1General
To ens re reliable f nction of the prod ct please read this man al caref lly. The liability of Eltako
GmbH for defects shall be excl ded if the defects are d e to sage not according to the intended
p rpose or ignoring the operating instr ction (incorrect installation, incorrect start- p, incorrect
operation, etc.).
The intended p rpose of Eltako GFVS-To ch II with network or wifi comm nication is the vis alization
of sensor-information, act ator switching states and cons mption data pl s the control of act ators.

5First-start-up
• Connect the external power s pply to a 230V socket and the GFVS-To ch II, the bl e LED shows
power s pply
• To config re the software connect keyboard and mo se to the USB ports
• Alternatively yo can connect the Eltako GFVS-To ch II with a remote controlled PC via network
to config re the system
• Using the Cross-Over-cable it is recommend to assign a fixed IP address, for details see men item
5.8
Switch on the Eltako-GFVS To ch II. D ring start- p yo will see the following dialog:

If necessary yo can change to the recovery mode to restore a system back p. If no entry is made the
Eltako GFVS-To ch II will be started after 10 seconds.
Eltako GFVS 3.0-Software is already installed and la nches a tomatically after switching on:

The task bar is located on the bottom of the screen. Beside date and time the icon for the network
connection is displayed.
5.1 Operation
The to ch screen can be operated witho t a mo se or keyboard, j st with yo r fingertips. For a more
precise inp t there is a styl s on the left of the ho sing. Via the men a virt al keyboard is available.
By a long press on an item the context men appears.
5.1.1 Right-mouse button
Pressing a long time on the screen will be recognized as a right click. This enables to call the context
men .
5.1.2 Onscreen keyboard
Via “men – system settings - OSD – keyboard” the on-screen can be opened.

5.1.3 Volume Control
Right-click on the time and date range opens the vol me control.

5.2 Menu

5.3 Eltako GFVS 3.0-Software
Eltako GFVS 3.0-Software is la nched via the men item “GFVS 3.0“. A detailed man al is available
nder the men item “man als – Eltako GFVS 3.0 man al”.

5.5 Date/ ime
Via the men item “systems settings - date/time” yo invoke the dialog to adj st date/time:

5.6 Language selection
Via the men item “system settings – lang age selection“ yo invoke the dialog to change the
lang age.

Via the men item “system-settings – network-settings“ the config ration of network adapter can be

The LAN Interface is config red to operate in a network with a DHCP server.
Note: In recovery mode the L N interface has the IP 192.168.168.100.
5.8 Remote settings
Via the men item “system settings – remote-settings“ f rther settings for remote access can be made.

If yo connect another comp ter via crossover cable to the network port of the Eltako GFVS-To ch II,
yo can directly access with a remote client (e.g. TightVNC).
The defa lt password is: password
The Interface is config red to operate in a network with DHCP.
Note: In recovery mode the network interface has the IP 192.168.168.100.
5.9 BSC-BAP Finder
The BSC-BAP finder is sed for config ration of BAPs, BIERS and IPG170(P) and can be opened via men
item “system-tools –BSC-BAP finder“.
A detailed man al is available via the men point “man als – BSC-BAP finder“.
5.10 GFVS 3.0 settings
This dialog is invoked via “System tools - GFVS settings”.
The men item “create log files” generates log files that doc ment possible errors and provide
sol tions for the technical s pport.
With “size of the overview window” the size of the overview window to associated pc-Clients is
adj sted
„Team Viewer Start- p integrates the team viewer to the start- p. To accept the setting, a restart is
req ired.

“Hide main window“ starts the Eltako GVFS 3.0 software with the overview window. The b ttons of
the main window will be integrated into the main men “config ration”.

5.11 Presets
5.11.1 License
The Eltako GFVS-To ch II is delivered with an activated Eltako GFVS 3.0 license. If re-activation is
req ired, an Eltako GFVS 3.0 license key is attached.
5.11.2 Database
For data storage a PostgreSQL database is established.
5.11.3 Network
The interface is config red to operate in a network with DHCP.
5.12 GFVS-Update
Via “system tools - GFVS-Update“ the firmware of Eltako GFVS-To ch II or GFVS 3.0-software can be
pdated. The pdate can be installed via internet or USB stick. The file for the pdate has to be on the
USB stick s bfolder “/hc-import/ pdate/*.*”.
If the USB stick is not recognized, it can be mo nted with a click on the USB-stick icon.

6Eltako quickcon®-technology
Permits the set- p of a simple connection between the Eltako GFVS Server and a Mobile Client witho t
any knowledge of changing IP addresses (e.g. DynDNS) or disable ports.
Ca tion: Using the app generates data traffic, which may lead to additional costs, depending on the
mobile phone contract.
Download the Eltako GFA App from the app store of yo r mobile radio system (iPhone->iT nes,
Android -> Google Play) and install.

Config ring the mobile client and Eltako server
First create a profile in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software sing “config ration – profiles – profile manager”.
This defines the rights of the mobile client in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software.

Then create a new device in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software sing “config ration – sec rity – client –
Eltako GFVS 3.0 mobile“.

GF -Client
Enter the name of the smartphone or tablet.

Note: The device name must be identical in the app and the GFVS server. (Please pay attention
to the blanks!)
Then assign a profile to the device. Witho t a profile the device has no rights in the Eltako GFVS 3.0
software.

All generated profiles are displayed in the drop-down box:

Click on the b tton “key “ in the Eltako GFVS 3.0-Software to open the dialog for entering the password.
Yo may enter any password witho t restrictions. Then also enter this password in the “password”
box of the app.
Additionally a fig re in the box mobile key has to be entered (six-digit, e.g. 000000).

Connection via q ickcon®:
Enter the IMEI of the GFVS server in the “server IMEI“ box. Yo will find this on the device sticker or
in the Eltako GFVS 3.0 men –“ info - abo t Eltako GFVS 3.0”.
Alternatively yo can also enter the IP address or DynDNS address of the GFVS server in the “server
address“ box.

Click “save“ to complete the process.
Note: Saving the device name and the IMEI of the mobile device, ensures that no
unknown device can be connected.
7System tools
7.1 GFVS-tools
A right click on the backgro nd shows the men . Via “system-tools – GFVS 3.0 tools“ yo access a
dialog to save or restore the system and / or database.

The following dialog appears:

For a back p, absol tely make s re that the Eltako GFVS 3.0 software was finished. Otherwise, an error
message appears:

7.1.1 Backup, restore or delete database
To back p yo r database, click on „back p database“. A gray bar appears at the bottom of the window.

As soon as the back p is finished, a new dialog appears. Confirm with “ok“.

After each restart of the Eltako GFVS II, an a tomatic back p of the database takes place.
If yo want to restore an older database select it from the drop-down box. Alternatively a database
with the delivery stat s of Eltako GFVS-To ch II can be selected.

Once yo have selected a database, press the b tton “restore database“.

The s ccessf l recovery of the database is confirmed with a dialog. Click “ok“.
To delete a created database back p, select the appropriate database from the drop-down men , then
press “delete back p database“ with a click on the b tton.
