The Rain Remote Roof Controller is an electronic switching unit that enhances the benefits you can enjoy from
your Opening Roof. The unique design of the Rain Remote ensures easy and convenient operation of your
roof. A key feature of the unit is a Rain Sensor that is mounted on the roof that will automatically close all roof
banks when rain (or touch) contact the sensor.
The Rain Remote is controlled by a 4 button remote handset. When the buttons are pushed individually they
operate the primary functions of the unit. When two buttons are pressed together, additional secondary
functions are operated, giving you complete roof control.

Remote Handset
You can wall mount the remote holder so the handset is easily accessible. The
handset should be kept indoors mostly to prevent moisture ingress.
The two groups of bouncing boxes show that the handset and control box are
sending and receiving signals to operate the roof correctly. If you only have one
set of bouncing boxes there is a communication error and the control box may
require a power reset.
The Remote handset Home screen displays the motor you are controlling - 1 or 2
and r when rain mode is on. To refresh your home screen press Open or Close.
Handset Functions
OPEN –Rotates the louvres open, from 0 –180 degrees
CLOSE –Rotates the louvres closed, from 180 degrees to closed
MODE –Short press shows current Rain mode, press STEP to toggle rain
on or off. Short press mode again to exit rain mode showing on screen. An r will
appear on the remote home screen near the 1 or 2 when the unit is in rain mode.
A long press of MODE will show motor current draw, which is useful for installers
as they set up the controller.
STEP –Steps between the banks of louvres 1, to 2, back to 1. etc
Two button functions
OPEN + MODE –Closes the banks of louvres 1 at a time, then re-opens
them 1 at a time to approximately 90degs.
CLOSE + MODE –Closes the banks of louvres 1 at a time.

Power Cuts
If there is a power cut, the unit will switch itself back ON after power is restored. When the power
comes back on the unit will re-program itself by going through a "start-up" routine that will open
and close the louvres. The unit will come back on with the rain protection mode switched ON. If
rain is detected in this period the roof will close and only go through the start up sequence once
the rain sensor has dried out.
Rain Sensor
The Rain Sensor allows you to leave your roof open to maximise the light, sun and ventilation all
year round. Once the rain sensor is activated by rain (or touch) the rain sensor will close the louvres
until approximately one hour after the rain sensor has dried out. The re-opening feature will open
the louvres to a preset position (ask your installer for further information).
To deactivate the rain sensor- press MODE and the screen shows current Rain mode R:on or R:of
(due to minimal screen width). Press STEP to toggle rain on or off. Short press mode again to exit
rain mode. An r will appear on the remote home screen near the 1 or 2 when the unit is in rain
mode.
Cleaning
Your Rain Sensor face will require cleaning from time to time to ensure no dirt, salt or bird
droppings have formed on the sensor. Close the louvres prior to cleaning, then gently wipe over
the sensor with a damp cloth. Use the Open button to open your louvres after cleaning the sensor.
Batteries
Occasionally you will need to replace the batteries in the remote handset. To do this remove the
screw in the back of the handset and gently lift off the back cover to reveal the batteries. Slide out
the old batteries and replace with the new. The batteries required are 2x standard “AAA”. Please
use quality batteries to ensure quality signal strength.

Other Sensor & options
Other sensors and options are available but may not be available on this system,
e.g. smoke sensor, wind sensor, Bluetooth phone app. If any other options are
required ask your local representative for further information.

tick and the Regulatory compliance mark (RCM); this is only valid when the Touchpad &/or
the R/C Handset are the only accessible modules to the client. All other components may
only be accessible for repairs and maintenance reasons.
