2. Introduction
As reputable manufacturers, we ensure that our products are designed and built to satisfy the necessary safety
standards when installed and used appropriately.
Your eControl Cooker has all of the benefits of a heat storage cooker, with the extra convenience of being able to turn
the two hotplates on and off as needed.
To familiarise yourself with the product, refer to the diagram in the Overview chapter and the relevant sections for
the ovens, plates, controls, etc.
Please read the following before using your new appliance for your own safety and convenience.
Keep natural ventilation openings open or install a mechanical ventilation device to ensure that the kitchen is well
ventilated (mechanical extractor hood).
Prolonged intensive use of the device may necessitate additional ventilation, such as opening a window, or more
effective ventilation, such as enhancing the amount of mechanical ventilation in the surrounding area.
Local and national wiring regulations must be followed, and the installation must be completed by a trained engineer.
When first turned on, a small amount of smoke and odour may be produced. This is typical and harmless (due to
oven lagging and starch binder on element insulation), ventilate the room where required.
3. INSTAHEAT Hob
The hotplates are operated separately from the ovens and of each other.
On the left, the steel boiling plate is located, and on the right, the INSTAHEAT hob is located. The INSTAHEAT hob can
heat up significantly faster than a standard hot plate and is capable of higher temperatures where required.
The eControl INSTAHEAT hob uses a powerful 2.5kw commercial grade infrared heating element capable of ultra-fast
high temperatures.
The Hob selector switch allows the user to decide which hobs are on an any one time. The green neon on the left
hand hob diagram will glow green whilst the hob is selected.
The absolute temperature of the INSTAHEAT hob is controlled by the right hob temperature control on the control
panel (see diagram below).
Cooking can take place on the entire hotplate area, and multiple pans can be placed on a single plate at the same
time. DO NOT DRAG ITEMS FROM ONE PLATE TO THE NEXT, AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE SURFACE!
The INSTAHEAT Hob should only be used with the hob covers raised and turned off after each cooking cycle. It is not
designed to be left on with the lids down in the style of a traditional hob. If the hob is left on and the lid left down in
error the temperature will automatically be regulated by an automatic reset limiter and periodically isolated by a
back-up overheat thermostat to avoid any risk of overheating. The lid may still be hot under the circumstances.
WARNING: IF THE INSTAHEAT HOB IS LEFT ON CONSTANTLY, THE TOP PLATE AND LID CAN BECOME HOT.

4. Functionality
WARNING: WHILE IN USE, ACCESSIBLE PARTS MAY BECOME HOT. CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEEP AWAY FROM THE
APPLIANCE TO AVOID BURNS AND SCALDS.

Centralize the pre-assembled chassis onto the aperture and apply a layer of black high temperature silicone
(provided) to seal between chassis and top plate.
Fit the 5mm round section silicone cord into the bed of silicone and butt joint at the 12 o’clock position. Wipe any
excess residue with a damp cloth and dry.
Connect the element into the rear of the eControl box using the male plug provided. Earth onto the earthing post on
the rear of the eControl box.
TEST THE INSTAHEAT HOB AT THE POINT OF INSTALLATION BUT TO DO NOT LEAVE ON FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD
UNTIL A MINIMUM OF 8 HOURS CURING TIME IN RESPECT OF THE HIGH TEMPERTURE SILICONE SEALANT.
