of steam will be emitted with the steam burst function. This
may be useful if you would like to freshen up and smooth hanging textiles such
as curtains etc.
1. Select a high temperature for steam ironing ( up to MAX).
Set the iron down on the pedestal and wait until the operating control light
goes out.
2. Press the steam button 4 in order to release a steam burst. Steam will be
emitted from the soleplate 11 (see Fig. F).

Push the steam button and work on the curtains.
NOTICE!
− Steam can only be produced if you have set a temperature
which is as high as possible.
− Depending on the fabric blend, thickness and wrinkling charac-
teristics, the required amount of steam may vary considerably.
More steam is needed to iron a wrinkly fabric, e.g. linen, than for
thin cottons.
Dry ironing
1. Operate the steam iron as described under “Preparations for first use”.
2. Set the temperature control dial 12 to the desired temperature (see Fig. D).
3. Set the steam control dial 2 to the position (no steam).
4. Iron the textiles.

You can use the spray function to dampen garments with stubborn wrinkles so
you can remove them easier. You can use this function when steam ironing, but
also when dry ironing.
1. Iron your textiles as described under “Dry ironing” or “Steam ironing”.
2. Press the spray button 3 as needed. Water will be emitted from the spray
nozzle 14 .

Other functions:
Anti-drip function
This function is always engaged and prevents unwanted drops of water from
leaking out of the steam vents and staining the garments.
Anti-limescale function
The steam iron is equipped with a special resin filter located in the water tank.
It prevents limescale deposits in the soleplate.
Do not use any distilled or demineralized water or chemical additives. This will
suppress the anti-limescale function.
Automatic switch-off function
The steam iron will automatically switch off if it is not being used for a certain
period of time in an activated state.
• Horizontal position: If the iron is resting on the soleplate and is not being
moved for approx. 20-25 seconds, it switches off.
• Vertical position: If the iron is resting on the pedestal and is not being moved
for approx. 8 minutes, it switches off.
NOTICE!
A short acoustic sound will be emitted and the power LED 5 will
flash if the automatic switch-off function has been triggered.
As soon as you move the device again, the switch-off function is deactivated
and the device is ready to be used again.
