IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using this appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the
following:
1. Read all instructions before using.
2. Never immerse the toaster in water or any other liquids.
3. Do not operate the toaster with damaged power cord or plug, after the toaster
malfunction, or if it is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the toaster to the
nearest authorized dealer or after-sales service center for examination, repair, electrical
or mechanical adjustment.
4. Do not let the power cord hang over edge of table or counter or hot surface.
5. To disconnect the plug from wall outlet, grasp the plug and not the cord.
6. Do not leave the toaster unattended while it is operating.
7. Always use the toaster on a flat, stable and heat resistant surface.
8. While operating the toaster, do not touch the product body.
9. Note: Oversize food, metal foil packages or utensils must not be inserted into the
toaster as they may cause fire, burnt or electric shock.
10. The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible
material, such as curtains.
11. Never use any accessories or parts from other manufacturers or that ELBA does not
specifically recommended.
12. Do not attempt to dislodge food when toaster is in operation.
13. Do not use the toaster without its crumb tray in place. The crumb tray should be cleaned
regularly.
14. Be careful when removing the bread from the toaster to avoid injuries.
15. This toaster is not intended for used by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
16. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the toaster.
17. Unplug the plug from wall outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts,
and before cleaning.
18. Use this toaster for its intended use only.
19. This product has been designed for domestic and household use only. Any commercial
use, inappropriate use or failure to comply with the instructions, the manufacturer
accepts no responsibility and the warranty will not apply.
20. Save these instructions for future reference.
21. Do not touch the heating element right after usage as it might be very hot at the surface.
22. Any misuse or application without following the instructions in this user manual may
cause electric shock or other hazards.
23. Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate
remote-control system.

Caution:
1. If the appliance starts to smoke, press the “Cancel” button to stop toasting immediately.
2. Remove all protective wrapping of the bread before placing into the bread slot.
3. Avoid toasting the bread with any ingredients or foodstuff such as butter, sugar, etc.
4. Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the bread slot without unplugging the
toaster from the electrical outlet first. Be sure not to damage the internal mechanism or
heating elements when removing the bread.
5. This toaster is only applicable for toasting regular bread slice.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE
As there is residue or oil remained in the toaster or heating element, it usually will emit the
odor for the first use. It is normal and will not occur after several times of usage. For the first
use it is suggested to operate according to following steps, without the bread. Then let the
toaster to cool down before toasting the first slice.
OPERATING THE APPLIANCE
1. Place the toaster on a flat, stable and heat resistant surface.
2. Connect the plug to the wall outlet and power on the toaster.
3. Insert two slices of bread into the bread slots.
4. Set the level of browning for the bread by adjusting the control knob according to your
desired taste. There are 7 levels; the lowest brownish is at “1”. The position “3” can toast
the bread to golden color. Respectively, position “7” delivers the darkest color result. It is
always advisable to start the toasting at lowest level first and then adjust accordingly.
Note: Darker browning may be observed on single bread toasting than that of double
bread at the same level.
5. Press down the carriage handle. Once the bread has been toasted to the preset level, the
carriage handle will bounce up automatically.
Note: The toasting process can be terminated at any time by pressing the “Cancel”
button.
6. If the toaster is not plugged, the carriage handle will not lock in place.
TOASTING FROZEN BREAD
To toast frozen bread, defrost the bread first by pressing the “Defrost” button and set the
desired browning level by adjusting the control knob. Under this mode the bread will be
toasted to the preset level.
REHEATING TOASTED BREAD
To reheat the cold toasted bread, press the “Reheat” button. Under this mode the toasting
time is fixed. When the time is up, the carriage handle will automatically bounce up to end
the reheating process.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Power off the appliance. Disconnect the plug from the wall outlet.
2. Wipe the product body with soft dry cloth after the product body has cooled down.
Never use metal polish.
3. Pull out crumb tray at the bottom of the toaster and empty it. If toaster is used
frequently, accumulated bread crumbs should be removed at least once a week. Make
sure the crumb tray is completely inserted back to the toaster before using it again.
4. When the appliance is not in use or for storage, the power cord can be wound under the
bottom of toaster.
5. Do not immerse the appliance, cord, plug, or any parts of the toaster in water or any
other liquids.
