ELK-319HRR135 Heat & Rate of Rise Sensor
Description
The ELK-319HRR135 is a Supervised, Wireless Heat Sensor.
It uses a solid-state thermistor to sample and trigger an event at
135 degrees F. It can also trigger an event if the temperature
rises 12 degrees F or more during a one (1) minute time period.
When an event is triggered the sensor transmits an alarm (trip)
signal to the panel. Additionally transmitted signals include:
tamper, hourly supervisory, and low battery (as needed). The
sensor is powered by a single 3V lithium battery which can
provide up to 10 years of life.
This sensor is compatible with Elk’s 319MHz Receivers/Panels
as well as many other panels that operate on the 319.5MHz
Frequency and adhere to the ITI/Interlogix protocol.

Programming (Enrollment)
The following is a general guideline for programming (enrolling)
a sensor into the receiver or panel. For more extensive
instructions please refer to the receiver or panel instructions.
1. Place the panel into the Program mode.
2. Proceed to the WIRELESS SETUP menu.
3. Select the appropriate zone/sensor location number.
4. When prompted by the panel to trip the sensor for learning:
• Remove the battery pull tab which will power up the sensor
• The panel should acknowledge the sensor has been learned
by keypad display and/or audio alert (depending on the
panel). If enrollment fails try pressing and releasing the
tamper plunger. In some cases it may be necessary to
remove and reinstall the batteries.
5. Repeat the above process for any additional wireless
sensors. Proceed to the zone programming to assign each
sensor’s zone denition.
6. Exit programming mode when nished.
Installation Guidelines
• Operation should be tested from the desired location to
make certain it can be received by the panel before drilling
any holes or permanently mounting the sensor
• Mounting this sensor on metal can negatively a󰀨ect the
transmitting range.
• Install the sensor within 100 ft. of the receiver or panel.
• Heat sensors such as this are recommended for areas
like garages, kitchens, attics, utility & equipment closets or
places where a smoke detector is not advisable.
• Avoid areas that may experience extreme or rapid increasing
temperatures such as near: replaces, stoves, heaters, etc.
• Make absolutely certain that the ambient temperature where
sensor is to be mounted does not exceed 135°F or false
activations may occur.
• Mount this sensor on ceilings at least 4 inches away from
any wall. If placed on a wall the sensor must be within 6
inches of the ceiling.
