Einstein The Flash User manual

- 2 -
Dear EINSTEIN customer!
With the EINSTEIN The Flash interconnect cable, you have acquired that
rarest of Hifi cables –one that conforms to the most stringent standards. To
get the most from it, please take a few leisurely moments and peruse the
following instructions.
The Flash is a cable that deliberately eschews frilly features to focus in-
stead on the core essentials:
Realistic reproduction with the utmost fidelity
Rock-solid reliability for years of worry-free service
Extended market value to protect your investment
The EINSTEIN The Flash does not sound beautiful, soft or energetic. Our
goal is to design devices that integrate into existing systems with the abso-
lute minimum of signal degradation or “artistic license“. A cable’s job is
simple (though by no means easy): pass the signal from the source to the
amplifier. Even the “world’s best“ Hifi system cannot correct for losses or er-
rors incurred by the cable. Quite the contrary. A superior system will ruth-
lessly reveal any shortcomings in the cable. Hence your decision to incor-
porate the EINSTEIN The Flash into your system was a truly informed one.
Congratulations.
We extend our regards from Bochum and wish you much musical satisfac-
tion from your new EINSTEIN The Flash.

Before you start to connect the EINSTEIN The Flash interconnect cable to your High End sys-
tem please read the set up instruction carefully to achieve the best possible sound with
your new High End Interconnect cable.
If you feel too stressed to do the set up yourself, please ask your dealer for a professional
EINSTEIN system cleaning and cable set up - it`s definitely worth the money and effort.
1. Package content

2. IMPORTANT! Unpacking your cable
Please allow your cable some time (app. 3-4 hours) to achieve room temperature before
taking out of the box. The delicate materials used for this cable will sound much better if
treated carefully. It is most important that when you unpack the cable that you treat it
carefully. The structure of this cable is as delicate as the material –the solid core wires are
made of hair thin pure copper and pure silver. Bending it might cause damage to the
structure and therefore to the musical performance.
The better you treat your cable the better will be its performance.
3. Cleaning
To get the purest and best possible contact of the cable plugs to the equipment sockets it
helps to keep the plugs and sockets clean. The plugs of The Flash have been cleaned and
coated with a protection liquid before leaving our company. There is no need to clean
the plugs now.
4. Cable Set Up
Please pull the protection bags off the plugs. To avoid damaging the protection coating
of the plugs we recommend putting the provided cotton gloves on. Then connect The
Flash to your system as required taking care not to bend the cable more than necessary.
Please use the provided distance holders to make sure that there is no contact between
the cables for right and left channel. There should be no contact to any other cable of
your system if possible. Please note that it is most important that The Flash (as any other in-
terconnect-cable) does not have any contact to the mains cables in your system. If you
need more EINSTEIN distance holders than provided, please, contact your dealer.
Before switching on the system we recommend to double check that all plugs are perfect-
ly tight in the sockets.
5. Running In Time
Like any other component The Flash will improve during the first period of use. There is no
need for a special running in record or CD. While listening to music you will realize how
your cable will increase in sound quality.
If you prefer to ‘burn in’ the cable Music with a high dynamic range will serve best. For this
purpose we suggest a running in period at room temperature of 12 hours minimum, but
you will notice that the sound will still be increasing after this time.

6. Protection
After a perfect set up (a good dealer will give you all support necessary) we recommend
not touching the cable anymore. Please note that you have to set up the cable again, if
the materials of the cable are stressed too hard by bending or shaking.
Once in a while you should clean all plugs and sockets to maintain the best sound. In
countries with a higher humidity, you should do that more often, about two to three times
a year. This is definitely worth the effort you will be surprised what this will do to the sound
after some time.
7. Sound Support
Additional advise –check points
Cable set up as described above
Cleaning - don`t forget to clean the mains plugs and sockets too.
Cleaning fuses and fuse holders –this is more important and will have more effect than
using any high end fuse! Please take care that the fuse holders have tight contact to
the fuses.
Room temperature shouldn`t change from very cold to very warm
Some places have heavy duty electrical power cables installed in their concrete, which
will cause an electrical field. Here it`s important to place all signal cables with some dis-
tance to the floor.
Please make sure that all contacts are clean and tight (loose contacts will kill your
sound)
Star earthing - this can be very important –please contact your dealer or distributor
they have authorized staff to do this properly.
