The rigiditemsandplasticparts ofachildrestraintmust be so locatedand
installedthattheyarenotliable,duringeverydayuseofthe vehicle, to become
trapped by a movable seat or inadoorofthevehicle.
Any strapsholdingthe restrainttothe vehicleshould be tight,anystraps
restraining the child should be adjusted to the child's body, and straps should not be
twisted.
Theimportance of ensuring that any lap strap is worn low down, so that the
pelvis is firmly engaged, shall be stressed.
Thedevice should be changed when it hasbeensubject to violent stresses in an
accident.
A generalwarningshall be given to the userconcerningthedanger of making
anyalterations or additions to the device withouttheapproval of thecompetent
authority, andadanger of notfollowingcloselytheinstallationinstructions
provided by thechildrestraintmanufacturer.
Whenthechairisnotprovided withatextilecover, thechairshould be kept
awayfrom sunlight,otherwise it may be too hot for the child’s skin.
Do notleaveanychild inachildrestraintsystemunattended.
Anyluggage or otherobjects liable to causeinjuries in theevent ofacollision
shall be properly secured.
There shall be provisionsmadesothattheinstructionscan be retainedonthe
childrestraintforits lifeperiod.
Do not use any loadbearing contactpoints other than those described in the
instructionsandmarked in thechildrestraint.
