Introduction:
The EasyPet®rechargeable intelligent anti bark collar EP-28A is specially designed for cases
where dogs are particularly constant barkers or especially stubborn. Continually giving your
dog plenty of warning before it becomes painful, EP-28A’s unique pattern of sound, vibration
and 18 levels of progressively increasing static stimulus quickly teaches your dog that it is its
own bark that is causing the discomfort. With its advanced Auto-Set memory technology, EP-
28A can protect your dog from over stimulation. The more he barks, the higher the static
correction is. As he learns to bark less frequently, EP-28A anti bark collar will stop at the level
just right for your dog. A very humane yet effective approach to excessive bark control.
Main Features:
•Rechargeable and fully submersible; solid built to withstand repeated usage.

•Triple detection technology—3-way triggered response: vibration from vocal cords +
sound from the bark + pre-set barking time frame to minimize false triggering.
•3 Correction Modes & built-in safety feature—Humane combination of beep, vibration
and 18 levels of progressive static stimulus corrections (optional).
•Static stimulus correction can be manually turned off if undesired.
•Comes with a pair of plastic prongs for pure vibration purpose only (no shock).
•Auto-set memory feature to protect your dog from over-stimulation.
•LED light power indicator.
•Light weight and compact collar unit with high quality waterproof strap.
Principles of Operations:
When your dog barks, EP-28A will first apply a low-pitched tone. If a second bark occurs, a
vibration correction will be administered. If your dog barks a third time, it will give a short beep
tone with the vibration correction, and emit the stimulation on the mildest level. The
stimulation levels increase every time your dog barks until he stops barking. After your dog
has stopped barking, the microprocessor will automatically remember the correct level which
stops your dog’s barking and will start from the exact level when he barks again (Auto Set
Memory). There are 18 levels of static stimulus. At each step, your dog gets to choose
whether it is worth the increasing pain to bark again. We have found this technique of
combination of warning tone, vibration and shock is not only more humane, but also more
effective in breaking the barking habit than conventional shocking anti bark collars.
Quick Start
Step 1 Charging the Collar
WARNING: The collar should be off the dog for this step!
1.1 Lift the small rubber tab on the collar to access the charging port.
1.2 Plug the supplied wall charger into the wall socket and into the charging port of the
receiver.

1.3 A red LED light will be visible on both the charger and on the collar during the charging
process. For the first few cycles of charging, please charge the collar for 4 to 5 hours. The
subsequent charge will take around 3 hours.
1.4 Once the collar is fully charged, the indicator LED light on the collar will turn green. Unplug
the collar from the power cord and secure the rubber charging port tab. To insert the rubber
tab smoothly into the charging port, please make sure the rubber stud on the rubber tab is in
vertical position (as shown in the picture).
1.5 Low power indicator: When the indicator LED lights flash red rapidly (twice per second),
the battery inside is running low. Please recharge the collar.
Step 2. Turning on/off the collar

When the charging is complete, the collar unit will be turned on automatically once the charger
pin is unplugged from it.
2.1 Turning on the collar: To turn the collar unit on from OFF mode, press and hold down the
power button for three seconds, the collar unit will vibrate twice quickly with a green light
flashing once.
2.2 Turning off the collar: To turn the collar unit off from ON mode, press and hold down the
power button for three seconds, the collar unit will vibrate twice quickly with a red light flashing
once.
2.3 To preserve the battery life of the collar, always turn the collar off when not in use.
Step 3 Testing the collar
To test the collar manually and see if it can get triggered properly, simply hold the collar unit
with one hand and tap both of the metal prongs with finger tips rapidly. The collar will start to
beep, vibrate, and give electric shock correction (shock correction mode enabled) when it’s
triggered continuously.
Step 4 Choose the proper working mode for your dog
There are two working modes on the collar.
The first mode is shock correction enabled mode. In this mode, the collar will gradually give
beep, vibration and 18 levels of shock correction unit the dog stops barking.
The second mode is with pure vibration correction mode, the collar unit will only give beep and
vibration correction to the dog to stop barking.
4.1 Shock correction enabled mode
By default, the collar unit is in shock correction enabled mode. When the collar unit is on, the
indicator light will flash RED once every 6 seconds to indicate the collar unit is in shock
correction enabled mode. To change the collar into shock correction enable mode from pure
vibration mode, simply press the power button quickly for three times.
4.2 Pure vibration correction mode
To change the collar to work in pure vibration correction mode, simply press the power button
quickly for three times, the indicator light should start flashing GREEN once every 6 seconds.

4.3 Alternative way to disable/isolate the shock correction
Simply unscrew the metal prongs on the collar unit and put on the plastic prongs instead, this
will also remove the shock correction effect on the dog.
4.4 Standby mode on the collar
If the collar is not triggered within 10 minutes in a quiet environment, the collar will go into
standby mode. The indicator light on the collar will stay off. If you wish to check which mode
the collar is working on, simply press on the power button once, this will bring the collar unit
back into working mode and the indicator light should start flashing slowly (once every 6
seconds) to show you which mode the collar is working on.
When the collar is in standby mode, any barking from the dog or sound from surroundings will
re-activate the collar into working mode.

