Fetal Monitor Quick Reference Card

NOTE:
1 Make sure you have confirmed the fetal life by other means
before using this monitor for FHR monitoring, and always
confirm that the fetus is the signal source in the monitoring
process.
2 Set date and time information in advance. Do not change
date or time during monitoring.
Switching On
1 Connect the monitor toAC power supply using the power cord.
2 Press the power switch .
Basic Operation
1 Keys: Press the keys on the front panel directly.
2 Control Knob: Rotate the knob clockwise or anticlockwise to move
the cursor on the screen, and press the knob to confirm selection.
Setting Time
1 Select the setup key .
2 Select Date And Time.
3 Set the year, month, date, hour, minute and second from left to right.
4 Select a date format.
5 Select OK.
6 Restart the monitor.

Loading Paper
1Press the paper drawer latch flick to open the paper drawer cover.
2Take out the paper and check if it is the correct paper type.
3Guide the pack into the drawer underneath the retaining rod,
abutting it against the right edge. Make sure the blank side of the
paper faces you and the FHR printing area is on the left.
4Unfold a sheet from the top of the pack and pull its end out of the
drawer.
5Put the paper drawer cover down and press its end until it clicks
locked properly.
Tearing Off Paper
1 Press the PRINT key if the printer is running.
2 Pull up the end of the paper (fold the paper if it is very long), and
use moderate power to tear it off in an upward motion along the
paper-cutting edge.
Plugging and Unplugging Transducers
1 Plugging: Hold the transducer connector with fingers and plug it in
the corresponding socket, making sure the arrow symbol faces up.
2 Unplugging: Hold the transducer connector with fingers and then
pull it out gently.

FHR Monitoring - Externally
1 Plug in the US transducer, TOCO transducer and remote event
marker.
2 Apply a certain amount of acoustic gel on the US transducer and
move it slowly around the fetus site. Observe the fetal heart signal
quality indicator:
poor acceptable optimum
(Adjust the transducer site if the signal quality is poor)
3 Place the TOCO transducer about 3 cm above the patient’s fundus,
and press the AUTO ZERO key between contractions.
4 Hand the patient the remote marker and tell her to press the button
when a fetal movement is sensed.
5 Press the START key, and press the PRINT key if necessary.
Adjusting Fetal Heart Volume
1 Select the volume adjustment key .
2 Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the volume, or rotate it
anticlockwise to decrease the volume.
3 Press the knob again to confirm the selection.
Inputting Patient Information
1 Select the patient ID area next to the Mat. Info key .
2 Select ID and choose the required number on the soft keyboard,
select Enter to confirm selection.

3 Select Name and choose the required letter on the soft keyboard,
select Enter to confirm selection.
4 Select OK.
Changing Screen Display Mode
The monitor has three display modes: trace-numeric mode, trace
mode and numeric mode. Select the display mode switch to
switch among the three modes.
Audible Alarm
When an alarm is active, the monitor gives out a sound.
Medium level alarm: a “Do” tone is repeated three times, and then
pauses for 4 seconds.
Low level alarm: a “Do” tone is issued, and then pauses for 20
seconds.
Switching off Audible Alarm
Press the SILENCE key to switch off the audible alarm. The silence
duration is adjustable.
If it is switched off temporarily, the pause symbol
and remaining time are shown.
If it is switched off infinitely, the flashing silence
symbol is shown.
Press the SILENCE key again to switch on the audible alarm.

Visible Alarm
The monitor gives visible alarm at the same time as the audible alarm.
Medium level alarm: The alarm indicator flashes in orange.
Low level alarm: The alarm indicator lights up in orange.
The screen displays alarm message, e.g.:
Reviewing Alarm Messages
Select the alarm reviewing key to open the window and review
the alarm messages and the time when they were active.
Searching for a Monitoring Record
Select the searching key to open the record list. Move the
cursor to the required monitoring record and press the control knob.
This monitoring record is loaded to the main interface.
Reviewing Traces
Select the backward reviewing key or forward reviewing key
, and the traces advance backward or forward. Press the control
knob to pause, and then you can print the traces. Move the cursor
away from the reviewing and searching keys to return to the real-time
main interface.
Completing Monitoring
1 Press the PRINT key to stop the printer, and tear off the paper.
2 Remove transducers from the patient; wipe the remaining gel off
the patient and the transducer with a clean soft cloth or tissue.

Exporting Files
1 Plug the USB disk into the USB socket of the monitor.
2 Select the file managing key to open the File Management
interface.
3 Select the required item and then select Export, or select Export
All, to export the record(s) to the FetusData folder of the USB
disk.
4 Select Remove Disk on the File Management interface.
5 Unplug the USB disk.
Switching Off
1 Press and hold the POWER switch for at least 1 second.
2 Remove the power cord.
Changing Settings
To change the settings, you should rotate and press the control knob
on the related items in sequence:
1) Adjusting Alarm Volume
> Alarm > Alarm Volume > select > OK
2) Changing Alarm Silence Duration
> Alarm > Silence Duration > select > OK
3) Changing Alarm Message Form
> Alarm > Message Form > select > OK
4) Switching On / Off FHR Alarm
>Alarm > FHR > Alarm > select > OK > OK
