This user manual accompanies this 12 stitch sewing machine
(hereafter referred to as the “sewing machine”), and contains
important information on setup and use.
Before using the sewing machine, read the user manual carefully.
This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to do so may result in
personal injury or damage to the sewing machine.
Store the user manual in a safe place for future reference. Make sure to include
this user manual when passing the sewing machine on to third parties.
Explanation of symbols
The following symbols and signal words are used in this user manual, on the
sewing machine or on the packaging.
DANGER! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with a high degree of risk, which will result in
death or severe injury if not avoided.
WARNING! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with moderate risk, which may result in
death or severe injury if not avoided.
CAUTION! This signal symbol/word designates a hazard
with low risk, which may result in minor or
moderate injury if not avoided.
NOTICE! This signal word warns of possible damage
to property.
This symbol provides you with useful additional information on
handling and use.

efficiency of external and internal power supplies. The energy
efficiency symbol indicates the efficiency level and the ratings
are classified up to level VI (most efficient level).

Safety
8
ETL Listed products are tested by Intertek and meets the
minimum requirements of U.S. and/or Canadian electrical safety
standards. It reflects a manufacturers dedication to the safety
and quality of their products.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requires all
commercial electronic devices to comply to this norm (see
section ‘Declaration of conformity’).
UL develops standards and test procedures for products,
materials, components, assemblies, tools and equipment,
chiefly dealing with product safety.
Safety

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
Risk of electric shock!
A faulty electrical installation, excessive line voltage, or incorrect
operation may result in an electric shock.
− Only connect the sewing machine if the outlet
corresponds to the data on the rating plate.

this is the case, do not use the sewing machine. Contact the manufacturer
via the service address indicated on the warranty card.
Operating instructions
There are two ways to operate the sewing machine:
• the foot pedal (when the power OFF/speed switch is in the
“OFF” position), or
• the power OFF/speed switch (L stands for low speed while
H stands for high speed)
Installing/changing the batteries
1. Make sure the Power OFF/speed switch 6is in the “OFF” position.
2. Turn the sewing machine over onto a flat surface and remove the battery
compartment cover 30 (see Fig. D).
3. Remove any old or dead batteries.

sure the polarity (+/–) is correct, and replace the battery compartment
cover.
Connecting the power adapter and foot pedal
1. Make sure the Power OFF/speed switch 6is in the “OFF” position and the
batteries are removed.

the way into the clamp before
tightening the needle clamp
screw.

Operating instructions
17
Winding a bobbin
• Always use a metal bobbin, otherwise the magnetized bob-
bin case will not be able to function properly, resulting in a
lack of tension on the bobbin thread.
• Bobbins
22 and thread spools 25 may be stored in the
small drawer 5on the side of the machine (see Fig. F).
1. Turn the sewing machine so
that you are facing it from
behind.
2. Place an empty bobbin onto
the bobbin winder pin 13
and push it to the left.
3. Place a spool of thread on
the spool pin 14 , so that the
thread rolls off the spool in a
counterclockwise direction.
If desired, place the thread
spool cap 26 on the spool
pin.
4. Guide the thread to the thread
guide disk 15 and slip it
securely under the disk, going
counterclockwise.
5. Wrap the end of the thread
clockwise around the bobbin
several times.

Operating instructions
18
6. Press the foot pedal 29 (or set the power OFF/speed switch to “L” if you're
using batteries) to start winding.
7. Stop winding after the desired amount of thread is wound onto the
bobbin.
8. Push the bobbin winder pin and bobbin back to the right.
9. Remove the bobbin from the bobbin winder pin and then cut the thread.
Threading the sewing machine
1. Set the power OFF/speed
switch 6to the “OFF”
position. L OFF H
2. Raise the presser foot lifter 17
and turn the handwheel 3
counterclockwise until
the needle is in its highest
position.
3. Place a thread spool 25 onto
the spool pin 14 , making sure
that the thread rolls off the
spool in a counterclockwise
direction.
When needed, use the thread
spool pin foot 27 and/or
thread spool cap 26 .
4. Hook the thread through
the thread guide 16
and then securely slip it
counterclockwise under the
thread guide disk 15 .

Operating instructions
19
5. Bring the thread down
through the tension disk slot,
go around the U-turn, and
bring it back up.
6. Pass the thread through the
eye of the take up lever 1,
from right to left.
7. Bring the thread back down
and thread the guide, from
top to bottom, on the needle
clamp.
8. Thread the needle from front
to back, making sure that
the thread is to the back of
the needle and on top of the
presser foot.

Operating instructions
20
Using the needle threader
1. Gently push the wire loop
of the needle threader 23
through the eye of the needle,
from back to front.
2. Pass about 4 inches of thread
through the wire loop of the
needle threader.
3. Pull the needle threader back
through the eye of the needle,
bringing the thread with it.
Threading a bobbin
Always use a metal bobbin, otherwise the magnetized bobbin
case will not be able to function properly, resulting in a lack of
tension on the bobbin thread.
1. Turn the handwheel 3
counterclockwise until the
needle is in its highest position.
2. Raise the presser foot lifter 17 .
3. Slide the bobbin compartment
cover 7towards you and
remove it.
