1. COMPLIANCE WITH INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MANUAL
The purchaser/user is advised to comply with the instrucons and informaon in this manual and
ensure that all personnel to be associated with the apparatus under this contract are made familiar
with the informaon contained herein.
2. GUIDANCE NOTES FOR USERS ON THE SAFETY OF PERSONNEL
Every employer shall ensure that his employees are informed, trained and supervised and use a
safe system of work to ensure their safety. He is advised to comply with the informaon provided,
to maintain the plant in a safe condion. Electrically skilled personnel may have to gain access
to apparatus that is not completely isolated. The burden of responsibility, for the safety of such
personnel carrying out the work, rests on those under whose authority they act.
3. INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The purchaser/user is advised to ensure that each piece of apparatus supplied to the purchaser’s
order is correctly installed, in a suitable locaon, by technically qualied and competent persons
experienced in the class of work involved. The rules for ensuring the safety of personnel can be
summarised as follows:-
During normal use, ensure that plant operators:-
• are fully conversant with all controls, parcularly those for emergency shut down,
• comply with safety warning noces and keep all enclosures shut,
• are trained to recognise signs of mal-operaon and know what acon to take in the event of
trouble or diculty
During Maintenance, Tesng etc., ensure that only suitably skilled persons are permied to carry out
work and that they:
• comply with user’s safe system of work and safe working procedures,
• isolate the apparatus completely, where possible, before opening enclosures and starng work,
• are conversant with the informaon provided parcularly on measures relang to their safety,
• recognise the hazards which can arise when working on live apparatus and take all the necessary
precauons,
• comply with all local safety regulaons.

4. VOLTAGES GREATER THAN 50V A.C./120V D.C.
The purchaser/user is advised to ensure that apparatus operang on a voltage greater than 50V
a.c./120V d.c. is isolated and made safe before any work is carried out upon it.
5. APPARATUS SUPPLIED AS LOOSE ITEMS, CHASSIS ETC.
The purchaser/user responsible for installing such apparatus is advised that, when live, it could
constute a safety hazard and relevant safety procedures are necessary.
6. ACCESS TO THE APPARATUS DESCRIBED IN THIS MANUAL
It is the purchaser’s/user’s responsibility to ensure that all personnel obtaining access to the
apparatus are competent and work in accordance with the user’s safe system of work.

The Waggy LED high intensity runway guard light consists of two high intensity yellow LED arrays,
mounted side by side that ash alternately. Typically, runway guard lights are installed in pairs, one
on either side of a taxiway and are used to clearly idenfy taxiway hold posions to pilots.
The Waggy can be supplied in either in a 230/240V AC powered conguraon Order code: AL-026-
48-AM, or a 6.6Amp AGL series circuit Order code: AL-037-48-AM.
The 6.6Amp AGL version will operate with either 3 or 5 step CCRs (2.4-6.6Amp) and the light output
will vary with input current.
The 230/240V version can be supplied with an oponal photocell which will automacally switch the
runway guard light into night mode in low ambient light levels.

2. INSTALLATION
2.1 LOW PROFILE FRANGIBLE BRACKET
A level concrete base should be constructed as appropriate for the size of the runway guard light.
A mounng foot can then aached to the base using the appropriate bolts.

2.2 STANDARD 2” O.D. FRANGIBLE COUPLING AND
BASE PLATE

Once the foot has been secured in place, the runway guard light can be inserted and fastened into
place by ghtening the bolts on the foot or coupling. Care should be taken to ensure that the runway
guard light is upright and is aimed towards the centre of the taxiway as shown in gure below

The high intensity runway guard light can be adjusted between 0-20 degrees vercally by:
• remove the two locking screws located at either side of the mount
• set the vercal seng to the desired posion
• re-insets the two locking screws into the correct hole and ghten.

2.4 Electrical Installaon
2.4.1 Connecng to a 6.6Amp AGL circuit
The 6.6A Waggy LED high intensity runway guard light is supplied with a 300mm ying lead and a
factory ed L-823 connector.
The connector can be plugged directly into the secondary circuit of a 100W L-830 ground isolaon
transformer as shown in gure below.
CAUTION: The Waggy LED runway guard light can be supplied in either a 230/240V AC powered
conguraon, OR a 6.6Amp AGL conguraon. Please ensure that you connect the equipment to the
correct supply.

2.4.2 Connecng to a 230/240V AC supply
The 230/240V Waggy LED high intensity runway guard light is supplied with a 3-core (3 x 1.0mm2)
1m ying lead. The overall diameter of the cable is nominally 7.5mm.
Connect the free ends of the cable to the proper voltage source.

3. MAINTENANCE