Step 5 Built-in Safety Feature
When the collar reaches highest correction level, and your dog continues to bark more than 10
times within one minute period, the collar will go into safety mode for 3 minutes. When collar
unit is in safety mode, it will only give three short indicator beeps when triggered and will not
give any other corrections.
Step 6 Using the Collar
6.1 Fit the Collar to Your Dog
A proper fit is important for EP-28A collar to function properly on your dog. Make sure the
collar is off before placing it on your dog.
Have your dog standing comfortably and place the probes around half inch above or below the
dog’s Adam’s Apple. The probes must be in direct contact with the dog’s skin. Excess hair on
the dog’s neck can be parted with your fingers, thinned by brushing, or trimmed with scissors.
Do not shave its neck as it may cause a rash or infection.
Fit the strap as snugly as possible, without restricting breathing. You should be able to fit one
finger between the strap and your dog’s skin at the back of its neck. Allow your dog to wear
the collar for several minutes, then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your dog becomes
more comfortable with the EP-28A collar. Remove the collar and trim the excess.
Your Dog’s First Session
The collar is active when the battery is fully charged. Simply put the collar on your dog and
enjoy the peace and quiet!
Monitor your dog during his first session. This is when he will learn what the collar means.
Dogs learn at different speeds. It may take several barks or even several sessions for your
dog to reduce his barking. Don’t worry- the auto-set feature will start at the lowest level and
adjust to the right level to motivate your dog to stop barking. The collar will remember the
correct level between uses.
Resetting the Collar
If you wish to reset the collar back to the lowest level, simply turn off the collar and turn it back
on. The collar will now be on the lowest level.

Replacing battery
The rechargeable battery used in the collar is a 3.7v lithium battery (model: ICR2). In the event
that the battery needs to be replaced, unscrew the screws on the back of the collar unit,
remove the old battery from battery compartment, leave the collar unit without the battery for 2
minutes (to help the collar unit to reset itself), insert a new battery into the battery
compartment, make sure the sponge on the cover is right above the battery side and screw
the cover back to the collar unit. (Important: please insert the battery in the correct polarity
direction as shown in the picture, insertion in wrong direction will damage the collar unit). After
replacing the battery, put the collar unit on charge before turning it on. For supply of
replacement rechargeable battery, please contact your retailer for details if required.
Care and Cleaning:
•Your dog's neck and the contact probes must be washed weekly with a damp cloth.
•Be sure that your pet's neck is thoroughly dry before placing the EP-28A collar back on
his neck.
CAUTION! Risk of skin damage!
•For comfort, safety and effectiveness of this product, please ensure that you check the
fit of your pet's collar frequently. If any skin irritation is observed, discontinue the use of
the collar for a few days. If the condition persists beyond 24 hours, see your
veterinarian.

•Do not attach a lead to this collar. This can result in pulling the contact probes too
tightly against your pet's neck. Attach a lead to a separate, non-metallic collar or
harness, making sure the extra collar does not put pressure on the contact probes.
Troubleshooting
If the collar appears not to be working, try the following:
•Adjust the collar strap to fit;
•Recharge the battery;
•Check that the probes are tightened;
•Ensure that probes are touching the dog’s skin;
•If necessary, trim the dog’s hair to ensure proper skin contact.
Important Notes
1. Read the complete manual before use.
2. This collar is intended for use ONLY on dogs. Never attempt to use it for any purpose
not described in this manual.
3. Due to the nature of this collar, it should ONLY be used on healthy dogs who are over
6 months old. We accept no liability where the collar is not used correctly. If your dog is
being treated for a heart condition, or your dog is old or unwell, please consult your vet
before you use this or similar products.
4. Never perform set-up procedures while the collar is on your dog.
5. Any collar worn for extended periods can cause a condition similar to bedsores, know
as Pressure Necrosis. To reduce the possibility, you must do the following:
•Supervise your dog during the first 2 days of training.
•Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure. You should be able to insert one finger
between the collar strap and your dog’s skin.
•Never leave the collar on the dog for more than 12 consecutive hours.
•Examine the dog’s neck daily for any signs of a rash or a sore.

•Wash the dog’s neck area and the probes of the collar weekly with a wash cloth and
mild hand soap, rinse thoroughly.
•If the condition persists beyond 24 hours, see your vet.
6. Other collars and metal tags should be removed when using the bark control collar as
they may interfere with proper operation.
7. This collar is not intended for use as a restraining collar. If you are using a leash, use it
with a separate restraining type of collar.
8. If you have reason to believe that your dog may pose a danger to others, harm himself,
or react adversely to the collar, do not rely solely on this product to train your dog. If
your dog shows signs of growling, snarling or biting while using the collar, stop
immediately. Aggression in dogs has many causes. We recommend that you should
consult a knowledgeable professional dog trainer or animal behaviourist who has
experience with aggressive dogs if your dog has shown any of these characteristics.
