1. PLACEMENT
1. Place the detector as close as possible to the center of the ceiling. If not possible, mount no closer
than 10cm (0.33t) from a wall or corner. Also, if local codes allow, install the detectors on walls,
between 10 and 30cm (0.33 and 0.98t) from ceiling/wall intersecions.
2. Install a minimum of two units in every house, no mater how small the house is.
3. Place a detector in each room that is divided by a parial wall.
For best protecion we recommend that you install a detector in every room.
DO NOT place EWF1/EWF1CO in the following locaions:
• Near appliances or areas where normal combusion regularly occurs (kitchens, near furnaces,
hot water heaters). Use specialized detector with unwanted alarm control for this areas.
• In areas with high humidity, like bathrooms or areas near dishwashers or washing machines.
Install at least 3m (9.84t) away from these areas.
• Near air returns or heaing and cooling supply vents. Install at least 1m (3.28t) away from these
areas. The air could blow smoke away from the detector, interruping the alarm.
• In rooms where temperatures may fall below +5°C (+41°F) or rise above +45°C (+113°F).
• In extremely dusty, dirty, or insect-infested areas where loose paricles interfere with the detec-
tor operaion.
Incorrect placement will result in the decrease of operaional efeciveness.

2. WHAT SHOULD I KNOW
2.1 CARBON MONOXIDE CO POISONING
Carbon monoxide is a product of incomplete combusion of organic mater. It is a toxic
gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and iniially non-irritaing, it is very dii-
cult for people to detect.
CONCENTRATION SYMPTOMS
35 ppm (0.0035%) Headache and dizziness within six to eight hours of
constant exposure
100 ppm (0.01%) Slight headache in two to three hours
200 ppm (0.02%) Slight headache within two to three hours; loss of
judgment
400 ppm (0.04%) Frontal headache within one to two hours
800 ppm (0.08%) Dizziness, nausea, and convulsions within 45 min; insen-
sible within 2 hours
1,600 ppm (0.16%) Headache, increased heart rate, dizziness, and nausea
within 20 min; death in less than 2 hours
ppm - Parts Per Million - is used to describe concentraions of contaminants in air.
In the event of ALARM caused by a criical CO concentraion level, keep calm and
carry out the following acions in the priority order:
• Open all windows and doors to increase the rate of venilaion.
• Turn of the appliances and stop using them where possible.
• Evacuate the building leaving the windows and doors open. You may re-enter the
property only when the alarm has stopped.
• Get immediate medical assistance for anyone sufering the efects of carbon mon-
oxide poisoning (nausea, headache), and report that carbon monoxide inhalaion is
suspected. Contact the gas or other fuel supplier on their emergency phone number
in order to idenify and eliminate the source of carbon monoxide emissions.

10
EWF1-EWF1COEN
• Do not use the appliance again unil it has been veriied and conirmed by a compe-
tent person according to naional regulaions.
There could be other sources of carbon monoxide emissions. For example, large
amount of city gas, tobacco smoke or smoldering ire can cause CO concentra-
ion ALARM.
2.2 CO ALARM/RESTORE AND FAULT INDICATIONS
• Fresh air level - when CO concentraion is 0-29ppm. This level causes no alarm when reached
as well as it results in zone restore event when one of the criical levels has been reached and
decreased to 0-29ppm aterwards. The zone restore event is indicated by SMS text message
delivered to the listed user phone number and data message delivered to the monitoring staion
followed by silenced sirens. Also, data message noifying about CO gas fault is delivered to EL-
DES Cloud Services and added to the Event Log.
• CO criical level 1 – when CO concentraion of 30-49ppm remains for more than 120 minutes.
Indicated by fault indicaion displayed by EKB2 LCD keypad (only for ESIM364) and a warning
delivery to the listed user by SMS text message. This level causes no zone alarm when reached
as well as it results in zone restore event in case the CO concentraion of 300ppm or more (crit-
ical level 4) has been reached and decreased to 30-49ppm aterwards. Also, data messages
noifying about CO criical level 1 and gas fault detecion are delivered to ELDES Cloud Services
and added to both Event Log and Fault Log respecively.
• CO criical level 2 – when CO concentraion of 50-99ppm remains for more than 60 minutes.
Indicated by a 2-second beep every 5 seconds, LED indicator lash, fault indicaion displayed
by EKB2 LCD keypad (only for ESIM364) and a warning delivered to the listed user by SMS text
message. This level causes no zone alarm when reached. Also, data messages noifying about
CO criical level 2 and gas fault detecion are delivered to ELDES Cloud Services and added to
both Event Log and Fault Log respecively.
• CO criical level 3 – when CO concentraion of 100-299ppm remains for more than 10 minutes.
Indicated by a 2-second beep every 5 seconds, LED indicator lash and fault indicaion displayed

