2. Introduction

MPD-1007E is a battery discharger and analyser designed to test the capacity of industrial batteries from 10 to 96 V with a

maximum discharge current of 200 A.

The main feature of the discharger/analyser is that it can function in two ways:

• The “Stand-alone” operation

• The system can be synchronised with all Replus models, allowing the discharge current to be increased up to 200 A.

The capacity of your batteries can be measured with high accuracy thanks to the built-in digital control. The discharge

current can be set between 0 and 200 A to perform a constant current discharge. The discharge process will stop when the

set voltage or discharge capacity has been reached, this protects your batteries from being over-discharged.

4.1. ‘Stand-alone’ operation

4.1.2 Discharge operation

The discharge process commences as soon as the “START”

option is selected.

The MPD-1007E will discharge according to the voltage,

current and time set in the setup menu.

If you need to force shutdown while discharging, press

the Push switch for five (5) seconds.

1) If you select “START” in the Main menu as shown below,

discharging will start

2) Display of ongoing charging mode

• Constant current discharging display

• End of discharge

4.2. Discharging report

When discharging with the MPD-1007E machine connected

to the Replus, the data log files will be saved on the Replus

machine. When using this machine as a stand-alone device,

you need to plug in a USB flash drive to store the data.

The name of the log file will contain the date and time

when the process was initiated.

When the USB flash drive is not properly connected, the

data log files will be lost.

To create a report, the freely available software ‘Integrated

Monitor’ must be used. If you do not have this software,

please contact us.

4.3. Synchronisation with Replus machines

When synchronised with the Replus, the MPD-1007E can be

controlled either with the toggle switch from the discharger

or via the touchscreen of the Replus.

Discharge parameters will appear on the screen of the

Replus. The discharger only needs to be switched on in case

you’re going to use the discharge mode.

Wiring diagram

When connecting the machines, you should use the RS-232

communication cable that is provided.

Connect the MPD-1007E to the Replus regenerator by

plugging the USB cable in the USB port on the back of the

Replus regenerator.

Connect the other end of the cable to the RS-232 port on

the back of the MPD-1007E machine.

Replus firmware upgrade

Upgrade the software on your Replus regenerator to be

able to connect to the MPD-1007E. Please contact us to

receive the latest firmware update and procedure or visit

our website.

Once you have updated the software, go to Settings and

make sure the DC Load is switched to ‘On’.

The operation of your Replus will remain the same when the discharger is

attached, except for the discharge current, which can now be set up to 200 A.

An icon will appear in the top right corner when the DC

Load is switched on. From now on, the regenerator will only

use your external discharger during the discharging process.

Display message

If the connection wasn’t successful, this message will

appear. What should you do?

1. Check the RS-232 cable connection

2. Make sure the MPD-1007E is switched on

When the connection is successful, this screen will appear

on your MPD-1007E machine.

Discharging...

After starting the discharge, this screen will appear to

indicate the process has started.

4.4. Error & alarm messages

Cause Internal operating temperature of the MPD-1007E is high.

Check Make sure the ambient temperature is below 50 °C.

Please check if the cooling fan functions normally.

Cause The connection between the MPD-1007E and the battery is

faulty.

battery is correct. Make sure the (+) and (-) terminals are

correctly connected.
