A Digitai ATSC HO/SO TV Tuner is a product that enables you to see a large variety of
cnannsts that are supplied by ATSC broadcast stations. This User manual explains everything
trom how to install the Receiver to the steps that need to be taken to improve various different
functions, This manual atso descrlbes In detail a series of functtons thal are only avallable in
this Receiver, so that you can use them properly. Please be sure to read this manual so thal Ihe
Receiver is installed and used correetly, and make sure lo keep it in a sale piace for future

7 Quick Installation
7.1 Connect
Connecl Ihe TV and ali the other equipmenl thal is connected to the box. Your receiver is
equipped with a signal strength indicalor lo facilitate the oplimum adjustment of the
anlenna.
Note: To allow antenna signal passing through lo your N, use a RF cable to connecl TV and Ihe
receiver as Ihe picture shows.

8.1.1 Simple Guide
Simple guide lists the following program's information of current channel.
8.2 Channel
Search for programs by Auto or Manual scan
8.2.1 Auto Scan
Auto Scan will erase the database flrst, and scan default frequency and bandwidth by
Country Setting.
8.2.2 ManualScan
Manual Scan doesn't erase the database but add the scanning results into il. user,
has to know the Frequency and Bandwidth for scanning.

8.2.2.1 Manual
In manual scan, user can define paramelers far smart antenna selup. There
are Ihree paramelers: direellon, gain, polarity.
• Direelion: 16 Direetlons are availabe.
• Gain: 4 Gain Values are available.
• Polarily: 2 Polaritles are available.
[Note] : "Quick" in smart antenna setup is the default setting and Is recommended
far most users; Manualiy ìnput parameters far smart antenna is only
reeommended far advanced users or professional installers. You can refer

8.3.2 Syslem Setting
8.3.2.1 OSO Language
This oplion allows Ihe user lo set !he preferred user ìnterface lUI) display
including English. Spanish. French.
8.3.2.2 Audio Setting
8.3.2.2.1 Audio Language
Selecl your preferred language, including English, Spanish and
French.
8.3.2.2.2 Audio Channel
Selecl the format of audio channel output, incluidng UR, Left, Right
or Mixed.
8.3.2.2.3 SPOIF
SPDIF specifies a Data Link Layer protocol and choice of Physical
Layer specifications for carrying digitai audio signals between
devices and stereo components. User can change the audio oulput
among OFF, PCM or AC3.
8.3.2.3 TV Source
Selecl either ATSC or Cable source.
8.3.2.4 Auto Sleep
Offer six selectìons of setling sleep time including OFF, 15min. 30min, 1hr,2hr
and 4hr. The default is 4hr.

Set suitable range of program level for children.

8.3.3.4 Change Password

8.3.4 Close Caption
The Closed Caption [CC) is a data servìee which usually carri es the spoken dialog in
the current watching servìce in text format and which is usually in sync with the
delivered audio. However, it is not necessary to always carry the dialog information in
CC. The CC has two differenl fonmats.
8.3.4.1 Caplion Type
• Analog mode (NTSC-CC)
Analog closed caplions are caplions formatled and presented in the
current analog television syslem. Types of analog closed captton are
TT1, TT2. TT3. TT4, CCt, CC2. CC3 and CC4 .
• Digitai mode (ATSC-CC)
The display of captioning information can be customìzeo to user needs.
The customization features ane only functional in digitai closed capuon.
Types of Digitai closed captìon are Service1, Service2, Service3,
Service4, Service5, Service6.

8.5 Extra feature on the Remote
• There are 51eaming (unclions including TV PWR. VOL+.VOL-.CH+ and CH-.
• Siep to Configure!he"TV VOL+.VOL-,CH+ and CH-" key on your remote contraI.
• Purpose: The learning key can be used to conlrol your TV through the learning procedure. Below
steps provide the steps:
1. Put your TV remote contrai and the STB remote contrai on firm and stable surface (for example.
!he living room table)
2. Aim !WO remote controls head to head as shown below. Keep 2-3 Inches distance in between.

3. On the STB remote, press and hold the "SE, key (or at least 3 seconds !iiI LED flash then
release it.
4. On the STB remote. press TV PWR button once.
As LED lights • !he STB remote contrai enters !he "Ieaming" mode.
5. On the TV remote, press also TV PWR button once.
As LED flashes , it stands lor learning procedure successlully.
6. Ilyou intend to leam the other lunctions, i.e. VOL+,VOL-,CH+ and CH-. Please start from step 4

Il you complete learning step, press SET button on the STB remote to quit learning mode.
7. Try to operate TV set by using the learnlng buttons on the STB remote as lollows.
a. Far Power on-olf, push TV PWR blue button.
b. Far Volume Up-and-Down, use leaming buttons. Vol+ and Vol-.
Val- lor lowering volume and Vol+ lor increasing volume.
C. Far Channel Up-and-Down, use learnlng buttons, CH+ and CH-.
CH+ far increasing Channels CH- lor decreasing Channels.
8. Il your TV set has no respanse , please start tram step 1 again and slighUy increase or decrease
the distance be!ween !WO remote.
Note:
• During leaming mode. the STB rem~te is waiting to receive remote command from outside. Il no
other remote command is given to !he remote far 15 seconds or any one key ìs pressed, !he
remote will exit the learning mode.
• Some TV remote contrai may be so complex as to your leaming invalldly.
• This lunction supporta aver 80% TV remote controls on the market.
