following safety instructions could result in serious injury or death.
GENERAL INFORMATION
◾Read, understand, and follow instructions and warnings in this manual and on the machine and attachments.
◾Only allow persons who are responsible, trained, familiar with the instructions, and physically capable to operate the
machine.
◾Do not carry passengers and keep bystanders away.
◾Do not operate the machine while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
◾Follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for wheel weights or counterweights.
PREPARATION BEFORE OPERATING
◾Clear the operating area of any objects which could be thrown by or interfere with operation of the machine.
◾Keep the area of operation clear of all bystanders, particularly small children. Stop the machine and attachment(s) if
anyone enters the area.
◾Do not operate the machine without the entire grass catcher, discharge chute, or other safety devices in place and
functioning properly. Check frequently for signs of wear or deterioration and replace as needed.
◾Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and footwear.
OPERATION
◾Only operate the machine in daylight or good artificial light.
◾Avoid holes, ruts, bumps, rocks, or other hidden hazards. Uneven terrain could overturn the machine, or cause
operator to lose their balance or footing.
◾Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts or under the machine. Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.
◾Do not direct discharge material toward anyone. Avoid discharging material against a wall or obstruction. Material
may ricochet back toward the operator. Stop the blade(s) when crossing gravel surfaces.
◾Do not leave a running machine unattended. Always park on level ground, disengage the attachment, set parking
brake, and stop the motor.
◾Do not mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary. Always look down and behind before and while backing.
◾Avoid mowing wet grass. Mowing on wet surfaces can cause loss of control and the wheels to sink into the soft
lawn.

1756-VOLT LITHIUM-ION ELECTRIC LAWN TRACTOR — TR4200/TR4200-FC
EGO Connect App and Firmware
Unlike the gas-powered tractors, your EGO electric lawn tractor uses a state-of-the-art on-board computer to monitor
every element of the machine and make sure that the tractor is running smoothly. EGO engineers periodically release
updates to tractor’s Firmware – an operating system running the on-board computer. In a lot of cases the performance
of a certain element of the tractor can be improved by changing the code in the firmware without replacing the physical
parts or having to visit a service station.
To assure that your tractor is in top shape, install the EGO Connect app on your smartphone or tablet and periodically
check for available firmware updates. EGO Connect app can be downloaded for free from Apple App Store or Google Play.
For information on how to pair your tractor with your smartphone or tablet, please refer to chapter “USING EGO CONNECT
APP WITH YOUR TRACTOR”.
Slope Assist
This feature helps the operator to safely start and drive the tractor on a slope.
◾When the tractor stops driving on a slope, the accelerator pedal is released, and the operator is off the seat without
setting the parking-brake pedal at the parking-brake position. The tractor will automatically stop on the slope using
the battery charge to power the electric brake, meanwhile the audio indicator will emit intermittent beeps. The audio
indicator will no longer sound as soon as the parking-brake pedal is set in parking-brake position.
WARNING: Always set the parking-brake pedal at parking-brake position when the tractor stops driving on
a slope, otherwise, the tractor may slide down the slope, which may cause serious tractor damage or personal
injury!
◾When restarting driving on a slope, disengage the parking-brake pedal and depress the accelerator pedal
immediately. Otherwise, when the parking-brake pedal is released but the accelerator pedal is not depressed, the
tractor may slide down the slope and the audio indicator will not beep.
Limp-Home Mode
When battery charge becomes critically low, the tractor will go into Limp-Home mode to preserve enough power to travel
back to the charging area.
◾The blades switch into low rotation speed, which could only cut very little amount of grass. Upon encountering tall
and dense grass, the blades will stop rotating. The audio indicator will sound (beep) intermittently.
◾The tractor status indicator will flash red every second, both the alert icon (low-power) and the icon of each occupied
battery compartment will blink.
The operator should:
◾Push the PTO switch downward to turn off the blade motors. The audio indicator will stop sounding when the blade
motors stop.
◾Stop working and get to the charging area as soon as possible. The maximum distance the tractor can travel is
0.6 mile (0.96 km).
When the battery is nearly depleted, both the alert icon (low-power) and the icon of each occupied battery compartment
will blink every half a second. The tractor will stop working immediately. The operator will have to transport the tractor to
the charging area for charging.
NOTICE: If manual pushing is needed, be sure that the batteries are disconnected from the tractor and the parking-brake
pedal is released from the parking-brake position.

The tractor is equipped with a safety start interlock system consisting of the safety key, start/stop button, the parking-
brake pedal, direction control lever, accelerator pedal, seat switch, and charging-port.
The safety start interlock system is designed to protect the operator and others from accidental injury due to unintentional
tractor starting.
WARNING: Check the tractor safety start interlock system prior to operation. This system is an important tractor
safety feature. It should be repaired immediately if it malfunctions: call EGO customer service center immediately.
WARNING: The safety start interlock system must not be disconnected or bypassed. Doing so could cause the tractor
to operate unexpectedly, resulting in personal injury.
Audio Indicator (Beeps)

will sound six times.
◾When the available battery charge is critically low, the tractor will go into Limp-Home mode, the beeps will continue
to sound intermittently until the PTO switch is pressed downward.

◾When any faults are displayed on the LCD screen, the beep will sound once.
◾If the tractor stops driving on a slope and the operator is off the seat without setting the parking brake, the beeps will
