When using any electrical device, basic
precautions should always be adhered to,
including the following:

1. Ultraviolet radiation emitted from this lamp. Avoid exposure of the
eyes and skin to any unshielded source of light.
2. This nUVo™ Tower device is not intended to be used as a medical
device and is not registered as a medical device under any
applicable laws.
3. Skin or eye damage may result from directly viewing the light
produced by the lamp in this apparatus.
4. Always disconnect power before relamping or serving.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the
limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against
harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial
environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio
frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is
likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be
required to correct the interference at his own expense. 32

1. This nUVo™ Tower device is not intended
for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or reasoning
capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of
the device by a person responsible for
their safety.
2. Do not dismantle this device or use
without UVC bulb unit installed.
3. Do not allow nUVo™ Tower to be used as
a toy. Close attention is necessary when
used by or near children. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play
with this device.
4. Use only as described in this Operating
Manual. Do not carry out any maintenance
other than what is shown in this manual or
advised by the Energy Focus Customer
Success Help Line at 1-800-327-7877.
5. Suitable for dry location ONLY. Do not use
nUVo™ Tower outdoors or on wet surfaces
and do not expose to water or rain.
nUVo™ Tower is not suitable for use in
bathrooms with showers or bathtubs.
6. Do not handle any part of the plug or
nUVo™ Tower device with wet hands.

10. Do not run cord under carpeting.
Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners
or similar coverings. Do not route cord under
furniture or appliances. Avoid placing cord in
high traffic areas and where it could be
tripped over.
11. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To
unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. The use
of an extension cord is not recommended.
12. Do not put any object into openings or
the inlet grill. Do not use with any opening
blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and
anything that may reduce airflow.
13. Do not use any cleaning agents or
lubricants on this device. Dust with a clean
dry cloth. Unplug before cleaning or carrying
out any maintenance.
7. Do not operate any nUVo™ Tower device
with a damaged cord or plug. Discard the
device or return to an authorized service
facility for examination and/or repair. If the
supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced
by Energy Focus, its service agent or a
similarly qualified person in order to avoid
a hazard.
8. If the nUVo™ Tower device is not working
as it should, has received a sharp blow, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
exposed to water, do not use.

9. Do not stretch or place the cord under
strain. Keep cord away from heated
surfaces.

18. For best results, the nUVo™ Tower
device should be located away from walls
and furniture. nUVo™ Tower should be
installed as centrally in the room as possible.
19. Do not tamper with safety switches or
open any part of the nUVo™ Tower device
not intended for regular maintenance.
20. Care should be taken to avoid looking
directly into fan chamber while product is
in use.
21. WARNING: This product contains
chemicals known to the state of California to
cause cancer, birth defects or other
reproductive harm.
14. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Unplug from outlet when not in use for
extended periods. To avoid a tripping hazard,
safely coil the cord.
15. Do not use near furnaces, fireplaces,
stoves or other high temperature heat
sources.
16. Do not use in conjunction with or directly
next to an air freshener or similar products.
Keep essential oils and chemicals away from
this device.
17. Do not place or drape items on or over
device. Air path through device should
always be kept free of obstruction.

22. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this
nUVo™ Tower device has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other). This plug
will fit in a polarized outlet only one way.
If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact
a qualified electrician to install the
proper outlet. Do not attempt to override this
safety feature and do not alter the plug in
any way.
23. UVC bulb should only be replaced by a
professional. Only replace lamp with Energy
Focus SKU NUVO-AT-LAMP. For more

Power Button: Turns the nUVo™ Tower
device on/off and activates the LED indicator
light strip.
+ : Increases fan speed (levels 1-4)
- : Decreases fan speed
To turn off LED indicator light strip press and
hold the power button for 5 seconds.