11

by EKB2 LCD keypad (only for ESIM364) and a warning delivered to the listed user by SMS text
message. This level causes no zone alarm when reached. Also, data messages noifying about
CO criical level 3 and gas fault detecion are delivered to ELDES Cloud Services and added to
both Event Log and Fault Log respecively.
• CO criical level 4 – when CO concentraion of 300ppm and more is reached. This level will
cause an alarm when reached resuling in the unit emiing a 2-second beep every 5 seconds
and LED indicator lash. Meanwhile the system will noify the listed user by SMS text message
and the monitoring staion as well as all wired and wireless sirens will emit a pulsaing sound
based on the Fire-type zone operaional descripion and acivate the interconnecion feature (by
default - enabled; see 4.2. Interconnecion). All wired and wireless sirens can be silenced by
disarming the system. However, EWF1CO built-in siren will remain acive unil the TEST WEEK-
LY buton has been pressed. Also, data messages noifying about CO criical level 4 and gas fault
detecion are delivered to ELDES Cloud Services and added to both Event Log and Fault Log
respecively.
• CO unit fault – when CO sensor’s 7-year lifeime period has ended or in case of any technical
issue that has occurred. Indicated by a fault indicaion displayed by EKB2 LCD keypad (only for
ESIM364) and noiicaion delivery to the listed user via SMS text message and the monitoring
staion. Please contact your local supplier for repair service.
2.3 CLEANING AND PRECAUTIONS DURING USE
Clean the detector at least once a month to remove dust, dirt, or debris. Using the sot brush or
wand atachment of a vacuum cleaner, vacuum all sides and cover of the detector. Be sure all the
vents are free of debris. If necessary, use a damp cloth to clean the detector cover.
Some household substances can afect the sensiivity of the detectors in a short or long term. Avoid
the use of model paint, model glue or nail polish remover close to the detector. Do not use aerosol
sprays, household cleaners, polishes or perfumes close to the device.
Do not atempt to remove the cover to clean inside the detector. This will void your warranty.

5. EWF1/EWF1CO ZONE AND TAMPER
Upon successful device pairing process, the system adds wireless zone (-s) as follows:
• EWF1 - 1 Fire-type zone intended for smouldering ire/smoke detecion.
• EWF1CO - 1 Fire-type and 1 CO-type zone intended for smouldering ire/smoke detecion and
carbon monoxide detecion respecively.
In case of tamper violaion, the alarm is caused regardless of system being armed or disarmed.
There are 2 ways to detect tamper violaion on EWF1/EWF1CO:

15
EWF1-EWF1CO EN
• By tamper switch. EWF1/EWF1CO comes equipped with a built-in tamper switch intended for
enclosure supervision: The tamper switch is located on the back of the PCB supervising the
back side of the enclosure in case the device is illegally detached.
Once the enclosure of EWF1/EWF1CO is tampered with, the tamper switch will become trig-
gered. This acion will be followed by an alarm, resuling in sending an SMS text message and/
or phone call to the user. The SMS text message contains the violated tamper name. Also, this
event is added to the Event Log, meanwhile data messages noifying about triggered tamper
are delivered to the Monitoring Staion and ELDES Cloud Services respecively.
• Wireless connecion loss. The wireless connecion loss between EWF1/EWF1CO and ELDES
alarm system leads to alarm. The system ideniies this event as a tamper violaion and sends
alarm by SMS text message and phone call to the user (-s) by default. The SMS text message
contains the wireless device model, wireless ID code and tamper name. The user will also be
noiied by SMS text message as soon as the wireless signal is restored. Also, this event is added
to the Event Log, meanwhile data messages noifying about wireless connecion loss will be
delivered to the Monitoring Staion and ELDES Cloud Services respecively.
The tamper will not operate if the wireless zone (-s) is disabled.
6. TEMPERATURE SENSOR
The device comes equipped with a built-in temperature sensor allowing to monitor the temperature
of the area surrounding EWF1/EWF1CO device. When using the with EPIR3 alarm system, you may
set the MIN and MAX temperature thresholds ranging from +5°C to +45°C resuling in SMS text mes-
sage delivery to the listed user phone number once exceeded. The accuracy of temperature measure-
ment is +/-1°C. Also, this event is added to the Event Log, meanwhile data messages noifying about
exceeded temperature threshold are delivered to the Monitoring Staion and ELDES Cloud Services
respecively.
