With your purchase of the EINSTEIN mono amplifiers The Silver Bullet MKII,
you own an audio component of the highest mechanical and electrical
qualities. In order to fully appreciate the great benefits of this unit, we
kindly ask you to carefully read these instructions and manual.
The Silver Bullet MKII is a two chassis mono-block stereo amplifier of the
highest quality, which emphasizes relevant features over unnecessary
gimmicks. Some of these features are:

The EINSTEIN The Silver Bullet MKII amplifier is not a component, which
sounds nice, soft or bright. Our goal is to integrate a component into your
existing system, which minimizes its impact on the musical signal. The
mono-blocks transfer the signal directly to the loudspeakers. No world-
class loudspeaker could ever correct for the amplifier’s deficiencies; quite
the contrary, good loudspeakers will always tell you the quality of your
amplifier. Incorporating The Silver Bullet MKII as a component of the high-
est qualities into your system was therefore the right choice.

1. Safety information and precautions:
Do not manipulate the component in any way (loss of warranty, danger of elec-
tric shock)
For electrical safety reasons never operate the amplifiers without their top cover
The amplifiers must be protected from moisture
Never disconnect the protective conductor
Exchange the safety fuse only with one of the same value
Please contact your dealer / distributor or EINSTEIN directly prior to changing the
tubes

3. Technical information
The Silver Bullet MKII is an OTL amplifier based on innovative and new design
concepts. Up until now, the benefits of an OTL based amplifier have never been
fully realized in the world of high performance audio. The technical specification
and remarkable sound qualities are a definite testament to that accomplish-
ment. The Silver Bullet represents a true milestone in the development of tube
amplifiers for audio applications.
4. Placement
When selecting a placement for your amplifiers, please consider proper ventila-
tion of the units as well as a solid platform for the units to be placed on. The Silver
Bullet MKII should never be placed on top of other components nor should other
components be placed on top of it. Due to the massive transformers you should
not place a turntable or phono amplifier next The Silver Bullet MKII amplifier.
Separately available equipment racks can positively affect the sound quality of
your new amplifier.
5. Power
The Power supply socket is located on the left side at the back of the unit. This
socket also includes the fuse and one spare. Please make sure that the unit is
powered off and not connected to the power outlet prior to exchanging the
fuse. 230V are at the safety clip, EXTREME SHOCK HAZARD!
6. Connecting your amplifier
Please make sure that all connections to your pre-amplifier and loudspeakers
have been made prior to turning the amplifiers on. Should you notice any hum, it
may be necessary to connect a ground cable between the amplifier and pre-
amplifier.

Interconnects and cables
You may use any high quality interconnects fitted with balanced XLR style con-
nectors. Please make sure that the connectors are not oxidized and make a
solid and tight connection to the amplifiers. We recommend the use of our own
XLR cables EINSTEIN The Flash, as they are optimized to work best with our
EINSTEIN components. Since The Silver Bullet MKII amplifier is a fully balanced de-
sign, it is critical that you only supply a fully balanced signal at the input. You
may only use a fully balanced pre-amplifier and of course our very own EINSTEIN
ThePreamp preamplifier receives the highest recommendation
Loudspeaker cables
Only use high quality loudspeaker cables with properly terminated ends. Make
sure that the terminations are free from oxidation and that the cable’s cross sec-
tion is wide enough. Using loudspeaker cables that are too thin minimizes the
power transfer from our amplifier and results in a lower damping factor critical to
properly control your loudspeakers. Our EINSTEIN The Thunder loudspeaker cable
meets all requirements to the highest standards and provides an exceptional
performance.
7. Power switch
To turn on or off the power of The Silver Bullet MKII, please use the switch on the
back panel of the chassis next to the mains input. Three blue LED’s and lighting
of the tubes indicate the status of the amplifier. TheSilver Bullet MKII is ready to
play after approximately 5 minutes when both outside LED’s are switched off. If
there is a problem with the amplifier, either both or one or the other LED will re-
main lit, at which point you should turn the amplifier off and contact your dealer
/ distributor or EINSTEIN directly. The unit will achieve its optimal sound and oper-
ating temperature after approximately half an hour. It is recommended that you
don’t tax the amplifiers unnecessarily during this warm up phase as it may result
in lower tube life.
8. Connections at the rear of the unit
The rear end of the amplifier contains the speaker connectors (red –right chan-
nel; white –left channel) and balanced inputs as well as the mains input with the
on/off switch.
9. Safety fuse
A blown fuse indicates a fault in your amplifier or mains power. Should your unit
not power on after you have replaced the blown fuse please contact your
dealer / distributor or EINSTEIN immediately. The fuse is of following value: 6.3A
slow-blow for 230-240V version and 10A slow-blow for 100V or 115- 125V version.
Prior to replacing the fuse, you must disconnect the amplifier from the power line
due to shock hazard. Please make sure that the power cord is disconnected
from the power outlet(s). The fuses are located right next to the power input on
the rear of the unit.
10. Service
If you encounter any problems with your pre-amplifier please contact your local
dealer / distributor or EINSTEIN directly.

11. Tubes
The EINSTEIN The Silver Bullet MKII uses 6C33 type tubes, which have a lifecycle of
approximately 2000 hours and PCC88 (min 3000 hours). Please note that the am-
plifiers are carefully adjusted to the tubes mounted. Therefore you must not in-
terechange the tubes or exchange them! If you interchange or exchange tubes
the amplifier must be adjusted to the new tubes or the new order of tubes. This
can only be done by an experienced professional.
12. Maintenance & care of your amplifier
Cleaning of all chrome and stainless steel surfaces should only be done with a
damp cloth and a small amount of Windex or similar window cleaner.
13. Tips to improve and tweak the sound quality
You can improve sound quality of the unit by paying attention to these points
Make sure you have proper phase
Use only high quality preferably low impedance interconnects
Connecting the amplifiers to a power conditioner
Use a high quality rack and support
Make sure you have proper ground in your system
14. Warranty
Your EINSTEIN The Silver Bullet MKII amplifier comes with a 3-year warranty (tubes
6 months). For detailed warranty conditions please contact your dealer or the
