USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Setting the Temperature
1. Stand the iron on its end.
2. Ensure that the iron is turned to ‘Min’ and
insert the mains plug into the wall socket.
3. Set the temperature control to the correct
ironing temperature.
4. You may start ironing after the
temperature light has turned o and then
back on again.
5. The temperature light will come on from
time to time during ironing to indicate
that it is maintaining your selected
temperature.
6. If you set the temperature control to
a lower setting after ironing at a high
temperature, please allow time for the iron
to cool. This is to prevent scorching on
your garment.
7. Turn the thermostat dial to the position
you require according to the following
markings:
● Synthetics/silk (low temperature
●● Silk wool (medium temperature)
●●● Linen/cotton (high temperature)
Dry Ironing
1. Sort the clothing to be ironed according to
the ironing instructions on their attached
labels and tags. The iron will heat much
quicker than it cools so it is best to start
by ironing clothes which require a lower
ironing temperature (synthetic, fabric
and silk), and then to move on to clothes
made of other materials requiring higher
temperature. (wool, cotton and jute, etc.)
2. Place the iron vertically and set the
temperature dial at ‘min’.
3. Insert the plug into the socket, and then
turn the temperature dial to temperature
point corresponding to the clothes
material. You can begin ironing when the
indicator lamp turns o as the required
temperature has been reached.
4. Avoid ironing over zippers/rivets on jeans
etc. These can scratch the soleplate.
Cleaning and care
After ironing
1. Turn the temperature dial to ‘min’ and
disconnect the iron from the power supply.
2. Reconnect the power supply and
disconnect after indicator light goes o, this
dries the soleplate.
3. Let the iron completely cool down, and
then wipe akes and any other deposits on
the soleplate with a damp cloth or a non-
abrasive (liquid) cleaner. Clean the upper
part of iron with a damp cloth. Always store
the iron horizontally on a stable surface with
a cloth protecting the soleplate.
4. When not in use, store the appliance in a
safe, dry place, out of reach of children.
WARNING:
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY ELECTRICAL PART
OF THE APPLIANCE IN WATER SUCH AS
MOTOR UNITS OR PLUGS.
