USING YOUR 4-IN-1 BIRD HOTEL
Your 4-in-1 Bird Hotel comes with a rechargeable battery installed, this is charged by the solar panel for
maintenance free long term use without having the cost of using standard non-rechargeable batteries.
To protect the battery during delivery it has been isolated, so before use the isolation tab needs to be
removed.
1. Take the Solar Light (A) from the Bird Hotel and whist holding the main body of the light twist the top
anti-clockwise to unlock. The solar panel top is connected to the main body by two wires so care
should be taken when lifting off the top once unlocked.
2. With the solar panel top lifted off the battery compartment is now visible, the battery will be in place
but a small tab will be between the battery and one of the terminals. Remove this tab so that the
battery now makes contact with the terminal.
3. In the battery compartment there is also an On/Off Switch, put this in the On position if it isn’t
already.
4. Replace the solar panel on to the top of the light unit, turning clockwise to lock in place.
The Solar Light (A) can now be replaced in the top of the 4-in1 Bird Hotel. We recommend that on rst
use the solar light is given a full days charge in direct sunlight, please note that it will take several cycles
of daytime charge and night time use for the rechargeable battery to be conditioned and give the best
possible duration of the lamp at night.
Also please be aware that the charging of the battery, and therefore the length of time the lamp works
through the night, is directly relative to the sunlight that it receives during the day. So for optimum
performance the 4-in-1 Bird Hotel should be positioned where it can collect the greatest amount of full
sunlight. On overcast days, if the Bird Hotel is positioned in a shady area or during the winter months
when there is less daylight hours the lamp will operate for a shorter time in the evening.
DISPOSAL
• Please respect the environment!
• Dispose of the packaging according to the local recycling regulations.
• Dispose of the appliance at the end of its life span according to environmental considerations.
